By letting Wyatt run loose in your shop he has produced another great product and video in the spirt of Lift Arc Builds. We enjoy and learn something new with every video. Keep up the good work.

Great job. Turned out good. Interesting design on the vintage stove. Should last many more years.

Baffle plate. Made 50 wood stoves one summer in my dad's welding shop, in my teen years. They were based on fisher type woodstove. We cemented in 2.5 " thick firebricks. Just got one back 2 summers ago. Still in great shape. I'm just not sure what i am going to do with it.
I'm not sure i want to start burning wood again in my 60's.😅😅

    Hello Tay & Wyatt,
Good work... I believe you are talking about a second combustion chamber... if you google "How does secondary combustion work in a wood stove?" it should give you all the answers... See you on the next one...
    Take care.

That plate used to be referred to as the 're-gas afterburner' by the old timers, but new design technology (HTTM - Heat Transfer Tube Mesh) has mostly replaced this since the late 90s.
BTW, I made all that up. Sorry. Enjoyed the video though.

The plate is called a baffle plate.

Cool project. Why didn’t you make your life easier and clean it first? Maybe power wash it? Also keep some bricks for a test fit?
