Now, after hundreds of packs and updates, The Sims 4 runs just as poorly as The Sims 3, so it's clear that the removal of the open world and create-a-style was not the solution of a lag-free game that does not crash. EA needs to take responsibility for their mediocre programming, development and optimization issues instead of blaming it on the hardware accessibility of the playerbase.
That's what I was thinking too. It's really frustrating to deal with a game company like that. That's why I already gave up on TS4 and I'm waiting for some better content in TS5 and Paralives. I tried to keep my interest in this game, but I've reached my limit. 😢
I had to get rid of sims 3 on my computer just for some updates… We should be playing sims 5 or 6 by now, or sims 3 or 2. Sims 4 gets a decade of content and sims 2 and 3 get four years. I’d of loved a decade of content for sims 3 or 2. I like playing the sims 4 but I’m usually so tired to play after makeovers to townies where as I didn’t have that problem in sims 3 because I enjoyed playing the sims afterwards and in sims 2 when testing out the mod I downloaded, I basically played the game for hours after testing the mod.
It also doesn't help that Sims 3 runs on 32-bit. This doesn't allow it to take full advantage of computers with higher RAM capacity. If only the devs thought about this back in the late aughts and made the base game run at 64-bit instead.
Sims 3's only problem was it was ahead of its' time. We absolutely have the technology and hardware nowadays to make a functioning open world Sims game. 4 continues to suffer because they're piling more and more things into a 9 year old game that didn't have a great base structure to begin with. 3 however was only given a 4 year lifespan on 2009's tech and while not perfect, is still widely regarded as being better than 4.
@@TheSimsLore Not only did it let your sims explore the world they were living in. Not only can you not peak into their lives, they don't feel like they have any life or story progression outside of your active household. And most of the time they seem to only appear whenever your sims call them up, or are visiting a lot, either appearing on a community lot randomly or if you select them to hang out when going out.
@@barbiquearea I felt so bored every time I played Sims 4 because of this! It felt like it used phone invites as a crutch to not have to have varying types of initiation for activities. It’s just “hey let’s go to [lot] and almost no other sims will show up,” over and over.
@@OldObscureUnpopularGames I know right. Plus its ridiculous how you can select anyone to hang out at a venue irrespective of your relationship level with them. It's like they have no autonomy and you can pull someone you met on the street to go where you will them....just because. At least in Sims 3 other sims don't just drop everything in their busy lives when you request their presence.
@@barbiquearea I was recently playing Bustin Out on GameCube and my sim was desperate for social interaction; but nobody liked her so everyone told her their spiritual advisor recommended they don’t leave the house…every single day 😭
Idc what any simmer says, I DEFINITELY want an open world in future sims games. Like you said, it made the game feel more lively imo. That's one of the things TS4 is missing for me.
I used to love the animation in the sims 3 like the soap bubbles for example or how the ducky floats in the bath if they have one. It’s so amazing. Very nostalgic game
I still play The Sims 3 even though I have most of The Sims 4 packs. As someone that's played every Sims game and every expansion ever released, it's obvious To me that The Sims 3 is superior to sims 4. But I also have a really nice gaming computer so it runs a lot smoother for me than it does a lot of people.
There are many features I like about The Sims 4, however to me it seems The Sims 3 is better executed! Also very good point ! Having a good gaming PC makes a huge difference in playing The Sims 3! Thanks so much for your views on it! 😁
Yup! I got the sims 2 in goodwill originally and I had the sims 3 base game thro middle school. I only got expansions when my parents would get them for me. By the time sims 4 game out I was a teenager and I paid the full 80$ for the limited edition and…….. now I’m 22 and I think played the sims 4 for a total of three months. Sims 2 and 3 I switch between 🫶
Is incredible that the only arguments that the community does have agains't the sims 3 is "its laggy, buggy and ugly" and nothing more. While the sims 4 we can have an entire discussion about the problems on this game
I actually don't have a gaming pc. But with the right NRAAS mods, it can still run pretty decently on a regular laptop. Also I place my laptop elevated in next to a fan in a way that keeps it from getting hot, as well. Another huge problem with 3.
