16:50 I'm not sure u or Alex were looking at the stack sizes. Coins has 1300 left into 3.6k on the river. Alex could have bet tiny on the turn and still easily jammed the river. betting large on the turn here just makes it so that we cannot have bet folds in our range. On the turn, if Alex bets 500 instead of 1000 the pot will be 2600 and coins will only have 1.6k, still an easy not even pot Jam. The problem with what you are saying is that it is a play that works in a vacuum, when you have an over pair and when villain has solely a J+high kicker. This is very very unbalanced and exploitable as we cannot realistically bluff the turn for 1000 without pot committing ourselves. This is a sizing that none of our range actually wants to use except over pairs. Think if u had 76s for a gutter on the turn, you would never want to bet 1000 and have to bet-fold for the remaining 1300 into such a large pot. By betting about a quarter pot on the turn, we lose no value from Jx, additionally we may get some calls from TT, 99, and even some 8x depending on how sticky coins is, also this size allows us to keep villains range wider going to the river, while leaving more money behind to put maximum pressure on him with our bluffs.
Alex tabled his QQ before Coins threw his calling chip in as he fumbled it. I couldn't see coins mouth the word call so he could have totally angled and kept his chips at the end.
I agree that he missed out on value on the first hand but these two hands were totally different. I agree with your analysis that he should have bet the turn when Coins checked when a blank came in but once you get check raised on the flop you have to proceed with a little bit of caution but at least he got in a good sized value bet on the river. The top notch players would bet the turn against a rec player and if you want to get better, you definitely have to bet the turn. The second hand was very straight forward and any decent player would get maximum value in that spot especially with that runout. Question would be what do you do if the river is a king? Do you check behind or shove?

Bart, do you make that call on the river there with AJ?

Kind of annoyed that Coins greens are all behind his wall of reds...
Don't worry, at the end of the video they are in Alex's stack instead. :)
I was too, but the poker gods exacted retribution.
