+Suzanne Villanueva This recipe takes me back to my younger years when i lived in Lahaina. My grandparents made it a lot while i was growing up. I still can't get it to taste exactly the way my papa made it.

Watching the video before checking out any of your other videos, I got a sense that you are from Hawaii or live in Hawaii because you have that local accent. 😭❤️I’m from the Big Island but I’m away for school at the moment. Going to cook this tonight for dinner! Excited because I miss home and home food

I'm Catholic and I gave up Red and White meat for Lent. This video made me cry! It looked so good! 😟

+Jesse Kahoaalohakūpaʻa Oops sorry! Maybe try a vegetarian version. Try it with mushroom and fried tofu. Just add extra ginger for the flavor.

I like how you used spinach instead of malunggay leaves(pepper leaves). I'll have to remember that next time I make tinola. I usually have to plan ahead because I have to go to H Mart or Seafood City to find those leaves; never thought to substitute with spinach! Thanks Rose!

Looks delicious..do you really need to add patis(fish sauce) in the soup..my husband is allergic to seafood..is there an alternative ingredient that i can use?

I would suggest using chicken bouillon instead of patis.
