    Was touring Bodega Bay a few years ago, and Tippi was there signing autographs. Got a nice 8 by 10 glossy of her and Hitch. Very gracious lady.

    I got driven through Bodega Bay in 1970, when I was 16, and I was really pleased to see the actual Tides Restaurant.

    Tippi Hedren and Suzanne Pleshette should have been cast in other movies, they are mesmorizing together as friends.

    I love those scene transitions with the flying birds!

      Thanks! We were looking for something really different for this series about SanFrancisco, but trying to stay true to the Hitchcock/Saul Bass type of movie titles and transitions.

    to think that Hitchcock made Vertigo, North By Northwest, Psycho, and The Birds in succession is a little hard to believe. No director in the history of film had a run of truly classic films like that.

    I was visiting Bodega Bay in 2014, and Tippi was at a table signing autographs on glossy 8 X10s. I picked the one with her and Hitchcock. Still a very lovely lady.

      Did you know she was going to be there ? Was it a 'promotional' for a book or (a slightly late) 'The Birds' 50th anniversary release?

    • @davidcawrowl3865
      @davidcawrowl3865 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing promotional, she loves going back to Bodego Bay a couple times a year, or so she said in another video, and will set up a table for signatures. $25 per--sweet deal.

      Thats cool, I see she still appears in a film occasionally - I didn't realise till I saw the 'making of' on the DVD that it is a real town....

    • @davidcawrowl3865
      @davidcawrowl3865 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A real , almost boring, little town, lol.

    • @andchat6241
      @andchat6241 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it expensive to live there? & would you recognise any of it from what you see in the film ( I know Hitchcock matted a lot of it & compressed certain areas). He didn't like filming in 'real locations' if he could do something on a soundstage...

  • @annmacleod1099
    @annmacleod1099 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like the sceneries of the locations used in this film in .the country side . It's not my world that you think is going to end it's your world that's going to end .

    Fellini thought The Birds was one of the ten most beautiful movies ever made (!). Ingmar Bergman was, surprisingly, a big Hitchcock fan, especially how he used cinematic means to tell a story instead of dialogue. Bergman's Passion of Anna with its tensions and complex romantic relationships taking place on a desolate island while a mysterious psychopath is wantonly killing and maiming animals is NOT that far from Bodega Bay and the contrast of interpersonal conflict and an outside frightening menace.

    God, she was beautiful.
    Suzanne Pleshette was even sexier and more beautiful.
    Why can't we have actresses like this anymore? It's too bad Hitchcock ended her career, but at least it ended in style. I heard she called him a fat pig . . lol!!
    Charlize Theron is one of the few great actresses of our time. Had Hitchcock been alive he certainly would have cast her in something. Unfortunately my most recent memory of her is her bathing herself in a grungy gas station in dirty underwear in the movie; "Monster".
    Brilliant acting. It's right up there with all of the great character performances by all of the great actors of our time.
    Unfairly and chauvinistically of me though; the image of that scene is a bomb going off in my eyes.