I loved how traits had multiple ways it could effect your sim. For example, Eco Friendly Sims hated using their own car and Natural Cooks had a smaller chance of starting a fire.
Evil Sims automatically shoo cats off of furniture unlike other sims xD also Divas are ridiculously likely to automatically break off relationships if they have negative interactions
4 should’ve taken the same approach. It’s so annoying have only 3 traits. Sims have basically no character. Vegan would’ve been a good trait if it didn’t take up 1/3 slots
Open world literally made the other games almost unplayable. It’s AMAZING plus the colorwheel? Perfection. I’m a TS3 stan for life. Also it runs fine (even create a style/colorwheel is fine) for me. Also SP was a game changer. I still go back to TS1 and TS2, but TS3 is just… I love it so much. Also thanks for the shoutout from Twitch 🤪
I haven't played TS4 for nearly a year, I've been playing TS3. Despite the graphics and the occasional glitching, TS3 has better gameplay, in my opinion. I miss the freedom of the open world, the cars, bikes. Just even walking to another lot without a loading screen. Pushing your baby/toddler somewhere with a pushchair is always cute too. I didn't know you could drag designs in the design tool, so thank you for that.
I love the deeper storyline that's implied with regards to MorcoCorp that's in World Adventures because you have this evil organization that's stealing artifacts and buying up land but then you also have the dirty history of Admiral Landgrabb stealing the invention of wine basically and passing it off as his own. I like how they did darker themes but in a wacky and silly way to where it's dark but not unnecessarily. Sims 4 to me is to kiddy.
Bruh I was playing in Appaloosa Plains, and my sim started dating this man who is raising his two younger siblings because their parents died in a fire. Their parents’ bedroom was locked and two chairs at the dining room table were pushed out. The older brother would sleep downstairs in the basement. Super depressing
I never got to miss any feature from TS3 simply because I never moved to TS4. When you jump from one gen to the next you know that you’ll lose some features (pets, wheather…) until they come up with its expansion, but I just couldn’t cope without open world, cars, or the customisation. Those weren’t just a feature you could give up until later, but a whole different thing. It’s like giving up 3D and going back to the TS1 isometric camera in TS5. I’ve been playing TS3 since the beginning and I still haven’t gone through all it’s gameplay, so let’s just hope the next gen really is a next gen.
something i've just recently realized that i miss from the Sims 3 is being able to choose occult type AFTER making the Sim. more than once i made a storyline where two regular Sims had an occult child or vice versa. you could do the same in Sims 4, but you would need to rely on replicating the genetics of the parents instead of being able to just use the genetics tool and then change them.
My favorite feature that they remvoed in sims 3 was interesting traits. Like hers a comparison between one trait from each game. The Athletic trait from sims 3 and the Active trait from sims 4. The Active trait gives a mood boost when exersing, will randomly get moodlets wanting to exercise, the unci exercise on floor interaction and they live longer as elders. The Athletic trait does so sims learn Athletic skill faster and are less likely to tire out then other sims. Athletic sims dislike conversations complaing about exercise. Athletic sim npc go to gyms and pools more often. Athletic sims turn the tv to the sports channel. Sims 3 traits where more about creating person then giving a sim skill boost. In sims certain sims wont get along naturally because they have conflicting traits. And alot of sims 4 dlc traits are only usfull for that dlc. While sims 3 dlc traits cane be used. Like I dont think where ever going to get a trait like Unstable(which is my favorite) in sims 4.
Yeah ! TS3 has utilitarian traits, like athletic, artistic, handy, friendly, etc, but also tons of traits that just add personality, and negative traits ! like coward, unlucky, proper, never nude... just nice, whacky stuff
I deleted the sims 4 and downloaded the sims 3 a couple of days ago and the gameplay is ✨immaculate✨ there are so many little (and major) details that build up the atmosphere and storylines! and I only have 2 packs installed! I faced no bags probably due to lack of installed content but still there are sooo many things to do!! honestly I played for like 30 hours already and not once Ive got bored lol
I'm the biggest fan of the Sims 3 because this game surprises me till this day. After so many years I still learn something new. In this video I didn't know about two things you've mentioned 😁❤️
I use to love the small detail of having your sim call another and then zooming out and seeing The other sim on the phone all the way in a different location
The preexisting memory and story line from the Sims 2. Miss them so much because they added depth but allow you the freedom to tell your own stories. Though I like in the Sims 4 your teens can be expelled from high school, or can drop out. That's good depth too.
