    One thing to keep in mind. Remember all those miners you were killing in low sec the past 4-5 months? Yeah, you don't. Because they're either in high sec or null sec. We pretty much know to either be on high alert, which is not a thing when playing a mobile game, or to not be there. Low sec now offers the same reward for an infinite amount of risk, especially since story runners have to take into consideration how they will compromise their PvE fitting in order to deal with the threat of other players. This absolutely will lower the dps of the ship that that is running the story, it will make them have to stay in the mission much longer, and the crux of it all... whether you escape or not, they now have a bookmark of the mission. So, yeah, you can spend the next 10 days trying to avoid people who can already just warp to the bookmark and new players scanning you down. Or you can do the smart thing, which is find something else to do. Right now, null sec is high sec. You can stay in your own little pocket of sovereignty space where your alliance pretty much scares everyone else off and you are free to rat and mine as you please with huge amounts of payoff. That is the basis of resources that pvp players are coming from, and why they have no issue taking risks and killing people. Coming from high/low standpoint, you have no extra resources to spare. You're coming from high sec to run a mission in low sec for a big payoff. Now that big payoff is highly mitigated by other players with a specific build to kill you just passing by, throwing out a scan, and warping to your PvE content.
    The one point I'm trying to make is simply put. Low sec still has mission runners. But within a few weeks those people will move on to other, more profitable things. You're having fun because most story runners are slow to catch on, because they've been doing it for so long. When even the most stubborn ones figure out there is no money to be made without giant losses cancelling it out, not to mention the extra time you spend in story missions dodging people and with a lower dps count in order to counter scanning, low sec will be back to square one. There will be no more pvp fun as those still running missions will be prepared and more than likely no longer there to kill since there's more isk to be made elsewhere. Pvpers in low sec are living on a very short-lived high, and it's kinda sad they don't see that returning to equilibrium is the way of all things. By all means, enjoy it while it lasts. As for me, my highsec manufacturing empire is about 30 days away from going nuclear with the advent of covetor 2, and being able to acquire mk9 loot in high sec encounters for semi-massive amounts of zydrine and megacyte.

      That’s true. But players have adapted in other ways as well. I stumbled upon a deathstar of 5-10 battleships with guardian, running stories one after the other. If you’d just try something funny, they’d nuke you from the sheer alpha damage 😅 mission documents are now cheaper on market. Which means players willing to go in groups buy a bunch of those, and run them in less time + 6 fleet member? Run 6 stories. So each member gets like a full mission’s rewards.
      But yeah, I’m disappointed about no solo content for exploration.

    • @CodeguruX
      @CodeguruX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GicaForta One other thing to keep in mind. The amount of people able to run the 4m-20m missions in lowsec has now drastically fallen since they too are prone to being scanned. The population of those simply completing the encounters in order to sell the mission tickets is going to drop as well with a combination of less reward for more risk. More things are going to change as people adapt and pick up other income gathering strategies while abandoning ones that are losing steam.
      After trying out blue scanning for a while, I was actually able to find that even farming rich scordite, in a v3 with little to no mining skill, had netted me about 24m worth of minerals in 3 loads. This is something people can do without risk and completely within highsec. When you enter the main mining area gate inside Nihilus space, you are able to be killed, but more than likely you could mine there with relative ease as long as you keep aware. Or people can simply go exploring again to find another mining gate once the initial safe area belt is clear. On top of that, they have barred barges from being to enter any of the gates I've tried. So many starting miners can now make relative decent profit in their ventures while exploring, leaving the normal belts to the higher tier barges. It is disappointing I can't use my best mining ships to mine, but ultimately we will have more belts to mine, and less ventures draining all of our pyro and dark ochre before we even have a chance to blink. So, possibly viable solo solution for miners seems to be present in Nihilus space, but it's only going to help move people away from low sec death costs, lower the amount of missions on the market people were farming, and thereby force mission runners to farm their own mission tickets. Pvpers definitely have the advantage in low sec content now, so there is even less reason for PvE players to be there or farm for missions to run there.

    1) You can press the scan button from the universe map. That will open your current system.
    2) The issue you were seeing that you attributed to the cloak was in fact because you didn't have the blue scanner equipped and you were on the exploration tab. You will get the same error message inside the scanning screen as you would in the main HUD if you had the module equipped.
    Otherwise, a very solid guide, thanks Gica.

      In the main hud the error message is different tho 😜 this is why it’s a bug. Map scan button doesn’t know you’re specifically cloaked most likely. But pretty much yeah, that’s what I also said 😁

    • @GicaForta
      @GicaForta  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A nihilus space has multiple entry points (can jump inside from multiple systems). If anyone else happens to find an entrance leading to the nihilus pocket you are in, if he goes in and starts exploring the rooms, yeah. They’ll find you.

    8:50 no sir sometimes 3 also come up if you scan down small ships/rare sites with minimum skills. 2 will come up if there is a ship and 1 noise will come up if it's an outpost/the ship fled before scanning.

    • @GicaForta
      @GicaForta  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How many noise signals you get to solve, depends on how big the difference is between your scan radius (not minimum), and source radius of whatever you’re scanning. The mininum scan radius dictates if something is detected at all or not.

    I think there are some people in this game who never played much of any other mobile game at all, and they find all these mechanics are fair and logical but when you look at it from an outside perspective, losing hours on a mobile game just to get wrecked can make it look more like some sort of useless learning job rather than a fun experience.
    Or perhaps it just wants to pull your wallet out. Who knows. Eve evolves naturally.

