It’s only a matter of opinion. Personally though, I like more of a combination of physical buttons and a touch screen. My 2016 Ford Escape has the optional Sync 3 System along with physical buttons underneath it’s touch screen. I like it because it still keeps physical buttons for the climate control system and everything else on the dash without having to use the touch screen to change the climate control and etc., like you have to do in a Tesla. And of course, I also like older dash styles as well. But I also like older vehicles, like this 2001 Chevy Impala. I like to have a clean and simple to use dash setup, wether if it’s in a older vehicle or a newer vehicle like my Escape.
The SS trim in that bodystyle Impala did not come out till 04, so that car you were driving was the top of the line Impala for 2001. Those 3.8's can really move. Nice choice for lunch by the way!!!
Yeah. It's wonderful. My grandparents bought a 2000 Impala, pretty much the same, and it's very comfortable. They used to regularly drive it from Houston to Albuquerque and back, and they bought it because it was the most comfortable car they could find.
I have an '05 with almost 70,000 miles on it. I had to have the tie rod ends and intake manifold gaskets replaced (under the extended warrenty) and had to have the brakes all redone. From what people have said these cars had issues with the brake componants going bad early on. I know about the intake manifold gasket issue too, luckily I was able to get mine replaced before the warrenty ran out. Mine has a 3.4, not the 3.8, so hopefully by '05 they made worked the kinks out of it. I haven't had any real issues, knock on wood. Its been a great car, I have no plans on replacing it anytime soon.
My grandparents had a 2000-2005 Chevy Impala. (Not sure which engine their’s had, but it was a nice vehicle.) To this day, this car certainly reminds me of how my Grandparents loved Chevy’s, back when they both were still alive. 😢
Presently have a 2004 Impala (base) that's going on 220k miles. Had it since I was still in high school. 5 years & around $3800 in repairs later, it's gotten the job done; much less survived COUNTLESS joyrides & daytrips! However, I'm personally surprised that the tranny never failed on this thing; not only has it occasionally mis-shifted after the lights, but its performance uphill is deplorable; punch it uphill and acceleration is miniscule at best (if not DECLINING) AND the check engine light starts flashing! Head gasket blew, I believe at around 120k; heard either these or ALL GM sedans from this era were NOTORIOUS for this eventually happening, but whatever...
love love love the sound the 3.8 makes in this car when u pull out of the parking lot. my aunt has one of these and i have always loved it since she bought hers new on 02 i hope she can sell it to me
This video just makes me miss my impala more, 4th of july weekend, came out of somewhere and it got hit :( insurance totaled it. Miss the awesome sound of the 3800, it only made it to 84498 miles was hoping to have that car for a long while.
Part 1- I got 01 3.8 LS about 1.5 years ago, 1st day ran smooth no overheating but when I got it into town it didn't shift very good, thing was almost completely out of transmission fluid, who knows how long it was driven like that, filled her up fixed the leak, shifted fine. 2 days after that the engine blew up, no warning signs at all, just tried to pass a truck on freeway and literally blew hole in the engine. Put junk yard engine in it after changing head gaskets and all that good stuff.
Yes, I have problems starting it and it has a lot of electrical issues. But if you treat it well it will get you where you need to go. i have 220k miles on mine
@mikegta14 Congratulations, how many miles does it have? Unless you know the previous owner replaced the intake manifold gaskets you should expect to have to replace them, the ones that came in the cars were nylon, and start leaking coolant after so long, the redesigned gaskets are aluminum though. If you notice low coolant and you don't see a leak good chance its the intake manifold gaskets. 3800 is supposed to be a great engine from what I've heard.
The Impala of this era probably a rides more firmly than a Century/Regal, but it no doubt has sportier, firmer steering compared to the Century's soft, slow steering. If you prefer sporty steering over softness, this is the car for you.
@mikegta14 Does yours have the 3800? Hope its a good car for you. When I had mine I loved it, comfortable, has power, nice radio, the air conditioning in these is amazing also, like a freezer.
do a test drive and full tour on a 1984 toyota cressida sedan loaded power windows locks and mirrors power seats cloth. 2.8 liter straight 6 cylinder, automatic with 325,877 miles. it runs pretty good the manifold leaks a lil bit and sometimes it's hard to start because the 3rd cylinder fouls up and starts running rich and when its -5c it starts up fine and it starts knocking and the alternator belt chirps, drives good
Oh yeah I'm still loving it. One thing though, make sure you have a mechanic or someone check the car and see if its in good shape because I didn't, and I've had so much work done on this car its not even funny. Overall, buy this car bro, you'll love it.
