Hey, nice video and thanks for the content. I agree, interceptor is probably your best bet. I just wanted to make you aware of a slight mistake in your analysis (I don't know if it will change your mind on anything). Suneisis has a flat 25% bonus. Astero has 7.5% per advanced frigate defense level. So if you have 5 in advanced frig defense, its bonus is 37.5%. The explorers are 5% per level, total 25%. But with only 2 mid slots... not great.
Yep! My bad. In my defense, I was on my 3rd Guiness hahah. Yeah another thing which slipped my mind with the explorers is that you can only do targeted exploration (i.e. just data sites or just relic sites). Thanks for pointing it out. I always appreciate quality feedback 👍 Cheers
@GicaForta I can hear NetEase now, "we've decided not to make any changes to the Tech10 exploration ships because our data shows that no one flies them. No one uses them for actual exploration. Therefore, the players must not want any changes to these ships. Perhaps in May of 2023, we will look at some changes. In the meantime, here's a new exploration capital ship! We know you've all been waiting for that!"
Hey, thx for the awesome vid, but I think you missed the part which ppl site-gank explorers in asteros with at least 2 warp scram fitted. With proper fittings the astero can instant lock +anti-warp interceptors and blow them up in pieces. Just a heads-up of another factor when picking scanning ships. If theres any good idea countering astero site ganks please drop a reply, thx!
Idk. I used an astero and lost it in a gatecamp due to lag. Now I use an interceptor and I haven’t had any problems ever since. Rule number one of solo exploration, you don’t explore if there’s somebody else in the system
I have been using the hound 2 for exploration. With 3 t3 grab rigs and 554 in skills I can scan all the sites down. Much cheaper to loose than an astero and most people don't think of a bomber as going for exploration sites so I don't get hunted all to often.
I definitely agree. It's what I used on day one on the exploration patch. Especially when they refused to 'fix' the exploration frigates. NE also screwed the pooch when they limited SoE (and Mordu's) ships to battlegrounds rewards. In the end it doesn't matter what ship is used, because exploration sites are still hard-locked on that 4-day respawn timer. So asinine.
I do a scanning roam once a week. I’m happy with what I find and make a good profit. The sites and items being so rare actually helps with keeping their prices up on market. Otherwise we’d have the same problem with the rest of the stuff that is found in abundance
@@GicaForta Some rarity certainly helps. I think they need to adjust the respawn a bit. I like Benzie's idea of a new data/relic site spawning in the same constellation system after finding and completing the site already there. Perhaps add a few hours timer to this as well.
What is your Spin about the new T5 rigs I am starting to hear about? I've heard they are starting to appear and need a lower scan Radius. Wondering if raising your Scanning to 555 would benefit things even more for Interceptors. Btw I've used both an Astero and Slasher Interceptor as explorers.
They don’t work / don’t exist. From what I understood out of all the post patch fuss and discussions, it was a sham.. or maybe something lost in translation.. but no, did not found cans with T5 hacking level needed and no they don’t need lower scan radius. 75m using ceptor is still the way to go
@@GicaForta Good to know. I did rig an Astero with Shield rigs that shot its recharge to a level of 1.12 seconds, but that won't stop my cap from draining to zero then dead if I get webbed, but I shall shift my rigs to my Slasher Interceptor so I can still escape the bubbles.
Overkill. 75m is the lowest a site can have. So the ship can have 74.95 which is the value you get with a standard t7 interceptor with 3 x mk3 scanning rigs and 5/5/4 scanning skills :))) ceptors are still the best ships for you xploration
Hey man, thx for the vid. I have a question, are we sure we have to get below 75 or it should be lower. I have this question bc Nihilus t10 requires to exclude 3 signal but I never found a debris or a data that requires that, max 2 signals in zig zag. Maybe the solution is to lower the minimum radius required so interceptor cant do it
Yes. I’ve tested on the test server. The hardest data sites are called “Central Data Processing” and the hardest relic sites are called “Ruined Crystal Quarry” and if you don’t have minimum scan radius < 75m, you won’t find them
From a recent DEATH Experience I do not recommend the Sunesis unless your Bubble avoiding skills are expert. I passed through one on my way into nullsec but made the mistake of returning the same way. Cost me my Explorer Wide Scanner and my Shovel Relic Anylizer as well as the insurance to recover the ship. I will tell you, instead of paying hundreds of millions of isk to buy the best Scanners and Anylizers try this: Buy up either Veteran or Survivor Crates at last check were around 50M each. Got an Explorer Wide Range Scanner and the Shovel Relic Anaylizer. Later I got my the best Data Anaylizer the same way. Running an Interceptor is definately the best way to go.
We don’t have directional scanners yet. With that you could avoid pretty much every gate camp. If you played eve online, directional scanner is on board ship scanner (no fitting) that allows you to scan in the direction your camera is pointing. You can scan an cone opening in front of you, of radius in degrees, at max range of 14AU. Scan is instant and tells you what objects are in space in that cone. No info on players or anything else, just objects in space like ships, bubbles, drones, stations etc
Hey I just discovered the game and started the tutorial missions so I’m just absorbing the material right now to learn. Heya o7 welcome to New Eden. Sure, there’s plenty of newbie friendly corporations out there. Unfortunately mine is pretty hardcore as we live in nullsec (aka the badlands, no man’s land etc). I think we need random rats in exploration sites. Imagine failing with one cargo container and spawning 1 - 3 random but powerful rats... Or decloaking a warp gate or being able to find data of a special site that can be found somewhere in the same constellation... Or maybe data sites in Nihilus space with multiple entrances! While I would agree with you, I’d like to point out another flaw of EE’s can hacking mechanic. The attempts count and then the cans going boom is bullcrap. I mean the sites are already rare enough… having the cans go boom via RNG is just dumb.. at least introduce a minigame or a timed puzzle where your skills as a gamer would actually matter. So if you fail and the can blows up it’s actually a lesson and personal experience gained on how to get better and not to fail the next one. And fail hack attempts blowing up dealing damage to your ship or spawning npcs, would make sense afterwards in special sites like puzzle rooms (make use of that awesome game resources called nihilus space), like figure out what item to put in a container to enable a portal device or close down a leaking pipe from a space silo that was covering the final loot cans with a radioactive cloud etc. but standard sites, they should make these proper first and put in some good mechanics to give players the ultimate experience. I’m telling you, so much can be done in this game to make it beautiful, then new players would just flock here and never leave
