My sister used to bake professionally and the belly cake was her most requested baby shower cake! It represents the beauty of a pregnant belly and combines it with fun. Love it!

Gender reveals are silly and stupid and shouldn’t be a thing (thats what speaking to friends and family is for and gender reveals grow out of the social media need for constant attention. It’s definitely a fad as well) but this could be for a baby shower. But cutting into a pregnant torso is so damn creepy. This kind of cake has been around for several years so the awesome Ms Reardon is showing how to make it instead of paying out the nose for it. And to be creative. She didn’t invent it though.

So cute! I made about 4 or 5 of these types of cakes over the time I sold custom cakes. They are mostly requested for baby showers, sometimes I matched the cake dress to the pattern the mum was going to wear to the party. They are cute cakes, don't know why people think they're so "terrifying". If a customer wants a belly cake, you make a belly cake. Doesn't make much difference if it gets hacked into, it's just cake. **For transport, I suggest using a dowel thru each breast, so they don't slide off the base cake during delivery**
do you have a video on natural food colouring? like dried fruit powder etc? would be really nice to know what natural colours are available and what you have to keep in mind while using them!

I have decided that I would be that baker who wouldn’t bake “gender reveal” cakes. I’m hoping that because this was three years ago there has been some enlightenment on this subject of assigning gender based on appearance of external genitalia at birth.... What a ghastly proposition. Not fun. Ghastly. And potentially deadly if your child is not binary or cisgender. Just shaking my head at the needless negative consequences for so many children. 1% of 7B is a LOT of people.

What Ann has done is nothing new except the innovative and creative way people can make the insides now instead of just a plain typical, boring round cake with pink or blue inside. BRILLIANT!

I'm just doing one for my Aunt and she's having a girl so we made the inside pink and the dress red too. We made a second one with my mom and me and we did the same cake but we tried to put inside baby things (IT was kinda hard because it sticked up) but we added another layer it was really thin so we tried not to break it, and it looked pretty nice!
