I lived in California for 62 years I had to move due to the high cost of living and the absolutely bad governance. High taxes, regulations, homelessness, rampant drug problems and the list goes on.

At the time we moved 35% of the families in my neighborhood had either already moved out of state or had plans to. There was a SIX MONTH waiting list for moving trailers and trucks. Companies were paying people to go to other states and drive back with moving trucks and trailers.

It’s so bad people started making businesses out of it by building enclosed trailers and selling for a few thousand dollars each. Then those businesses started having waitlists. We left CA in early 80’s because we saw things getting worse from crimes against education . Gangs fighting within school yards one school was destroyed by these thugs, another there was a stabbing in the school yard. Homes being broken into, yes every state has its problems but at least we could decide which problems we’d fight. We decided for our children and left the state I loved CA just couldn’t stand the erosion of standards.

As a Floridian, I’d say good luck on owning a home in FL. Insurance rates are running people of more modest means out of Fl due to ins companies leaving the state or simply dropping homeowners ins if property is paid for. I was all in with DeSantis considering the opposition. Over the last few years I’ve lost all respect for him with his insane policies and drama. I have lived here for about 50 years, and raised my children up when it was run by Governor Reagan. It was a beautiful place to live and raise children. Now my Grandchildren are grown and I don't think they can stay here and grow a family in the way God would want them to. It isn't at all the great place that it used to be. All of the stores lock up the deodorant, shampoo, conditioner. Went to target twice last month, and nobody could help me find the lume because they didn’t speak English. The teacher gave my third grader a spelling test last week and the words were: “it” “is” “and” and “the” but, they know the acronym for LGBTQIA and they’ll be teaching about masterbation to the fifth graders in Jan… (I’ll be keeping my kids home that day!) and I’d homeschool, but rent is 3,500 for a two-bedroom. And not one thing I wrote is a lie. Yea, I’m ready to say goodbye to California, and yes, it does break my heart. On a side note, yesterday we were driving down the street and noticed a lot of American Flags. I pointed it out to my husband and he agreed. Then we drove by Starbucks that had the HUGE lgbtq in the window and it was gone. All the BLM flags are gone from the neighbors yards. It was odd because I have not been seeing American flags in over two years, but yesterday I noticed then everywhere.
In Florida, the crime rate is at a 50 year low. Ron made this claim, and so he must be doing a great job, right? This fact comes from FBI statistics, and a couple of years ago the FBI changed how the states reported the numbers. It took a while for the states to adapt, but most states, like California, now feed data to the FBI from virtually every jurisdiction within the state. But Florida is different. This year Florida only reported from 8% of their police departments. I don't know if Florida is doing this intentionally, or if they're just incompetent, but claiming that crime is down when 92% of your police departments aren't even reporting their crimes is, at best, dishonest.

We left CA in early 80’s because we saw things getting worse from crimes against education . Gangs fighting within school yards one school was destroyed by these thugs, another there was a stabbing in the school yard. Homes being broken into, yes every state has its problems but at least we could decide which problems we’d fight. We decided for our children and left the state I loved CA just couldn’t stand the erosion of standards.

As a Floridian, I’d say good luck on owning a home in FL. Insurance rates are running people of more modest means out of Fl due to ins companies leaving the state or simply dropping homeowners ins if property is paid for. I was all in with DeSantis considering the opposition. Over the last few years I’ve lost all respect for him with his insane policies and drama. I have come to think of him as shallow who will do and say whatever he thinks will make him appeal to T base as Presidental nominee. That being said, Newsome is too slick for my tastes. Overall I’d say neither of them have accomplished much for their states as Governor.

He needs to hire a team of actors to get him to relax, lower his head, smile, and use his eyes to project confidence. You can tell that Newsom is very relaxed and has a good group of people preparing him for the presentation part of these debates. Ron rattles off statistics like a debate nerd - which would win in a college debate, but that isn't what wins political debates.
The point of the debate is to compare the philosophical views! Who cares about how entertaining the individual is. A clown is entertaining, but a clown will not give you a governess that will lead to higher standards of life. I don't see why everyone is using entertaining as a means of measuring a leader. A real leader is not an entertainer. That's called faking it. Ron DeSantis clearly won the debate.

