@@jamesmoore1341 I've done it a couple of times. Will it clean it for good? Not for me, but I have no problem paying a little over $20 and cruising in the car a bit. Since the cat can trip the check engine light if it performs at least than 95%, trying the lacquer thinner can't hurt. Much cheaper than replacing the car, that's for sure.

@@precool , run your fuel tank down to 1/4 tank pour the CATACLEAN in & run it as low as possible before refueling. Afterwards just clear any codes & too off tour tank. Ive used this on my 2006 5.3 GMC SIERRA about 3 weeks ago & no code for the O2 sensors or catalytic converter have been on since. This will be my GO TO from now on.
@@jamesmoore1341 Oh man. Thanks. I did it exactly as directed. The power during the 1/4 tank was insane. I didn’t clear the codes at that point. I was driving about 100 miles to Greenville. I topped off and the codes stayed on. After burning that tank, the only noticeable difference I’ve had is better starts. They are still not easy starts but I’m happy for that improvement. I also changed the oil etc. Going into the shop tomorrow hoping it’s a minor fix. Bent line, loose vacuum hose, something that won’t wipe me out. Thanks so much. My girlfriend has a Yaris that could use a good cleaning like this. I put some Lucas in last year and she was shocked how preppy the car was! 🏁🏁🏁

In fairness, What condition was the converter? Slightly dirty to the point of throwing a code for the first time. Clogged beyond no return after running with a code for several months. "Mechanic in a Can" will not fix broken or destroyed converters.

I hate to tell you this folks. But my twenty-five years of experience with dealing with catalytic converters, from an automotive repair aspect. There is nothing that's going to clean your catalytic converter. In fact... A dirty catalytic converter is the least of your worries. 95% of all catalytic converter failures happened because of damage to the outside casing of the converter. Even though it is metal, Platinum inside. It is still fragile. There is no catalytic converter on the market that. That can take an impact, from an object, at 45 to 100 miles an hour. That just doesn't happen. Anything that impacts your catalytic converter hit like a bullet. But even more so... It's a metal... So it rots. When this metal rods or gets broken inside due to damage. The exhaust pushes those fragments down into your muffler. And reversion occurs. Because the exhaust gases cannot Escape, out of the muffler... Because your catalytic converter is stuffed in it. Then the air just like a trip electricity, uses least path of resistance to escape out of the engine. That is usually through the intake. Cars are not like people. There are no pills to cure your problems. You need three things to do that... A good mechanic, parts, and money. Because all that garbage on the shelves at the automotive aftermarket retailers... Are all designed to keep you in the zone. Now I know... There's going to be a million people who come in here and tell me that I'm wrong. You're going to tell me how great some pill worked on their car. But for every one person you're going to that's going to tell me that. They successfully ran their cars on a pill... Or fix their cars with a pill... I can show you entire junkyards full of cars... that didn't. Doctors, spin people in circles and push them out the door with prescriptions in their pockets. Mechanics diagnose and solve problems. Bottom line. We are not doctors... We are technicians. We fixed the problem. The first time... Or we don't get paid. And if the American Medical Association had to do things the exact same way that we do... By law... They would have a bunch of dead people buried in their backyards. Oh wait... They already do. We have to listen to you, with the intention to understand. They have to listen to you that. With the intention to respond. There's a big difference... pills in cars do not work. Ask any good mechanic, ask any dealership, ask any manufacturer... They will all tell you the same. Notice how all of your race cars... NASCAR specifically... Doesn't have catalytic converters on their race cars? Do you know why that is? Because they're burning all of the air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber. You're literally giving away my fucking right... So you can collect one 100,000 of a particulate matter of unburned gasoline... Think about that. Why not just burn all of the fuel... And call it a day? Two answers dot-dot-dot Japan. And China. They have scrap metal. They have garbage metal. If you put the same spark plug out of a Chevy 350 from 1970, in your Jap crap right now... It would melt that sucker down before you got done paying off The loan. But if you really want to save the automotive industry... kick the country of California out from underneath the hood. In fairness, Cataclean is the best. We use it on all our vehicles, boats too! Never fails, cleans out the carbon build up. Cleans the whole system.

MMO works really good just put like 12 onz and premium gasoline, run the car for an hour in highway preference and will be fine if it's not to bad
I use Marine outboard two cycle TCW3 oil at 1oz per 5 gallons of gasoline. Been doing it for years. Walmart is the best place to buy outboard oil.
1 gallon of Lacquer thinner per 10 gallons of gasoline works best IMO