I rather love how in Sims 3 your sims can be assigned up to five traits (seven max if you have University Life). I never liked how Sims 4 only lets you give your grownup Sims only three traits in total. Having five and then seven traits with University Life just added more layers to your sims character, and allowed them to do more in the game than you could with Sims 4.
And the traits actually affect your characters' personalities and behavior, instead of them all having the same bland personality and just feeling slightly different emotions about things.
The Sims 3 will always be my favourite Sims game! And for those who want a smoother game, you should definitely try the smooth patch by Lazy Duchess. It made my game so much faster and I'm experiencing much less lag!
@@katlyndobransky2419 Oh no, that's such a shame! I'm one of the lucky ones who are still able to use Origin (and now I'm even more afraid I'll have to switch soon) so that might be it. It mainly helped in CAS for me, but it also made a difference in Build/Buy.
I feel sorry for every Simmer who had problems running Sims 3 because I've *never* had troubles playing this game. My PCs weren't that hardcore and the game was still very much playable
At first I thought maybe taking away the infinite color options might be a good idea bc I was always spending hours designing my stuff, partly bc yes it takes ages to load, but mainly to get the colors _juuuuust_ right But in ts4 I also spend hours and I end up not being statisfied bc the colors are ever so slightly not perfectly matched, or all my Sims have the same outfits and furniture I think look good together
I know there's a lot of TS3 haters, but for me is and still be the best sims game, I'm in love with personalization and open world, is like the world is your giant canvas and is beautiful, no other sim game has those levels of creativity
I'm currently doing a five babies five baby daddies challenge myself xD basically my female sim has the raise 5 children from baby to teen, but they each have to have a different dad. and I gave myself an extra challenge: only one dad can be a regular townie/npc. one has to be an occult, and she also has to have a baby with a sim from each world adventures destination world so far she's had one, with youssef nagi from al simhara. the quest continues xD
I’ve always regarded sims 3 as better than the sims 4. My computer doesn’t even run sims 4 anymore without crashing and despite sims 3 being regarded as less optimised I can still run it without crashing (it has happened a few times but not much at all) - I will happily take sims 3 running not as well for having an open world, create a style and all of the better features 💀
Something else that I just noticed that's missing from Sims 3. I only recently adopted a child in my game and noticed that you pick the name of the child if it's a toddler/child. In Sims 2, if it wasn't a baby, the kid already had a name which made it more believable that it was adopted
I loved the open world, because while my Sim was reading a book or at the gym levelling up, I loved looking around town and see what the other Sims were doing without my control
I miss the Sims 3! I got it about a year after Sims 4 was announced and got a few stuff and expansion packs. Played it all through high school and college up until a couple of years ago when I had to get rid of my old-as-dirt Windows 7 desktop computer. Loved it then, still love it now. Recently downloaded and started goofing with the Sims 4 (literally got it last night lol), and I must say that while the create-a-sim is definitely a step up from S3, the building and worlds for me are a step down. I'm a huge builder in S3, more so than I'd like to admit, and it's not as easy as it was in S3, and of course no create-a-style, open worlds, or drivable vehicles: all features that made S3 one of, if not THE best, game in the series. Oh, and lore, can't forget how absolutely full S3 is with lore and world building.
