    Awesome series! just as a couple tips, you can also mine superalloys in the "alien door" cave and sulfur in the desert between the iridium and the osmium caves. Also, to get the terraformation index going quickly you may want to place down dose gas extractors again :) P. S. The satellites cannot be dismantled but they can be looted as a regular box!

    You walked right by 2 more golden chests, one under water in the lush valley area under some rocks. The second was in the grand rift to the left of the iridium cave behind some broken rocks.
    Launch biomass rockets and o2 rockets to speed up your TI to unlock tree spreaders. Golden seeds can be used in the DNA Manipulater to create a hidden tree seed that has a 200% modifier. Yes it sounds like a loss going from 600% fower to 200% tree but the t3 tree spreaders with that special seed give 25000 o2. So it is alot more than 600% in a t2 flower spreader.

    2:00 Use the Zeolite wisely. It will start to spawn in once you get through the "Flowers" terraform stage. It grows on certain vines that you'll find clinging to rocks on the ground. It will NOT respawn, and it cannot be mined (at least not at this point in early access development). It's used to build T2 and T3 tree spreaders mostly, but also one of the rockets, as well a few other things. Once you use all of it, you can't get any more. SO just be careful how you use it.

  • @pauljacobi340
    @pauljacobi340 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    What I found that worked well for me is the various caves/areas that are good for your rarer materials, drop a couple of T2 extractors in them (Osmium, Iridium, Uranium, Super Allow, Aluminum, Sulfer) and then drop a single room base close by and put a shredder in it, among other QoL things. With the shredder, you can pull out just the slag from your extractors and dispose of it. In time, your extractors will be mostly/all full with the desired material. Comes in handy when you want to do major expansion and need 30 super allow, or a bunch or iridium or uranium to make rods from, etc. My base has a single cabinet for each material plus some overage. But, having it readily refillable is nice.

    • @Anson_AKB
      @Anson_AKB 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it's always worth it to test whether something can be built only indoors (eg T1 vegetubes and crafting stations), only outside (eg T3 vegetubes), or both (eg fusion reactors, or cabinets and shredders/recyclers on a platform directly next to a row of miners, and also shredders on the ground between stairs of miners)

    • @joshpatton757
      @joshpatton757 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but you can just put the shredder outside next to the miners. I always position it so I don't need to move to interact with it, just turn and look. I actually kind of with the miners didn't have attached stairs so I could position it better.

    • @telemachbreuer601
      @telemachbreuer601 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      can't help, but I found out the shredder is the most useless item to date. you can just dispose any item in the area and it won't despawn. just for further use

  • @MrDavidMoyer
    @MrDavidMoyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Pro tip: Anywhere you put ore extractors that are pretty far from your main base, build a "large habitat" and include a recycling machine, an advanced crafting station, and a Shredder. Then you can convert those uranium and iridium nuggets into rods (letting you carry them all home in a single trip!), turn the extra minerals into super alloy at the mining site (assuming you bring some aluminum over), and you can destroy any junk items that are clogging up your mining machinery. Also throw in a food grower (BEANS) and atmospheric water collector so you don't die while you're out there working in the mines.

  • @steeljawX
    @steeljawX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So just an FYI that others have probably told you already. But any mineral/ore that a normal meteor storm can bring you is considered a "basic ore". The only other "basic ore" outside that scope is iridium. What this means is that you can set up T1 Ore Extractors in the Aluminium Hoodoo's and Iridium Sand Caves to get aluminium and iridium along side the other more common basic materials. Super Alloy, Sulfur, Uranium, Osmium, and Zeolite are all considered to be "advanced ore" and require a Tier 2 Ore Extractor. So don't limit yourself too hard/think things are too bleak. Just experiment a little with slapping down your ore extractors. If it's different than the iron ore in the bottom right then there's a chance of that ore being mixed into what the extractor mines up.

    23:00 The DNA manipulator converts flower seeds into tree seeds. You need mutagen, tree bark, and a flower seed. Recipes can be found by clicking on the TOP screen, then open the BOTTOM screen to open the machine's inventory. There is a hidden recipe that didn't fit in the recipe list. Golden seed + mutagen + tree bark = tree seed that gives 200% oxygen bonus. Normal seeds give 125% oxygen; mid-level seeds give 150%... so that 200% is better than the rest. Trees don't have that super special 600% bonus like flowers do.

