guys like buckley are why i love the attitude of MMA. Man can take multiple losses on the way up, always deliver exiting fights, improve his game and get to title contention. In boxing take a handful of losses early and you get a fast track straight to journeyman level
The best part of MMA IMO, so much so that when I see a prospect who has a couple of losses it makes me more confident that if they lose in the UFC they’ll learn and be better
Oldschool boxing used to be like this though like the 20s 30s 40s 50s and 60s the obsession with undefeated records started later and kept getting worse. Now a boxer loses 1 fight and everyone thinks he’s an absolute tomato can.
Buckley is not only improving his fight skills, but at promoting himself, too. At the April UFC 300 pre-fight presser Buckley stood in line at fan q&a to ask Dana to headline the St. Louis card in May. Originally before Ian was swapped, Buckley promted that fight as the Buck vs the Cuck. Buckley's crowd involvement in his last callout was genius.
Never thought he would get this far either lol but he has impressed me a lot with his last performance, his punches got tighter! Love the videos man keep it up and you’ll do very well
I remember watching the holland fight. Low key thought WW was a worse move cause of they have some tall killers. But WW and he’s killing it. Gonna have a field day until shavkat or Garry get him. MVP would be dope
Honestly He’s a classic. We just don’t know it yet. If you watched MMA fighters back then most of the greats got knocked out and still did great things or went on to become champions. He embodies that spirit in the new age of MMA
@existentiallydead5998 I am guessing he is going off of how fast and how much power he drives in Buckley's fights. Which I can see. But Mike is as you said has a lot better timing and precision. But has has a lot of aggression so he kind of reminds me of the brawlers like Chandler or Gaethje. He isn't them but does come across as those brawler types
He did improve and some of those takedowns looked explosive and scary honestly, But we still have to see him in the later rounds and his last 2 opponents definitely are skilled but were out of prime, but Buckley has fun fights and guy is extremely explosive and athletic and the way he's bounced back from being finished is something to be credited for
Also his fight against Ruziboev wasn't because he had to defend his new ranking spot. Buckley wanted to replace Derrick Lewis as rhe main event so he could main event on his home turf but the only guy they could find for him was ruziboev (who isn't main event worthy) and Buck was more than happy just to be fighting on that card. Great video on one of my favorite fighters!
Buckley is easy to root for and he's always getting better. His combo of strength and endurance is kind of freakish. I think he'd give Belal a run for his money!
Excellent video. The almighty algorithm knows best (sometimes). One piece of constructive criticism: a few times, you repeatedly start a sentence with "So, ..." and it felt... odd? If this was intentional and just a different storytelling device than I'm used to, disregard. But I figured I'd mention it, as it was the only issue I saw in an extremely well-made video.
Bro PLEASE do more fighters just like you did this video. The way you went over every fight straight to the point man I love it. This channel can really grow off this content
It should also be noted that Buckley got the KO over Impa with basically no corner man. He had someone in his corner but it wasn't someone he knew since his actual coach had travel issues.
Add music, or even if you just let the ufc audio of the fight play(like when talking about his kick for expamle). Not sure if that’s DMCA but it would improve your videos. No hate keep it up brother
The resurgence of Joaquin Buckley: Beating older, past-their-prime fighters. The Ruziboev win was pretty good, however, and I do like him in general. Just wish he didn't head hunt as much as he does.
I never knew Buckley fought at 185. That's a major failure from his team. It's not a matter of hindsight, Buckley is far too small for 185 and could fight below 170 even.
You're just a hater, bro. You know Welterweights are more skilled MWs, yet he's dominating. The only reason he lost before was his lack of skill, so he's got better.
guys like buckley are why i love the attitude of MMA. Man can take multiple losses on the way up, always deliver exiting fights, improve his game and get to title contention. In boxing take a handful of losses early and you get a fast track straight to journeyman level
That part. You dont get too cherry pick, but if you improve and start winning you become a championship contender again.
The best part of MMA IMO, so much so that when I see a prospect who has a couple of losses it makes me more confident that if they lose in the UFC they’ll learn and be better
I like that boxing seems to be better for this lately. The fans care more about big fights, than perfect records.
Oldschool boxing used to be like this though like the 20s 30s 40s 50s and 60s the obsession with undefeated records started later and kept getting worse. Now a boxer loses 1 fight and everyone thinks he’s an absolute tomato can.
It depends on the person tbh . Some fighters just aren’t the same after a loss

Hes become one of my favorite fighters over the last 2 years
He genuienly fights like mike tyson
ima go with no, while tysons power and hooks were crazy what really made him successful was his accuracy and his timing.

Nope he's just building tyson in terms of physique
@@existentiallydead5998well tbf in boxing there’s much less things to worry about, so Mike can flow way smoother with his boxing
@@existentiallydead5998how about yes and no. maybe this what Mike would fight like if he fought in mma. Pretty sick
Buckley and Moicano are my favorite fighters to root for right now. It be awesome to see those guys become champions.
Glover, Buckley and KKF.. man it feels good when your favorite fighters have mid-late career renaissance
KKF still needs one more win. Imo
@@Heydude4204yeah I’d say the same. Idk how much it is Steve erceg being good, and how much it is his style matching up well with Pantoja.
@@why-hf6gc like Alex and Routree lol. It’s my favorite thing mma and my least favorite

Crazy to think he hold a loss to Imavov considering how far Imavov’s gone and is about to go if he wins his next fight
I really like this Kid! He’s a monster
He is only 30, he is just now hitting his peak.
So far great video man perfect timing right before i gotta get to bed thank you for the great content!
Give wonder boy his props. He was popping Buckley with that straight.

goated channel and buckley lowkey a great representation of the mma spirit: lose, improve, overcome
Started watching him his last 2 losses at middleweight great to see him now!!!!!!
"resurgence" real ones know he always has the it factor. all it took was a change in weight classes to prove it
my boy buckley ,what a worrior😊😊😊
I saw the fight live and I gotta say I’m definitely a fan of Buckley after watching this video
He has the style to beat WW champ Belal Muhammad
the decision merchant can't be beat
This was a very well made essay. Thank you. Got the sub.
Buckley is a dark horse for sure
been following buckley really close since top of the year after the luque win, great to see him really turn his career around
Solid contender
Great video. Buck been doing his thing I’m happy for him.

he looked a bit like anthony rumble in the last fight
Really good video!!
bruh he looks like my uncle that's why I will always root for him lol
round 3 buckley , new mythical fighter
So happy for Buck!
Have been high on him since de Ruziboev fight.
2025 will be his year!
good narration, subscribed
He’s just gotta stop swinging without protecting himself

if buckley fights leon scott next year, he'll probably going to get picked apart
