As a person who uses an android and a macbook I appreciate this! I actually like keeping my work (laptop) and personal (phone) separate. I find it helps keep the boundaries between them.
I have been a cross ecosystem user for years (I truly hate the iPhone but love Macs and iPads - I know I am weird). I use windows and MacOS laptops daily both with an Android phone and generally have very few problems (I have not been an iMessage user in years so no loss there). My goal to get the best of all worlds and hope I can get them to work together, so far no major issues. Love your videos BTW informative and entertaining
I am the same - android phone is it superior, ipad (although the S9 is almost made me swap), macOS and chromebook for personal laptops and windows for work
Not weird at all- Am Running -an Android phone -iPad for studies (android tablets still lack tablet sized apps) -And Linux desktop at home because windows annoys me and gnome just looks better (Though I still use windows for games sometimes)

But I'm put off by that wobbly hinge and flexing screen. I thought about getting a Mac Book Pro instead for the build quality. I'm on the fence and not getting any younger. Great video, by the way.

I love Android phones, but I only have macs (at home a mini, at work an iMac and a Macbook Pro in my bag), so I could not give up the perks, earbuds, everything involved in the process. Wow, absolutely PERFECT! I have a galaxy s21 and a baseline macbook air and people keep annoying me to buy an iPhone. As if it was impossible to work around the apple ecossystem or if making so would deprive the macbook from all its value. I'm from Brazil, and here, tech is awfully expensive, and Android is much more common than iOS...
You're completely right. I've never noticed. When I grab my mac is strictly for making money. And my phone/pc is always for fun. I never get it wrong because of this clear and easy distinction.
I have no clue why you have so few subscribers. I honestly love how you explain things which many prominent and famous tech channels fail to do. (Not talking about the top one tho') Also, the man knows some magic tricks ... anyone notice?

I'm a big Macbook / Samsung phone (s21) user. For file transfers I use Dropbox. If I want to share a url link from my phone to my laptop I simply copy/paste the link into Facebook, setting the privacy setting of the post to "me only". As for browsers, my late 2013 Macbook tends to run a little hot these days and Safari is the biggest offender, so I use a Chrome browser.
Whats is the difference to use Dropbox instead of Google Drive? I am trying to use Google Drive to share big files but this workflow takes too much time. That is why I am asking. Thanks!
@matheusbraga2909 between my Macbook and my phone I share a network drive on my laptop and then find that drive using the phone's Network Storage option (logging into the laptop using the SMB protocol).
I don’t know about safari synchronisation, but Firefox is fire at it, it can sync to any device. Plus Firefox has Privacy and Adblock support, Free Relay Email to protect your personal email.
Been using S23 Ultra since it came out and been using andriod sincd s9 and i recently had the tough decision of purchasing a laptop and theres no debate that macbooks are beast. So i went with the 14 inch macbook pro M2 and was kinda struggling at first but after this video i figured out about quick share downloads and that helped alot! You should make a video about more tips with andriod and mac cross over "walmart MKBHD" 😂😂😂😂 love the work man!
Great video. I just bought the MBP with M3 Pro and really like it. I was used to Windows 11 with Phone Link App & Samsung, but with Firefox Sync, Nearby Share (NearDrop on Mac), OneDrive and Google Messages (thanks for this hint, wasn't aware of it!) it's quite similar. You have a new sub ☺
The upload/download steps is whet those of us with slow internet wouid like to avoid. What about if you are moving 10GB of files between android and macbook? A cable is the only way
I am considering buying a macbook Air as i wanna get into editing videos and photos, but i own a Samsung s23 ultra, which i just bought. I am worried that most apps on the macbook would be paid for as opposed to the android. Plus, i am worried about how they would work well together. In terms of transferring files back and forth. Please help! 🙏🏽
glad i was able to find such a video mate :D. was thinking about getting a macbook as i wanted to try one for a long time. typing this comment from a macbook air that i recently took for rent for a week :P
Loved the bloopers..... My Note 9 is restarting very 5 minutes so I'm looking at a new phone. Have to admit I-Phones cameras are (IMO) almost as good as Galaxy ones.. Looking at the pixel 7 and 7a but the 128GB is limiting. Looking at an unlocked s23 ultra and IPhone 14 too. any thoughts? Also, I think I will see what goes on sale during Prime days....
