I'd like to image that these green cubes are deployed randomly, which makes it more difficult to identify which model is which when it is used in combat.
the fact they all not only look the same but are big boxes means it would be very easy to store a ton of them in say a carrier plane and then just drop hundreds of cubes onto your enemies and they can try shooting them before they land but since they all look the same they wouldnt know which ones TO shoot

Actually, alpha variants are smallest and gamma are the largest. They are represented in lego as the same size for ease of creation