The Sims 3 is really amazing in creating storyline. I remember when I found out about Story Progression and get deeper around Casting, I can create a whole lots of interesting. Here are several things I've tried: - 2 grand families which are rivals. And they keep being rivals (these specific 2 family members thay cannot be friends, only enemies). Until 2 kids start playing together. And you know the next story, they have to runaway. - A world of Zombies: Include lots of Zombie using Vector mods. Buying in this town is forbidden and Sims can only steal from public lots with Kleptomaniac. It's kind of a whole new experience, and the more it goes, the more interesting things come, like where the Zombie come from from a witch, and why some people here are immune, ... - A neverland world: It's a place where kids don't grow up. They can choose to grow up to teen and adult, but they will have only 7 days until turning into elders. And there's a lots of story goes in this world too. I love how these kinds of modification are possible in The Sims 3. TS2 are okay, but I cannot create something like this, so I have to put it at the 2nd rank. TS4 is out of the list.
At first I thought the removal of the oppen world was a sad, but sound business decision. But now that I have seen the pure messy way that they made sims 3. And what you have to do to make it run smooth. I am sure you can make sims 3 today, but actually work. Like Sims 3 is an insane game and they put everything in it. One fun fact I still ask myself: That is insane and you need to stop. When you change the wood floor to metal floor in create a style. The sound that your sim makes when walking over it changes. Create a style isn't just a visual thing, it is an actual logic based system.
The sims 3 is always gonna be my childhood best friend forever, i grew up with the sims 3 and this game is also my comfort game, and i've many learn new things from this game, like a knowledge, and even boost my english language skill!, and every watching your contents, it's make me feel nostalgic and i'm miss playing the sims 3 so much because my pc is broken, i'm still waiting and saving money, one day i have my new pc, and playing the sims 3 again AAAAAAAGH I MISS THE SIMS 3 SO MUCH
I love the open world. In the sims 2 the way to get around it is. I build an apartment lot, but I also build like a library, gym and a club so my sims can walk over to make it seem like an open world.
Oh my goodness! When I watched this I felt like crying cuz my house went on fire and along went my sims three game with all the expansion packs so now I’m stuck with the sims 4! 😭
I'm totally okay with not having an open world. I just wish we could place lots of any size anywhere we wanted and had the ability to create your own neighborhood.
I wouldnt mind having loading screens if we actually had customizable worlds (like placing lots freely) and more lots in general. Also i miss small things like grocery stores, bookstores and such, they brought so much life to the game
When I first started to play sims 4, I came into it expecting to get a game just like the previous three. Only to be severely disappointed while trying the game over the years and all of its expansions through (very legal means), and even with all of the packs/stuff packs, it never made me stay longer than looking over everything new in it and then closing the game. Im happy that the community is so creative because the wonderful mods that they created was the only reason I even considered going back to the game from time to time. I still play sims 2 and 3 almost daily, even if my schedule is filled up. Even after all these years, I still cant get enough.
I absolutely love CAW, it was such a great feature! Since the EA App was introduced, it hasn't been working for many players :( I hope they repair this soon, I want to get back to pretending I know what I'm doing creating a world! hahah
I never really got deep into Sims 3 (I did really try, though) but I did like the open world and being able to take my sims anywhere in it at any time. I love the create a style tool! I know some people felt it was too many options and they felt overwhelmed but I liked the idea of say, several sims having the same shirt, but not quite and being able to put different textures on things. I liked the different things you could collect and found that fun. Not having an open world is not a deal breaker for me personally, but I do prefer being able to play every household in a neighborhood by myself without them going off and doing their own thing without me.
When it came to Create A Style, I found that if I dropped out of it and back in when doing a lot of changes, it wouldn't start to get laggy. All would be saved, the changes would be permanent and no longer hog RAM, and I could continue changing the style of all of the sim's home and wardrobe.
The Sims 3 was the first game I stepped into the game field, and have never regretted to spend my money for this game. But I do seriously for the sims 4. But I liked the guitar music was added in the jungle adventure though.
I miss open world. It’s upsetting that it was taken away. I miss cars too. I loved having my parent sims drive my children sims around. I love randomly checking public places and seeing sims there even tho my sims wasn’t in the lot. It added a sense of company to the game.
