This was very cute. So nice that they got to appear together this last time, since by the time they did the DVD Show reunion movie a few years later, Morey had already died.
I remember when this aired, it was a favorite episode. What a perfect choice for guest characters, would have been great reoccurring if the show had not stopped.
This was Maury's final TV appearance he would pass way nine months later on October 28th, 1996 at the age of 87. There were only ever be one Human Joke Machine.
Wanna do it? On the desk! 3 screws underneath... that was the next thing we did. 🤣🤣🤣🤣💖💖 I always loved these two and I always will! (I also love how Caroline cried like Mary Tyler Moore at the end.)
I was actually trying to find out what happened to these two when I came across this clip. Never heard of this show, but it was so great seeing these two working together again.
Mololo5555 Yup. According to Rosemarie, they had been good friends since the age of 11 and it was she who insisted that the part of "Buddy" be rewritten from an annoying, overly eager kid to a show biz vet, then pushed for Morey to get the part. Do they even make friends like that any more?
Still razor-sharp comedy timing. The "blue" material was sort of surprising, though. I've seen an interview with Rose Marie saying how much she hated that in modern sitcoms!
@@redrobins731 It's anything that has profanity or sexual references or like that. Old-time comedians called it "working blue". I've read a number of different explanations for why that sort of thing is called "blue", but they're all contradictory. Sorry.
@@johnburnside7828 Thank you; regardless of how it got the name, it’s nice to at least know what the phrase means! I’m inclined to agree with Rose Marie. I’ve been watching The Dick Van Dyke Show for at least a month now, and am currently halfway through season 3. It’s amazing how sharp and cleverly written the series is, yet never has to rely on vulgarity.
@@redrobins731 You're welcome. The Van Dyke Show is one of the best sitcoms ever on TV. Carl Reiner was a genius! I'm old enough that I saw it first run, but I still love to watch it again and again. Glad you've discovered it!
Great to see these two together again. Rose Marie said they had been friends since they were kids, working in vaudeville. Too bad the writing is cheap and tawdry, they deserved better.
Morey is clearly near the end, but he's still got incredible timing. That's innate. He's born with it. What a talent.
These two and Dick made my childhood. RIP to the legends.
And Mary
What incredible comic timing those two old pros have! RIP Rose Marie and Morey....
Morey Amsterdam & Rose Marie had perfect comedy timing. Classic.
This was very cute. So nice that they got to appear together this last time, since by the time they did the DVD Show reunion movie a few years later, Morey had already died.
I cried when they hugged. Miss them both.
I often thought they should have used a different "Buddy" on DVD. Thanks, Morey, for proving me wrong. You're a classic.

I enjoyed that show.
They sound almost exactly the same! And their comedy skills are still excellent.

Huk a Puk !

Even "corn" from Morey was GOLD.
I will always see them as Buddy and Sally
0:15-0:26 when my grandma and grandpa are arguing about getting the door for me spending the weekend with them
They still had it, two comedy professionals playing off each other. They knew each other since they were twelve years old.
Wow! Really?
On the desk, too!
Always loved the two of them together. Thanks much for the post.

Rose Marie and Morey Amsterdam Are Buddy and Sally

Geniuses at work....
at the end she kind of cried like mary tyler moore would
ADORABLE!!
Thanks so much for sharing!
this must have been his final appearance, he was not looking well at all...i love them both, but poor morey looking so ill...RIP MOREY
Benjamin Hill He died only 8 months after this episode aired.
Aw, so sad to see Morey just about delivering his lines like this. A great, great comedian and gag writer, he had a wit as sharp as a knife.
Had two kittens named Buddy and Sally.
That is so sweet!

It's depressing how old they look, considering I have been watching DVD show.
You can tell Morey wasn’t well here. He still has great timing, but almost unrecognizable.
she was SO heavy
that surprised me
Geez Amsterdam looks about 100 years old here
Amazing how sharp witted they still were in their senior years 😁👍🏻
I can just imagine if they dropped a few foul words 😜

Honestly I saw references to the Dick Van Dyke show all through the scene
Maybe since SHE was a kid. The age difference is around sixteen years.
Good Comedy ❤
I always thought Buddy and Sally were married. Surprised to find out otherwise.
jerseytomato100 Buddy was married to Pickles & Sally eventually married Herman Glimshure
@@samjane2410 5 years later but no, we have no canon evidence that Sally married Herman.
@@bingley_musicIf you count the reunion special in 2004 (which was written by Carl Reiner), yes we do.
Wasn't that young woman the mother of Michael J. Fox in "Back To The Future"?
IADORA KELLEY
Yes. That’s Lea Thompson.
it's a shame their immense talents were wasted on a show I never heard of
Most shows after a number of years are forgotten. Nice this show gave these two a final chance...
Didn't he voice Old Joe & the Undertaker in Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol
What does she say at 3:04?
I sounds French, I heard 'amore' which means love,
Lea Thompson is who I mean. Was that her playing the younger woman in this skit?
yes that is her, she did play martys mom
Yes, that was Lorraine Baines McFly :)
LoL. Just, LoL!!!
Take a look at Morey Amsterdam's suit joke.
Is everybody in this building cooking stuffed cabbage?
How to steal a scene.
That's not Morey Amsterdam.
It is, this unfortunately was his last months on earth
@@hardlines4 oh my...ok
give your'e feet a party and invite your'e trousers down, ..
Awful dialogue.
How did Rose Marie live to 94?? Morey looks like Joe Biden without the face lift.
Tho' Rose Marie's hair reminds me of Trump's...
Worst show on telly at the time.