    Why is it that griefers always call the mission runners bots? And that encounters are risk free? They aren't. I'm not the genius that you are...
    Great video. Thanks

    • @GicaForta
      @GicaForta  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There used to be entire bot farming operations, characters named the same + numbers at end, they had some special hours in which they functioned, they would all undock at the same time in trainer cruisers with minimal fits and would complete encounters one after the other. The flaw in their script was they were accepting fleet invites and that’s how we were able to nail them at first. Then I found a reddit post where someone had released a new version of the script so that the bot farms would “click” on “no” instead of yes. Then scanning came and we were finally able to wipe the mission running bots out of lowsec. But scanning also facilitated griefers to get normal folks too and that’s how lowsec mission running became risky. Before, it was risk free. Cheers

    Wait a second, I was under the impression that the Warning is going to show up WHEN you actually CLICK the scanning module for all the players that are under that Alert Source Radius threshold in that system. So before you go into the system view and try to analyze the frequency. Did I get this wrong?
    Also, would have been cool to ask a friend to scan you down (or scan yourself from another account) just so we can see what the "victim" might see when he is getting scanned. When does he get the Alert and how does it look?
    Because you did mention at the end (with the Tornado story) that you "have been getting notifications that this area was being scanned". So which one is it? Area or particular ship frequency?
    So please, get a corp friend to scan you down and let us know exactly how the "victim view" looks like.

    • @GicaForta
      @GicaForta  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Victim gets the alert when you complete the analysis. That’s when the comparison between the source radius and signal radius is calculated
      When you reveal a signal you reveal all ships that sit in the same spot. That’s why the workaround of getting warnings while doing stories in battleships, is to keep an account with a frigate along side you.
      When the signal is revealed, the radius calculation is done against all ships present in that spot

    • @ToastedSynapseGaming
      @ToastedSynapseGaming 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GicaForta Ok. I just wanted to be sure, since I wanted to post this reply (copy pasted from another of my comments):
      It will cost very little time and ISK for people that Multibox while doing PvE in Low Sec, because, for example: A Slasher II will get notified if the area is being scanned, but something like a Dominix won't. So people can just run 2 accounts and fly the ships together, keeping that small frigate in the area just so THEY will get notified if there's a scanner in the system, then you can warp out to a safe place. So all you need (sadly it has come to this) is:
      - A new Alpha account (don't even need Omega)
      - Have it train in the background for frigate skills or whatever until Tech Lvl 4. (Right now, by joining a Corp it's instant Tech 4, with Tech 5 after like a day of waiting)
      - Get a Slasher II (you don't even need higher) for like 1.2 Million ISK (next one would be the T5 Probe Cov Ops = 8.5 Mill ISK if you really want cloaking)
      - Get 2 Cheap lvl 2 Source Radious Rigs from the market - 1 Mill ISK for both (honestly even lvl 1 could work - 160K ISK)
      - If you want some other cheap modules, go ahead, but not really necessary.
      - Now the Slasher II has a default Source Radious of 125m, with 1 Rig 12.5% that's -15.6m = 109.4, minus another 12.5% (13.7m) = 89.7m (but like I said, even 2 lvl 1 Rigs could work -> 101m)
      - I doubt any scanner can get past that Alert if you fly this ship. So they were complaining about people doing AFK ISK farming in Low Sec, well now it will be the opposite, not only you'll be required to look at your screen, but at two screens (prioritizing the one with the Slasher) and getting the frack out of there if you get a scan alert. (which I wish you would have shown in the video - I think it's important. Get a corp buddy and let him scan you down). Btw: Here's a screenshot of the notification imgur.com/gallery/KqCeQOc
      - So in total, about 2 Million ISK will solve your "afraid I'll be blown up" problems, but you do have to Multibox and pay attention. I'm not sure the devs intended this, but pay attention to the Mission Scroll market, see how it went down and now it's coming back up. Well, the only explanation is that people found a way, and this is a way that's NOT including any other players, because you'll have to cut them a share of the profits.
      - And it's technically not Illegal, as you can have 2 phones (if they deem Emulators illegal) and they can't prove that the 2nd phone isn't just your little brother in a T4 ship trying to help you out.
      - Final TIP: Don't have the ISK on your new alpha account? Not to worry, you can easily "Transfer" funds from your other account by simply getting some valuable items on your main account, flying near a planet in High Sec in a low pop system and jettisoning that loot near your Slasher Ship Account. They pick it up, sell it to a Buy Order and bam, funds deposited.

    Love the scanners, and funny your story about the interceptor fleet, and the cynibal and ash rocked up. I would say scanning is a little bit overpowered that said I do love a good hunt and can quite happily scan down cruisers in my ashimmu without them getting any notification are rather medocre skills.
    The amount of people with crime timers in local is funny and a good indication of how dangerous low is along with the red blops on the map. I do think I will start trying some encounters in something like a Dramiel as hopefully they are a bit harder to scan down, and I can hunt the hunters in it.

      @@GicaFortaI am sure many new players were dreaming of owning a battleship to solo story missions. Now it doesnt seem worth the time. Look at it from the other side. PVE is PVE only npcs. Its not PVEP

      Well, after 4 days… I noticed this. Pve runners very hard to catch. With escape rigs (warp stab). Aaaaand [drum sounds] fleets of players. 5-10. A deathstar of battleships and battlecruisers… you try anything funny, you instantly pop from alpha damage 😬 from what I can see, this created an impediment for players but made them more active, and brought them together. I dunno. So there’s good things and bad things. I understand both of them. We’ll just have to monitor playerbase numbers and see how this goes. In any case, it’s out of our hands. This is part of the game now. So we either keep playing… or not. It’s our choice as a customer.