I only have base game and one pack for Sims 4, and it still lags and freezes for me on my mid-range gaming-ish laptop, so I don't think getting rid of open world worked all that well for correcting those issues. I mostly still play Sims 3 and occasionally Sims 2, so when I do play Sims 4 what I miss the most is definitely the open world, the reasons to leave my house, the ability to make my furniture look the way I wanted, and also doorbells (I never know when someone has come to visit in Sims 4 - why on earth did they get rid of something as simple as doorbells?). And my snack was a chocolate chip cookie! Thank you for the fun video!
People also forget that when the Sims 3 introduced open world, it was 2009. Nearly 15 years ago. Technology has come a very long way since then. There are games with much larger open worlds that have released since then that run perfectly fine. The Sims 3’s open world was also poorly optimized. With a couple of COMMUNITY made mods, I can get it to run smoothly with barely any hiccups. (The community continuing to serve what EA can’t.) I’m tired of The Sims 3’s poor optimization and ambitiousness for it’s time being a reason why now into the 2020s - where the technology absolutely exists to optimize - we can’t have open world again. It’s absurd. I really feel like EA’s gaslit the community into buying that it can’t be done despite other games achieving the same thing. Again, I can get the Sims 3 to run smooth with just a few fan made mods. I’m also glad that the Sims has a wide range of players and perhaps this is classist but I’m also tired of lower-end PC users being the reason that they limit content. Because frankly, *what*? What other big studio when creating a game takes into mind people trying to run it on 15 year old laptops? I really feel like they scapegoat them.
I was playing TS4 since its release, and only got back to TS3 for a month now. I gotta say TS3 has amazing gameplay. Now with all the awesome mods like smooth patch and 4k UI. The feeling you got when your sims drive around town, the regular life in a small town where you know so well, the refreshing feeling when you actually travel to another world just for a few days. And those were just the smallest simple things... I'm currently still playing exclusively in Twinsbrook, my favourite town from my favourite EP. Such nostalgic to relive all this, how much fun I had when I was a kid playing this town. It's not a perfect rainbow sunshine kinda town. It's foggy, mysterious, kinda musty dirty in some part, that makes it even more realistic and beautiful. I've even started to learn bout the stories of the people in town, the lore may I say, which I've never done before, I guess I've grown lol *All thanks to this amazing channel* 🌿 Anyway, I'll stay in Twinsbrook until TS4 finished. Can not endure another mods updating madness every time they release something lol
With mods I was able to make the Sims 3 run very smoothly, if in the new game they put in code to manage all the lots and make sure tvs and radios are turned of periodically as well as a frame rate limiter then I think an open world can definitely work. I just don't want to be pushed to making choices for my sims. I want them to have unique wants and a unique personality that isn't just an emotional buff, I want their relationships to grow and have it so two sims won't feel the exact same about each other. Like I want a sim who hates another sim but that sim is obsessed with them.
In the sims 3, I had a sims start out homeless and try to build their life up. She slept at the fire station and painted for money (which looking back is cheating! I hat made it too easy!). But I don’t wanted to make them a chronic gambler and BLOW all of their money…and won the first time…so I bought a resort and lived there (I owned it so EVERYTHING was free!) and just STACKED money and bought a bunch of properties. I was getting like 200k a week😂
I’m seeing a lot of comments about Sims 3 running poorly and wanted to mention that I’ve had such a smoother experience with the Sims 3 smoothing mod! Hopefully this helps some simmers ❤
I think they tried to make up for open-world with the ability to travel across the worlds whenever we can without major loading screen (we know how long did the TS3 loading took) and I've seen people justifying TS4 like "imagine waiting 15 mins to get from Willow Creek to Oasis Spring and having to move my sim there! I could never!" but you know what? With all the other perks and THE GAMEPLAY of TS3 I would rather wait an hour than play TS4. Like 2 worlds of TS3 got much more stuff than half of TS4 worlds and that's just crazy. Same with the DLCs. And with TS4 being in the buggy state it is those days I really have no reason to play it. Even life-saving mods are not enough to make me play. TS3 is my love and I cling to hope, that they'll step up their game with upcoming TS5. Great video, hope there will be more about TS3
The open-world was never the reason why Sims 3 ran poorly. Several open world games existed at the time and could run on most operating systems (Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, Saints Row 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Dragon Age Origins). The real reason is because it was poorly optimized and broken. They took advantage of their casual playerbase to convince them otherwise.