I own the 2003 impala LS and in 2 months I already had to replace the power steering pump because the shaft on it broke other than that it's a great car
I've had similar problems, bought an '01 3.4 a few months ago, got it for cheap knowing that there were a few small things it needed like a couple wheel bearings, a battery, a light, etc. and I used to work at a garage so I can get very cheap labor paid in cash. About a week in when checking the fluids I realized I had oil in my antifreeze, and one day it almost completely overheated. ...
are u replacing the engine since it have alot of miles??? have u went out of town with these many miles on it i have the same car 181k i wana replace the engine but i take it on the road
my 04 impala was great, with the 3400 V6, bench seat and column shifter.Bought it not running for 500$ with a clean body, water was getting inside thru a misplace seal under the wiper cowl on the passenger side and messed up the air bag module wich pull down the Can Bus with it, i've replace the air bag module and installed an water deflector wich GM sold for these, the car turn out great, i drove it several month and sold it for a profit
dude, please, when you make your videos, start up cars with the doors closed, i mean, it's always good to ear a engine sound, but it also nice to see how smooth the car is..
@WolfXpert123 If you mean when you shut the car off the radio stays on, my mom's impala and my monte do that, they stay on for 20 minutes unless you open the door than it should shut off immediately.
Sounds like it needs new upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. For some odd reason gm used nylon gaskets when they built them, even the 3.8's needed the intake manifold gaskets replaced. Had to have them replaced on my 04 monte carlo ss which has the 3800. Less than a month after I purchased the car.
I feel you, I'm pretty good at working on cars myself but I have no clue about transmissions, I might try to put a junkyard transmission in it, the junkyard motor runs great maybe I'll get lucky
Rolling out the tunes, lol. Yeah i love my '04 - very similar to this one with leather and a sunroof. However, unlike yours mine doesn't have OnStar or audio controls because it was once a rental but regardless still a nice car. Love the Impala.
@ndaguanno Yeah, I took it to a family mechanic yesterday and they changed the front brake pads and the mass airflow sensor. Engine light is still on, we was told to take it to a part place and have them reset it and it should go away.
I was doing absolutely nothing with it. First the ABS system failed so a new EBCM was put in. Then the catalytic converter and rear suspension needed to be fixed. Then the idle control valve needed to get replaced. When I left it it still had a whole in the fuel resonator that had a hole from rust.
@Outdoorsforum Depends what motor it has and which generation it is, this car a 2001 impala ls has the legendary 3800 series 2 I've heard they can get to 300k if properly taken care of. I've also heard of these motors described as bulletproof, it was one of gm's best engines. If you get the base from this generation it has a 3400 in it, which I can't speak for, heard its not as good as the 3800. If you get one from this era check the intake manifold gaskets.
Bailey Has A 2002 Impala LS Bought It After A Tree Smashed Her Durango It Runs Good Never Had A problem Like The Ford Explorer The Grand Cherokee And The Chevy Prizm
i'm hoping so, i heard if you take care of a vortec they will last beyond 300,000, it's in the shop for small repairs, cant wait to go for a drive, the transmission is my only worry
I'M IN LOVE WITH THE 3.8 MOTORS I DON'T CAR WHAT CAR IT'S IN! I LOVE IT!!!! SERIES 1 2 AND 3!!! SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE AND SOUND! AND PRETTY GOOD GAS MILEAGE FOR A V6 TOO!
My 01 LS has been a great car. Typically the only people that have issues with these cars take poor care of them. I'm guessing his current car is a POS, too.
And then to top it off they went to Hooters for lunch after buying a great car.Sounds like a perfect day to me.
Sounds like a win-win in my book. 📚👍
I like older interiors on cars way better than all the new ones with IPads on the front dash.
It’s only a matter of opinion. Personally though, I like more of a combination of physical buttons and a touch screen. ❤❤
I used to have an 2001 Impala just like this one...same engine, color, interior...what a nice car!!
My 2000 Impala LS with the 3.8 V6 is still running at 157,xxx. Still sounds amazing too :)
I have the same exact car
Mine is at 170,000
The SS trim in that bodystyle Impala did not come out till 04, so that car you were driving was the top of the line Impala for 2001. Those 3.8's can really move. Nice choice for lunch by the way!!!
Just bought an 03 base impala with only 35,000 miles on it...I love it!
I like how fast the turn signal blinks and the way it sounds. Not gonna lie.
Yeah. It's wonderful. My grandparents bought a 2000 Impala, pretty much the same, and it's very comfortable. They used to regularly drive it from Houston to Albuquerque and back, and they bought it because it was the most comfortable car they could find.