@maze40 - I just the S23U to replace the iPhone 13 PM (that's in the draw now) & it was because of the lack of a decent zoom on the iphone. We were going on a scenic cruise and the S23U gave us some fantastic shots that several friends have remarked on...
the key point here is which one suits you the best. I used to own an iPhone and a Macbook. I realized that they are really convenient for me given the synchronization between Apple's devices. But when my iPhone's battery started to show bad performance, I switched to a Samsung S23, which I found initially a bit less convenient. Yet, I still gave it a try. After few months living with Macbook and Samsung phone, I feel... nothing much to complain. Clearly having something to work with in the ecosystem is great, but it doesn't mean you must follow procedure if you don't really need it.
You can use Kde connect on your android phone and macbook to do the exactly same stuff like with android to windows You can sync clipboard, send large file, access your file system remotely, notification and a lot If you are using this combo give my recommendation a try✌️
I use an S23+ with a Macbook Pro (personal machine) and an HP Laptop (work machine). And I really love the ability to use Google messages regardless of the platform I’m on. I also have my Google profile loaded on both machines so I can use Google Drive with both machines. The one thing I don’t like is taking notes. Neither One Note or Google Keep are my favorite note taking apps. I really loved both Apple Notes and Samsung Notes but they are both platform specific. At the end of the day I do like having mixed setup. I think Apple has the best laptops and tablets. And I think Samsung has the best phones. I don’t know that I’ll ever go back to the walled garden completely, ever again. Great video and thanks
Samsung phone and MacBook user here. I quit iPhones back around iPhone 5 and haven't missed it one bit. I just recently picked up a MacBook Pro and find it to be a great laptop for the Adobe range of products and design work I do on it. I still use a PC for my main computer/desktop and that will never change. I use the iPad a lot for illustrating and wanted it to be a bit easier to move files back and forth from there to computer programs, and that's why I decided on the MacBook. While I am overall happy with my MacBook, it's a bit clunky in areas and frustrates me to no end that it doesn't work easier with Android/PC when it comes to simple things like file sharing. But as you said, there are work arounds and I make do.
Agree with everything you say, i have always used android for mobile os devices but mac for desktop machines, similarly I use Brave browser to sync everything between devices and one drive for sharing.
Snapdrop is great for mix match devices; it directly sends files to other devices via p2p so you don't have to worry about sending something through a third party. Only requirement is to be on the same wifi network together
I had an android with a MacBook for a while since Mac is better in terms of performance, and I will say it’s not super bad. Not being able to move files was annoying but remember android is basically a computer so u could do whatever there instead and I’m usually using my phone in addition to the laptop to multitask in terms of texting, switching to iPhone definitely makes the experience much more convenient but it’s nothing super duper necessary
I would like to see a comparison between the two ecosystems for sure…I struggle with really wanting to break out of the Apple ecosystem since I have been it so long for a change but damn it’s hard.
The samsung ecosystem is great and you have choices. I use phone, buds, tablet, and laptop. There us really nothing apple offers that I can do. Again, I have choices of devices and get way more for my money. Storage is a great example. I had the MacBook air 2017 before and while it was good and I used it with my galaxy s20, I still get more from the Samsung ecosystem.
The eco systems (purely samsung products that is) are almost the exact same. I’ve literally got both eco systems and the differences are marginal at best. Just comes down to what you prefer.
I am using an Android phone paired with a Macbook. I believe those OS are the best of both worlds in their current states. that said, I'm always tempted to switch to iOS for the full integration experience even though I can't stand iOS. Android has always been my favorite OS specially for productivity so I am glad to know that I'm not alone.
The airdrop segment was pretty weak, you're assuming anyone with a Samsung phone has a Samsung laptop which just isn't the case. And the alternatives like uploading the google drive etc aren't basically the same as airdrop which JUST an extra step, the time it takes to upload and download those files is also a factor. Cuz yknow, not everyone has blazing fast internet
You're the best reviewer I have seen, And I really appreciate... If ever you need to expand your team with an editor, I'd be really honoured to be a part of this great channel.. I know it may sound like wash, lol but it really isn't
Amazing video cause i actually like this and android is something that i truly love and in computers i love macbooks and macs in general i think its a great combination
I use an iPhone with a Windows PC. I get around the lack of AirDrop by connecting to my home WiFi server through the Files app and sharing things that way. Works pretty damn well.
I've used both Android and iPhones one the years, and I always use a MacBook. I agree - sometimes it's a relief not to have everything linked / connected.