Even though I have every pack from TS4, I mainly play TS3. I know TS3 is laggy sometimes but TS4 does this lag spike thing every time I go into build mode and I have to hit esc to get rid of it. And with all the appropriate Nraas mods and smooth patch, the game runs amazing, at least for TS3. I can get lost in the open world for hours, watching my Sim drive to work is an experience.
@7:25 There are plenty of name puns in The Sims 4! The ones I can think of off the top of my head... Joaquin Le Chien Felix Psyded Candy Behr Some of them you HAVE to say out loud before you realize it is a pun name lol. There are protests in The Sims 4 too. It came with City Living and the political career. You can stumble upon a protest at any time in the city and join it. Or you can start one yourself :) Honestly I miss the open world and create a style from Sims 3 the most :/
I still barely have more than 30 hours in the Sims 4. I have over 2000 hours in the Sims 3. I still remember the playing it for the first time after having only played the sims 2 before, and being in utter awe when I realised it was an open world. No load screens. I used my sims go to bookstore or something self-interact option and wholly expected them to ring a cab and trigger a loading screen once they drove off But instead the camera just kept following them, and I was like "wow this draw distance is kinda long" I reached the lot and was pleasantly surprised it didn't have to wait and just assumed that the roads and pavements were simply unplayable sections in between lots that let them load in Freeing my camera view and being able to move all around the town though and even command my sim to walk to completely different buildings is what blew my mind. I also desperately miss create-a-style and I don't understand why it wasn't implemented at all; it's such an egregious step-back in customisation and features
I've got all the sims 3 expansions and store stuff all on my original old laptop from 2013 and I've never had any problems. A tiny bit of lag if playing island paradise but nothing to interfere. It's the best in my opinion. All I can think of as to why it runs so well is mabey because I don't have any mods installed? (I never trusted putting mods in), but that's all I can think of.
i’ve went from the sims 4 to the sims 3 and i am BAFFLED by how MUCH is in the sims 3. it is actually baffling how lackluster the fourth installment was in comparison. like seriously. i worry for the sims 5. lilsimsie says she fears a new subscription module coming for ts5. free to play, but huge paywalls. like how they’ve done now with the sims 4. the sims 3 has so many little details and love put into it, and trying to play the sims 4 after experiencing it feels very underwhelming.
This is why I still play the sims 3. sure, I would love if the foundation tool existed in the sims 3, but, I just like the execution of the sims 3 overall. And there are mods that help keep the sims 3 functioning with ease, such as Nrass
I don't actually mind not having an open world, but I will say that it's really nice to switch back and forth between Sims in the Sims 3. The way TS4 does packs like get to work and now high school years doesn't really work for me. I don't like that I have to choose what I'm going to do. Like I have to choose if I'm going to stay home with the Sims there or go with my teens to school. Now that I'm thinking about it, it's the same thing if you want to go to a restaurant or club or any other place. You have to choose if you stay home or go with the Sims leaving. Nevermind I take it back lol I do miss the open world of TS3.
about the open world thing: i do like it a lot and it's very convenient, however when i play sims 3 and switch from one sim to another, possibly on the other side of the map my game sometimes just freezes and then closes. which isn't great when you haven't saved in 20 minutes.
The Sims 3 was the final stage of the first Sims generation. People who played Sims 1 and grew up with the franchise were pretty much grown into adulthood when Sims 3 came around. So unless you were a hardcore Simmer, you would eventually stop playing some time after all the packages were released. Because of you know, a family, a job and whatnot. So Sims 4 was The Sims 1 for the next generation of teenagers. It was starting from scrath and building a new audience. Also, they could never top The Sims 3. It's basically a Herculain task. That's my take. Having said that: I grew up with The Sims 1, didn't really play Sims 2 and was immersed in The Sims 3. It's still my favorite of the two. Just because of the sheer fun and world-building.