  • @BenHarrold
    @BenHarrold 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The biggest tips I can give is KEEP THE FLOWERS/PLANTS that make the rocket in order to boost (I think) biomass - SEED LIRMA. Do NOT use them to make trees in the DNA Manipulator as this is a waste because once you run out of Seed Lirma, no more rockets of that type. Boosting with rockets is the best way to maximise numbers in TI and the other rockets can be made infinitely, but these ones cannot. Best tip I can give.
    Added: Also, the screen on top the DNA Man is the recipe list. Once the two flower types start growing randomly throughout the world you can make 150% trees with those. All the other recipes give 125% in tree spreaders EXCEPT the 2 secret tree seeds. I think they give 200%. Save Zeolite for T3 Tree Spreaders, it only costs 1 extra T2 Fert compared to T2. No extra zeolite, only the 1 (same for T2) so T3 is far better

    • @Anson_AKB
      @Anson_AKB 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      quartz crystals as well as tree seeds(!) can be recycled to get the resources (zeolite and flower seeds) back if needed later.
      rocket bonus is one of the most important accelerators for Ti, but O2 probably is the one most important stat, and thus (besides some biomass to advance research) i am not sure how many rockets should be invested for biomass instead of making more trees from lirma. and if a future update needs more biomass/rockets, soleus can be recycled to lirma, but lirma that is used for biomass rockets stays gone.

      O2 probably adds most of Ti the fastest, but all four stats are added up to calculate the Ti and thus "every bit counts", besides the research, and we also don't know what the next update will add to the researches and require a lot more ...
      Also always read carefully what the tooltips tell you, eg that the drills add some (25) heat besides the pressure. And over time (even when you have a dozen miners for uranium), you might wish to send rockets to quickly get (without traveling a lot) up to 150+ ore from 4 rockets (bonus stacks and meteors are queued, unless you relog which clears the queue and probably also uncollected ore from meteors), to make enough rods for 5 nuclear generators (5.5 can replace one fusion reactor), and 4 uranium rockets add another 4000% to the heat bonus: 40×25=1000 (heater T4 without bonus gives 538, and also a little pressure).

So I'm imagining at a certain point we get access to that cave which contains a machine that melts ice or something like the movie and finishes the job we started. Of course what it will actually be is just the explanation to why ships etc keep falling out of the sky and we'll still have to do the hard work ourselves.

    If you build Ore extractors in the places where exotic materials are on the ground you mine the exotic materials. Like the sand waterfall area will mine Iridium and the Alien wall cave will mine Super Alloy! Much better to use the T2 Ore extractors though since the mine more of the exotic materials than basic stuff. Edit: nvm 5 minutes later in the video you figured it out! XD

    The way that the super alloy meteor shower works is that the meteors come in fast and numerous, like you saw; but most of the debris (and unfortunately, the super alloy too) despawns pretty quickly. Basically a minute or so after the shower everything is gone - so if you want to grab as many as possible, you need to go out during the shower and risk your health.

    the large mass of ice near starting point is great for mining aluminium. tier 1 miners is enough..

    Put either a tier one or tier two ore extractor in the area you were in at 18:00 in the video. That is where your aluminum comes from. Also you can take everything you get from that extractor to craft super alloy on your tier two crafting workbench.

    Zeolite is finite, you only get a small amount in the game. Don't go too crazy with it, you'll need it for T3 tree spreaders. You can use the T2 miner get super alloy in the cave with the door. Use the 600% plants ing the manipulator to get 200% trees.

    To clarify the meteor shower. The light purple sky with the dozens of meteors with green trails does in fact spawn a super alloy from each meteor that lands. However, they also despawn very quickly. The easiest way to gather them is to turn screen shakes down to zero and be out in the storm with a food item or two to survive in case you get hit.

      high risk, less important reward if you make alloy yourself instead of shredding all "junk ore" or when having T2 alloy miners.