I always tell people *xender* it’s available on any os mobile or pc and it can share any type of file without quality loss as long as you’re on the same lan. I use an iPad and a Samsung phone and a pc and I never face any issues if I want to transfer from pc to iPad it’s easy and vice versa with android too basically a universal app or a bridge for all the operating systems .

This is the first video that I saw from your channel. Subscribed. You deserve many many more subscribers!
Wow, thanks!
I don’t know about safari synchronisation, but Firefox is fire at it, it can sync to any device.
Plus Firefox has Privacy and Adblock support, Free Relay Email to protect your personal email.
Chrome has the same sync last time I checked
Been using S23 Ultra since it came out and been using andriod sincd s9 and i recently had the tough decision of purchasing a laptop and theres no debate that macbooks are beast. So i went with the 14 inch macbook pro M2 and was kinda struggling at first but after this video i figured out about quick share downloads and that helped alot! You should make a video about more tips with andriod and mac cross over "walmart MKBHD" 😂😂😂😂 love the work man!
Nice video, Dayo. Thanks
❤️
Just subscribed! you had me on your sponsor 😂
Would love an ecosystem comparison. Would love to hear experience of windows device and iPhone
Full on waitin for the comparison video between Android/Windows and iOS/Mac
The upload/download steps is whet those of us with slow internet wouid like to avoid. What about if you are moving 10GB of files between android and macbook? A cable is the only way
I love the Nobody sponsorship 😂
2:56 did you actually throw the phones in the video 😂😂
@@Carl30005 yeah
I am considering buying a macbook Air as i wanna get into editing videos and photos, but i own a Samsung s23 ultra, which i just bought. I am worried that most apps on the macbook would be paid for as opposed to the android. Plus, i am worried about how they would work well together. In terms of transferring files back and forth. Please help! 🙏🏽
It works just fine
I want the iPhone/Mac VS Galaxy Phone/Galaxy Book 🔥🔥
glad i was able to find such a video mate :D. was thinking about getting a macbook as i wanted to try one for a long time. typing this comment from a macbook air that i recently took for rent for a week :P
Great Video I wonder which features are missing ?
the key point here is which one suits you the best.
You can use Kde connect on your android phone and macbook to do the exactly same stuff like with android to windows
You can sync clipboard, send large file, access your file system remotely, notification and a lot
If you are using this combo give my recommendation a try✌️
I love your channel man. Hillarious and informative 😅👍👍👍👍
Pleasant voice, good quality, good video!
Agree with everything you say, i have always used android for mobile os devices but mac for desktop machines, similarly I use Brave browser to sync everything between devices and one drive for sharing.
great explanation about each device being their own tool, i feel the same with my setup
Snapdrop is great for mix match devices; it directly sends files to other devices via p2p so you don't have to worry about sending something through a third party. Only requirement is to be on the same wifi network together
Did he just throw 2 phones to the other side of the room? LMAO Great video, subscribed. Edit: Not the laptop too lmaoooo
I feel you bro! I have the same setup as yours. I'm on Pixel 8 Pro, pairing with my new MBA M3. No blockers or anything.
Another great video, I'm loving the Bloopers 😅
Apt.
Snap drop is a fantastic Airdrop replacement if you have an Android. Never had an issue with it.
Using drive sucks, i would rather use a cable but its not easy either
Feem and LocalSend for cross-platform sharing without a pain. Nearly like AirDrop.. I do this between iPad and S23..
Love your content man. Please keep it up
I use an iPhone with a Windows PC. I get around the lack of AirDrop by connecting to my home WiFi server through the Files app and sharing things that way. Works pretty damn well.
Instant subscription after the sponsor joke haha 😂
Beeper is great on desktop too (Mac) not only an iMessage integration but pulls everything together into one place
🤣🤣🤣 loving your sponsor 👏🏾
NearbyShare and others are finally catching up. But it took them a while... And that is why macbook + iPhone is so popular.
This is the most video that reflect the reality i have ever seen without hype and hypocrisy in youtube
Great Vid, love the bloopers! :) I gotta start doing those! Are you still androiding with a Mac laptop?
i was on the fence on turning to android but you put my mind at ease
Been looking for videos like this but all could see was from a year or just whack....Thanks Man Got A SUB
Please include Samsung DEX as well!! I am currently using it about every day after work and it is absolutely brilliant😊
I’ve never subscribed so fast in my life all because he made me laugh in the first 30 seconds of the video lmaoo
Welcome to the team
