Steven Ruble I wanted to but since they are oringed already I didn’t want to mess with the decking. It looks pretty smooth on that. The valve recession is within specs which was a surprise. In between 15-25 thou. I was suprised any of the valves sealed up.
I know it’s a rare occurrence, and it seems you have this issue sorted, but I’m curious if/how you ruled out a leaky drivers side branch tube and/or injector oil rail? I ask because it looked like your ICP was running fairly high at idle and I think I saw it spike as the camera moved? From 860 to 9XX? That seems high?
ShowMeThePony icp wouldn’t matter. Icp is only high because I just did the reseal on injectors and it hasn’t bled off yet. The standpipe and dummy plugs are new. And the video shows the vaccum test fail on the cylinder that was the issue. Pretty cut and dry from there on. I have never seen a head that hasn’t been machined here in the use just work. They all need to be reworked. You get what you pay for.
Daniel Wade I think* it’s a dealer only software/hardware system. I’ll let 6.0 Dr correct me here. And it’s expensive unless you’re in the business of fixing Ford diesels for a living. However, if you’re a DIY or part time mechanic, I’d Highly recommend Auto Enginuity with the Ford bundle. I’d say it’s about 85-90% as effective as IDS but only about 25%ish the cost.