I love how DeSantis brought up how California ran out of Uhauls and the fact that Gavin Newsoms father in law fled his own state because of policies, crime, ect.... I can't stand the fact that Newsom keeps talking over DeSantis when it's not even his turn. I wish that Hannity had an air horn, if I were Hannity I would've blown that air horn every time that debate got out of hand or someone would talk over someone else. I would've blown the air horn, told Gavin Newsom to stop interrupting Ron DeSantis, and for every time he interrupted DeSantis, he would get penalized and then give Ron DeSantis a little bit more time since he was interrupted and tell him to continue. Throughout all of these clips of this debate the one thing that has been constant is that Gov Gavin Newsom has interrupted Gov Ron DeSantis every single time. That and he tries to change the subject or talk around the subject. I love how DeSantis called him out on "inserting" a statement when Newsom "stated a fact."

During the entire debate, after seeing each of the graphs of CA vs FL, Newsome would somehow spin the data in a way that makes him look better than what the data would show. Facts are facts. DeSantis is doing a better job than Newsome.
I have lived here for about 50 years, and raised my children up when it was run by Governor Reagan. It was a beautiful place to live and raise children. Now my Grandchildren are grown and I don't think they can stay here and grow a family in the way God would want them to. It isn't at all the great place that it used to be. May God have mercy on those who walked away from the Godly nation we used to be.
Both states have issues. But, the issues of Cali are big where FL is minor. Home prices, taxes, crime, budget overrun…..etc make Cali unlivable. And I WAS a Cali native. Left 30 years ago after 36+ years in So Cali.
Florida only has 2 issues: 1- hurricanes, 2- people moving in from places like CA and trying to make Florida just like the shitholes they left. Stopping people from moving in from places like CA, NY, etc, would fix all other issues in Florida.
Yup. Im second generation to the bay area and my husband is third. I love California. My mom, me and my kids were all born at the same hospital, which is one mile from our house, and I’m 45. My oldest son is 23. The reason I’m writing this is because I don’t recognize my home. It used to be the safest big city. My church was vandalized. Someone threw a bottle in the window on Monday. I’ve been accosted several times in the grocery store parking lot, harassing me to buy weed…chasing me to my car and banging on my window…two different men doing the exact same thing!! Last year when I went to sees to buy chocolate for my 90 year-old grandma, a guy pulled out a meth pipe and started smoking in front of me and my kids. All of the stores lock up the deodorant, shampoo, conditioner. Went to target twice last month, and nobody could help me find the lume because they didn’t speak English. The teacher gave my third grader a spelling test last week and the words were: “it” “is” “and” and “the” but, they know the acronym for LGBTQIA and they’ll be teaching about masterbation to the fifth graders in Jan… (I’ll be keeping my kids home that day!) and I’d homeschool, but rent is 3,500 for a two-bedroom. And not one thing I wrote is a lie. Yea, I’m ready to say goodbye to California, and yes, it does break my heart. On a side note, yesterday we were driving down the street and noticed a lot of American Flags. I pointed it out to my husband and he agreed. Then we drove by Starbucks that had the HUGE lgbtq in the window and it was gone. All the BLM flags are gone from the neighbors yards. It was odd because I have not been seeing American flags in over two years, but yesterday I noticed then everywhere.

In Florida, the crime rate is at a 50 year low. Ron made this claim, and so he must be doing a great job, right? This fact comes from FBI statistics, and a couple of years ago the FBI changed how the states reported the numbers. It took a while for the states to adapt, but most states, like California, now feed data to the FBI from virtually every jurisdiction within the state. But Florida is different. This year Florida only reported from 8% of their police departments. I don't know if Florida is doing this intentionally, or if they're just incompetent, but claiming that crime is down when 92% of your police departments aren't even reporting their crimes is, at best, dishonest.
