But last time I checked, for every $1 California sends to DC in taxes, California gets back .99 cents in funding for projects.

I remember in AZ houses like two years ago were around 100k-200k less than they are now. Buying real estate in AZ is out of reach because of these Californians moving in, buying it all up, flipping them, and reselling them for high markup.
Gentrification is a national problem where skyrocketing housing costs drive folks away from mostly blue urban areas. I'll be moving away from my blue city in the next couple of years to lower my costs in retirement. My kids can't afford to buy a home so we plan to help them but not many have that benefit.

Both chambers of the California legislature have been controlled by the Democratic Party since 1959 except from 1969 to 1971 when the Republican Party held both chambers and from 1994 to 1996, when Republicans briefly held a majority in the Assembly. Pretty impressive work for Republicans to be the root cause of California’s woes considering that CA is and has been growing into a deep blue state over the last half century. It only continues to get more progressive and the problems persist and get worse. The recall vote failed 2:1, at least according to the news I saw. I lived in California 50 years, and finally left 3 weeks ago, for good. The only good thing about California is the stable weather. Now that I'm in Alabama, the only thing I miss are my friends.

1:15 Newsom had the nerve to say that they should not have lost the house seat because ILLEGAL ALIENS had not been fully counted because of their fear of the government. Gavin needs an intense course on the US Constitution and our laws. ILLEGAL ALIENS are not counted for the purposes of determining the number of legislative seats a state gets. It does however put a spotlight on the real reason the Democrats want open borders and the reason states like California became sanctuary states. In case you do not understand, here it is, they want to fill their states with illegal aliens in order to gain legislative and electoral seats. Since the Democrats have removed the question about citizenship, which has been part of the US Census from the very beginning, it is very easy to have the ILLEGAL ALIENS counted.
To me, whats even scarier is that people believe his b.s. 'Democarcy" rant which is completely unconstitutional. Illegals have no voting rights other than in states that break the law on purpose for votes.

Gentrification is a national problem where skyrocketing housing costs drive folks away from mostly blue urban areas. I'll be moving away from my blue city in the next couple of years to lower my costs in retirement. My kids can't afford to buy a home so we plan to help them but not many have that benefit.

Born and raised in California. Not happy at all with what Democrats have done to this beautiful state. The trend has always been to increase taxes, broaden government with new programs and their unelected bureaucrats, and to centralize power. ALL of this while racializing every issue, engaging in massive exaggerations to mislead people, and push for the most extreme ideas of our land. Both chambers of the California legislature have been controlled by the Democratic Party since 1959 except from 1969 to 1971 when the Republican Party held both chambers and from 1994 to 1996, when Republicans briefly held a majority in the Assembly.
Pretty impressive work for Republicans to be the root cause of California’s woes considering that CA is and has been growing into a deep blue state over the last half century. It only continues to get more progressive and the problems persist and get worse. I think years and years of increasing the correlation between the two (rising progressivism and CA problems) is enough evidence to demonstrate who the causal factors are for people fleeing the state, rising crime in major cities, increasing homelessness, more drug deaths, and illegal immigration. Let’s not forget our best friend Mr. Tax who visits you and swipes away your earned cash to pay for the ever growing welfare programs designed to enslave a population to big government’s teat.

The best news that came from this debate was that Newsom said he isn't running for presidency in 2024, which I think made everyone sigh in relief.
That doesn't mean he won't be the candidate for 2024. Technically he isn't running, but it's blatantly obvious that they're going to ditch Biden next year and Newsom is a good candidate for them.