I always said it, the 3800 was one of GM''s best engines.
Matter of opinion
DTINC WORLD NEWS yea they were good my grandma had an 01 impala with the 3400 it sadly gave out in 2014 with 228K on it
the 3400 and the 3800 were totally different engines...both good but the 3800 was way better
DTINC WORLD NEWS there indestructible
My grandparents had a 2000-2005 Chevy Impala. (Not sure which engine their’s had, but it was a nice vehicle.) To this day, this car certainly reminds me of how my Grandparents loved Chevy’s, back when they both were still alive. 😢
I got this Tuesday and its my first car. Few tire problems and roters/brakes but this car is amazing.
My first car is a 05 Chevy impala base with the 3.4 L I still have it and it’s great !

But can we just agree that the song was a bop.
love love love the sound the 3.8 makes in this car when u pull out of the parking lot.
my aunt has one of these and i have always loved it since she bought hers new on 02 i hope she can sell it to me
Of course he was headed to Hooters because he didn't even tell us goodbye or have a nice day at the end. Lol
Hooters is where the nice tits are!
You were on West Wendover in Greensboro!lol Thats the auto auction place that you were at right?
I just got a 2008 Impala LT yesterday and I love it :)
Car sounds amazing
This video just makes me miss my impala more, 4th of july weekend, came out of somewhere and it got hit :( insurance totaled it. Miss the awesome sound of the 3800, it only made it to 84498 miles was hoping to have that car for a long while.

0:36 ah yes, a meme in today's world
Funny to think this video is 10 years old now and one of the first I seen from Kyle.
nice car looks like who ever had it be for you took care of it cuz it surely dont look bad for a 2001 but whats up with the airbag light? lol
Just got myself an 03 impala...one of the best cars out there
only 35,000 on mine too!
Woah lol I didn't even realize this was Kyle until just now, and I've watched this like four times haha
a little bit of monica in my life
@narb182 Thats the airbag light, seatbelt light is on the other side of the speedometer.
i didn't know you were a hooters kind of guy, those 3.8s really push the power!
Mambo number 5?
Yes, I have problems starting it and it has a lot of electrical issues. But if you treat it well it will get you where you need to go. i have 220k miles on mine
My sister has a 2003 with the 3.4 though. It's a rust bucket but pretty reliable at 208.000 miles.
Why Is the horn so faint sounding on many GM vehicles?
@mikegta14 Congratulations, how many miles does it have? I love the 3800 engine and the 4.6 by ford Best engines you can get wish they still would make them
do a test drive and full tour on a 1984 toyota cressida sedan loaded power windows locks and mirrors power seats cloth. 2.8 liter straight 6 cylinder, automatic with 325,877 miles. it runs pretty good the manifold leaks a lil bit and sometimes it's hard to start because the 3rd cylinder fouls up and starts running rich and when its -5c it starts up fine and it starts knocking and the alternator belt chirps, drives good
Olders cars have better made interior than new cars
Yo, I'm thinking about getting me a 04 Chevy Impala but I just wanted to know after having the car for a while if you still like it?
Oh yeah I'm still loving it. One thing though, make sure you have a mechanic or someone check the car and see if its in good shape because I didn't, and I've had so much work done on this car its not even funny. Overall, buy this car bro, you'll love it.

