I am never was a fan of turning Hal Jordan into a villain but if it’s executed right and the story is good I am willing to give it a shot but the way they handled parallax in this movie and killed him off felt kind of anticlimactic at least in my opinion.
I feel they should save that for something bigger I like comic better because you can feel his pain and loss so much that it could easily corrupt someone

No, it was poorly written and they didn't consider the run-time of a "home movie." They didn't establish any rules concerning the rings, other than facts known to the reader of the comics. They didn't bother to power scale the Parallax and if Sinestro was greatly de-powered as a result. They never explained how Sinestro was able to snatch Stewart's ring every single time, much less Steward being able to use the ring lethally upon summoning it. Then again, we never saw Sinestro's ring leave his "dead body", nor did it happen to the dozen or so lanterns (on screen) on Oa. The entire narrative of the movie was terrible and it only took more than just a small squad of villains to over take an entire planet of Oa. Every C-List villain would've done that every single Tuesday. The movie doesn't answer issues with Oa in general. Is Stewart just going to chill on earth while the new recruits are expected to return to Oa and do all the funeral arrangements? Who sends their spouses their paper work for insurance claims, death certificates, social security? How do you contact anyone when everyone on Oa is assumed dead? Any arrangements for the dependents of said dead lantern, including pets, etc.? Shouldn't there be insane repercussions of all the guardians dying, like another big bad invading the universe? Yes, I'm being antagonizing because the writers could not be bothered to write a proper third act. It must be a huge shame that they couldn't squeeze in at least 2 minutes wrapping a bow on Hal's body, much less confirmation of Sinestro's death and the various other posse members.
Just no, no. John beat Hal with parallax and multiple rings? They should have used green arrow, and get him close to death by something Hal did and because Hal almost killed his best friend, then he would lose the will to fight and the rings would abandon him. Then maybe John could beat parallax in Hal's body, since it would be an internal fight and an external fight.
That's the weird thing. Originally it was Green Arrow, with Roy Harper's new protégé Damage (Oh, 90s.) creating the new universe so Hal can't. Kyle and Hal do later have a conversation. Hal is disappointed with his new universe and wants to try again. Kyle, thinking about Alex, realizes he could be just like Hal, but also that Hal's off the deep end, worthy of pity, but ultimately, he and the rest of the universe cannot coexist.
Wasted the character for a bigger project. What if one day I decide to make an animated movie with Kyle Rayner back story. And have to use parallax. Annoyingly they made him week as F. Parallax dodging arrows.
It makes sense tbh, the rings respond best to will power and he was corrupted by greed and fear. 10 rings are no better than 1 if you can use them properly. Hal probably would’ve been better off with a simple yellow ring than allowed him to channel his emotions and feelings properly, hI’m not being able to properly channel the rings powers is why he lost

Bro i dont know much about parallax. But my thought, when i saw all these rings on hal's hands, was that there would maybe be a negative ending cuz he looked so powerful. But he got shot by Oliver? What a dumb ending after defeating the entire green lantern corp and planning to destroy the entire universe to create a new one. (My opinion)
read the comics honestly you'll enjoy them better the movie does parallax no justice. emerald twilight, Zero Hour , The final night and the rebirth arc are good places to start

Even having multiple green rings, possesed Hal is still weak against John due to Parallax manipulating his body. Instead of pure willpower, fear is more dominant emotion in Hals body.
Film was solid til the ending, Hal wouldn't even need all of those rings to fold an inexperienced John Stewart but not only did John keep up with him, he overpowered him. Fuck off, lmfao.

I think you get your comic stories mixed up Emerald Twilight only was about Hal becoming Parallax. During the first fight against Parallax that happened before Zero Hour did he while holding back pretty much one shot captain Atom and Wonder Woman and after a minor struggle beat Guy and Alan Scott. During Zero Hour it self were the likes of Superman entire powerless against Parallax and even Sector was beaten only weakening Hal enough so that he could be defeated afterwards. And mind you before the fight with Parallax did he already used huge powers to start his total universal reset (twice as the first attempt was stopped) And only after all of that was Green Arrow capable of getting 1 shot in to take Hal down.
Wow what a bullshit fight at the end , a bad overpowered Hal with 10 rings , with so much experience defeated by someone with less than a week of experience...that is really bad writing and an insulte to the intelligence even in cartoon land

Its totally inaccurate in all aspects. They used Kyle Rayner's origin for this. They also were using aspects of the final night comics and butchered it completely. Hal gave into fear due to a series of events namely the coast city's destruction. The parallax arc and Hal's redemption in rebirth are my favorite comics. This movie was terrible. I have nothing against John Stewart I wish they gave him a decent original story, not a rip-off of another lantern.

Did not like this John Stewart. The justice league animated series depiction was way better. Also movie made no sense. They are all against killing and sinestro and Hal destroying evil and such to make the universe a better place by killing lives, when John says sometimes you have to do things you'll regret as long as it's done for the right reasons. I'm paraphrasing here but by that sentiment Hal can be justified for his actions and other villains for the greater good like Thanos in infinity war. This was really bad writing. Kyle vs Parallax, was so much better written. Kyle, while new, had experience, but most of the JLA had to help him(fight after Zero Hour, issues 63-64)

Just wished green arrow killed hal with the nth knife which would've made more sense considering Hal's armour was made by a bunch of green lantern rings prolly making his defense strong

Emerald Twilight only was about Hal becoming Parallax.
During the first fight against Parallax that happened before Zero Hour did he while holding back pretty much one shot captain Atom and Wonder Woman and after a minor struggle beat Guy and Alan Scott.
During Zero Hour it self were the likes of Superman entire powerless against Parallax and even Sector was beaten only weakening Hal enough so that he could be defeated afterwards.
And mind you before the fight with Parallax did he already used huge powers to start his total universal reset (twice as the first attempt was stopped)
And only after all of that was Green Arrow capable of getting 1 shot in to take Hal down.

Wow what a bullshit fight at the end , a bad overpowered Hal with 10 rings , with so much experience defeated by someone with less than a week of experience...that is really bad writing and an insulte to the intelligence even in cartoon land

Its totally inaccurate in all aspects. They used Kyle Rayner's origin for this. They also were using aspects of the final night comics and butchered it completely. Hal gave into fear due to a series of events namely the coast city's destruction. The parallax arc and Hal's redemption in rebirth are my favorite comics. This movie was terrible. I have nothing against John Stewart I wish they gave him a decent original story, not a rip-off of another lantern.

@@borderlands10 You have little Knowledge how this works friend, it’s clear to understand that not all Green Lantern is same lvl of power, power is only as Strong as thier Will as A Lantern, thats how it works in that spectrum, so we can debate that Hall being Corrupted does have a Strong Will because hes not Worthy of a Green Lantern Ring being under Parallax Control, if His Will Was There and Strong enough he would have resisted Parallax Control, John had a Stronger 💪 Will and Confidence to Over powered Hall The Writers Knew what they doing
Did not like this John Stewart. The justice league animated series depiction was way better. Also movie made no sense. They are all against killing and sinestro and Hal destroying evil and such to make the universe a better place by killing lives, when John says sometimes you have to do things you'll regret as long as it's done for the right reasons. I'm paraphrasing here but by that sentiment Hal can be justified for his actions and other villains for the greater good like Thanos in infinity war. This was really bad writing. Man have the animated films fall off:/

I state that because, though the two different words are spelled the EXACT same way, they are pronounced differently & have meanings that aren't too similar(aka heteronyms). It's important to state each correctly as to not confuse viewers/listeners. I'm only constructively criticizing, not trying to insult or come across as a "know-it-all."
