1.Maybe adding a Hand number for the session? 2.Adding on the name color scales in the background like the one used In Excel for conditional Formatting.(Red to Green indicating losing to wining) This way viewers have an idea when this hand took place and what was the ''state'' of the player...(so we know if the player feels more like bluffing etc chasing losses)
i think the river check is very good as Phil's range shouldn't really include the big aces that you included as the action was opened in the hijack. i think that AT AJ AQ are perfect squeeze candidates and this middling board smashes his range as he's calling down out of the straddle plus spades brick out and bones doesn't block any spades
Just curious, since Phil seems to be a regular at this table; did you clue him in that you were going to discuss this hand? Or does everyone at this table know that they may be considered on your vlogs?
More great content! What can Phil's top 2 pair beat apart from a missed flush draw and an Ace strong kicker? Would most players even check-raise AK-AT (not even counting the fact that anyone as aggressive is likely to have bet such a hand aggressively earlier). You made the point in your comentary with Mike in a TCH 6-hour webcast of the importance of continually replaying the action on earlier streets. This is invaluable advice.
Bart love the videos can't wait to see you at the felt one day. And once again welcome to the land of chicken fried steaks, live music and juicy poker games. TCH Live is a great stream Crush it and...Bgood
I don't think river call is necessarily a mistake. This spot is pretty bluffable. You can checkraise this river with nut blockers or busted draws like 66 or 45ss, and there's quite a lot of those is his opponent's range.
I have watched a few of your videos over the past weeks talking about hands etc... I got value out of each video but I struggled with the idea that if we took a few other pros into exactly the same position you are explaining would they have the same opinion or preach the same actions etc... ??? IM not so sure. Poker is not an exact science as peoples personalities come into play around the table. I will tell you why Im writing you. I am not a pro nor do I aspire to be. But I do play regular with a group in my area. I am considered one of the top local players (which is meaningless in our small area). In the past 6 months my defensive game has gone to shit! I cant figure out what has changed. I usually defend instinctively and can avoid big hits against stronger hands. But I have lost that ability in the past 6 months and Im getting creamed. My offensive game is good. I can get paid. But I have been losing my ass to big hands that I feel are not there. I no longer can trust my instincts on defense. I now have to find some mechanics to rely on to prevent these giant hits I have been taking. Im searching for the exact science to save me I guess is what Im saying and I was hoping I might find that in your tutorials. My question is, speaking defensive game only, if we took the top 10 pros and had them do a break down how to defend against any given table and any given hand, how different would each be? How much does defense walk off the beaten path of math and science? Would every pros game plan be different on defending any specific hand? Or would they all be similar. Thank you.
have you heard of the "Small Ball" approach, originally promoted by Daniel Negreanu (I'm pretty sure there is a whole book on it)? essentially it boils down to checking and calling a lot to keep pots from ballooning, c-betting smaller for the same reason, and just generally trying to play smaller pots...i haven't read the book myself but i've watched probably a couple hundred hours of him playing, and Doyle and others were following that general style, at least in those days... when you have 6 figures on the table, avoiding variance becomes a concern... anyways it sounds like they learned your style and the fact you will pay off big bets a lot. you gotta stop paying them off all the time. rec players, by and large, don't do a lot of serious bluffing, unless the stakes are litterally nickels and dimes maybe.. what kind of buy-ins are involved in your game?
@@compteofficiel4112 I have not heard specifically of the small ball approach but oddly enough, as you describe it, is exactly what I did last night. It worked out for me last night but Im uncomfortable with it because I play with a lot of chasers and it gives them a cheap chance to catch. Historically. if your chasing on me I make it hurt so bad its not usually wort it. I will never be a poker pro. I dont read people well enough. But I dont rely on a lot of luck to get ahead either. Thank you for your reply. I may very well read up on the small ball approach as a tool to get me through a rut. Have a great week end.
@@timothyjones9430 Small ball is much stronger in tournaments too than it is cash. In cash you want to charge people the maximum to chase draws so that they lose in the long run if they do decide to chase.
I have watched some of the streams and Bones seems like the most agro player in all lineups. Snap is understandable. Honestly I think it is hard to fold here vs Bones, the guy has shown himself to have a little too much moxie to do anything else. And if you are not folding, and not counting combos, then just snap it off.
Doesn't having a X/R range here increase our EV dramatically? We hardly have any value hands to bet very big on this river (65, JTo, 44) that don't block the opponent's calling range (2 pair, AT), so we can only bet, at most, a medium sizing against solid opponents. Consequently, the IP player will almost never raise a medium bet (even with 2 pair) to increase our EV. The X/R seems like a good way out of this weird situation, especially when the IP player is capable of thin value betting (AJ-AT, weakest two pairs) or bluffing a made hand (T8, T7, ...) and/or IP player is not capable of raising a small (inducing) river bet with 2 pair.
I enjoyed the live stream, you made a few good folds, and you didn't seem to get much to work with. I get to listen to your call in show on the way home from the office, then watch the live stream while I grind.
@@CrushlivePoker splitting the hole cards on the right and left of the screen is weird. I feel like I don't know what's going on HU. Like, my eyes are darting back and forth. The stacked arrangement, I find, is easier to read. Thanks!
Im trying to get them to put seat number stickers or patches on the rail in front of each player so that when the screen goes split that the viewer has a reference.

I bet you like those home prices in Austin compared to California.

also BB can have lots of missed flush draws or anything really and you induce the bluff,I like the CR here a lot
If you do not have enough value hands then bet big with value, go polo. Do not take the nuts and put it into a range sizing for balance.

Hang on, I have to swallow 10 times during this video.
So Bart, since you moved there, this is where all the easy money, correct?
Mike Hunten move to Austin had nothing to do with poker. More lifestyle.
i don't see how you could fold A9 on the river there
They really need to change their hole card display.
what do you mean? What dont you like about it? I know the owner and the guying running the show so I can make suggestions.

Chael Sonnen teaches poker?
Wow... fold for value... sick term lol
wasn't that "check/raise/fold for value"?
@@compteofficiel4112 yes, inwas being serious though lol I've never thought of that