i have the same car well a 2000 i love it.. do you have a after market exhaust on it.. if so what brand it sounds good.. watch out for wheel bearings
Never would've thought Kyle was a Hooters guy.
wow, starts up with no problem, how many miles on it? 2001 right?
That song is still on the radio now, on a few oldie stations.
Someday I would love to have one of those
5:12 Going to Hooter’s?
hey kyle is this yr of impala rwd or fwd?
The inside looks just like my 2005 impala Ls 3.8L
my 04 impala was great, with the 3400 V6, bench seat and column shifter.Bought it not running for 500$ with a clean body, water was getting inside thru a misplace seal under the wiper cowl on the passenger side and messed up the air bag module wich pull down the Can Bus with it, i've replace the air bag module and installed an water deflector wich GM sold for these, the car turn out great, i drove it several month and sold it for a profit

god I haven't heard that song on the radio in ages
which one?
Name?
@mrsimple1691 Thats the airbag light, the only reason I know is my 2002 has the same dash setup, seatbelt light is on the left of the speedometer.
You don't need to press the lockout button for going between reverse to drive, etc. It's only for leaving Park.
how are the sound in the impala? below average, average, or above average?
Is there a reason why the message center below the rpm gauge doesn't work? Mine doesn't work as well and I'm trying to fix it. Thanks
@WolfXpert123 If you mean when you shut the car off the radio stays on, my mom's impala and my monte do that, they stay on for 20 minutes unless you open the door than it should shut off immediately.
Is that a tire screeching 2:50?
+Tatonia Johnson Kyle was really punching it that day, i also seen a traction control light
+Tatonia Johnson It was the seatbelt light he was not wearing it.
+Jesus Trujillo I was talking about the Orange light under the tachometer
Sounds like it needs new upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. For some odd reason gm used nylon gaskets when they built them, even the 3.8's needed the intake manifold gaskets replaced. Had to have them replaced on my 04 monte carlo ss which has the 3800. Less than a month after I purchased the car.
@TinyTacosAreTasty That isn't the seatbelt light, its the airbag light. Right after he started the car he put his seatbelt on.
I feel you, I'm pretty good at working on cars myself but I have no clue about transmissions, I might try to put a junkyard transmission in it, the junkyard motor runs great maybe I'll get lucky
i love those cars. :-) how come u always have 2 re-start it becuz it won't start the 1 time?
Same exact car I have. Down to the headrests style. Does it have a sunroof?
The ss does
Rolling out the tunes, lol. Yeah i love my '04 - very similar to this one with leather and a sunroof. However, unlike yours mine doesn't have OnStar or audio controls because it was once a rental but regardless still a nice car. Love the Impala.
How was somebody that I used to know on the radio in 2009 when it came out in 2011
@ndaguanno Yeah, I took it to a family mechanic yesterday and they changed the front brake pads and the mass airflow sensor. Engine light is still on, we was told to take it to a part place and have them reset it and it should go away.
Good luck mate
@narb182 that's the airbag light.
Do you still have this car Saabkyle04?
I was doing absolutely nothing with it. First the ABS system failed so a new EBCM was put in. Then the catalytic converter and rear suspension needed to be fixed. Then the idle control valve needed to get replaced. When I left it it still had a whole in the fuel resonator that had a hole from rust.
This Is The Best Video To Me I Love These Cars I Want Me A 05 Impala Ls

@Oliethehunter Yeah it does its above the radio display.

@lefebvrer3289 That's the seatbelt light I believe.

I'M IN LOVE WITH THE 3.8 MOTORS I DON'T CAR WHAT CAR IT'S IN! I LOVE IT!!!! SERIES 1 2 AND 3!!! SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE AND SOUND! AND PRETTY GOOD GAS MILEAGE FOR A V6 TOO!
@hacdan No google airbag light. I own a 2002. Its the airbag light.
iam going to get a 01 impala i been hearing that is a pain in the ass with electrical problems and starting problems is it true?
I like the column shifter better.
My 01 LS has been a great car. Typically the only people that have issues with these cars take poor care of them. I'm guessing his current car is a POS, too.