Actually such a good take on it! I feel like they didn’t foresee so many OG players deciding to continue playing the game after so long so they focused on the new generation with Ts4, which I mean, paid off, there aren’t that many OG players who moved onto the sims 4! But the ones who did are not too happy I feel haha 😆

I loved buying a ducky or shampoo/a candle and getting an extra moodlet.
This! I also loved the animation of laundry filling the basket when you changed clothes in the room.
Ur back I like ur channel
Natural Cooks can also kick the dishes up a notch which is pretty splendid.
The rich lore from the sims 3 was so good, and made the game feel so alive, the sims 4 it's so static!!
It has significantly better gameplay
TS3 has better textures than TS4 tho.
YEEEEEEES
Same! I played the free demo of sims 4, had a nice little laugh about it, and loaded up ol' faithful :)
something i've just recently realized that i miss from the Sims 3 is being able to choose occult type AFTER making the Sim. more than once i made a storyline where two regular Sims had an occult child or vice versa. you could do the same in Sims 4, but you would need to rely on replicating the genetics of the parents instead of being able to just use the genetics tool and then change them.
Sims 3 is the game I still play to this day. Didn't think 4 was enough of an upgrade to stop playing the game I love :)
I deleted the sims 4 and downloaded the sims 3 a couple of days ago and the gameplay is ✨immaculate✨
there are so many little (and major) details that build up the atmosphere and storylines! and I only have 2 packs installed!
I use to love the small detail of having your sim call another and then zooming out and seeing
The other sim on the phone all the way in a different location
I recently just downloaded it and it hasn’t helped my game much… might’ve been because I downloaded the EA app which replaced origin
@@katlyndobransky2419 Oh no, that's such a shame! I'm one of the lucky ones who are still able to use Origin (and now I'm even more afraid I'll have to switch soon) so that might be it. It mainly helped in CAS for me, but it also made a difference in Build/Buy.
I bought Sims 3 on Steam AND discs.
I stayed away from EA.
I feel sorry for every Simmer who had problems running Sims 3 because I've *never* had troubles playing this game. My PCs weren't that hardcore and the game was still very much playable
At first I thought maybe taking away the infinite color options might be a good idea bc I was always spending hours designing my stuff, partly bc yes it takes ages to load, but mainly to get the colors _juuuuust_ right
But in ts4 I also spend hours and I end up not being statisfied bc the colors are ever so slightly not perfectly matched, or all my Sims have the same outfits and furniture I think look good together
I know there's a lot of TS3 haters, but for me is and still be the best sims game, I'm in love with personalization and open world, is like the world is your giant canvas and is beautiful, no other sim game has those levels of creativity
I'm currently doing a five babies five baby daddies challenge myself xD basically my female sim has the raise 5 children from baby to teen, but they each have to have a different dad. and I gave myself an extra challenge: only one dad can be a regular townie/npc. one has to be an occult, and she also has to have a baby with a sim from each world adventures destination world
so far she's had one, with youssef nagi from al simhara. the quest continues xD
Oh my gosh I’m tired just from reading that bless her 5 KIDS???? In this economy??? 😮💨😮💨😮💨🥵🥵🥵
@@TheSimsLore thankfully the sims universe has motherlode xD
I’ve always regarded sims 3 as better than the sims 4. My computer doesn’t even run sims 4 anymore without crashing and despite sims 3 being regarded as less optimised I can still run it without crashing (it has happened a few times but not much at all) - I will happily take sims 3 running not as well for having an open world, create a style and all of the better features 💀
I dont mind not haveing a color wheel in sims 4 as I rarely used it in sims 3, I just wish the colors matched in sims 4.
Sims 3 is a big thing of part of my childhood
Something else that I just noticed that's missing from Sims 3. I only recently adopted a child in my game and noticed that you pick the name of the child if it's a toddler/child. In Sims 2, if it wasn't a baby, the kid already had a name which made it more believable that it was adopted
I loved the open world, because while my Sim was reading a book or at the gym levelling up, I loved looking around town and see what the other Sims were doing without my control
Me too.
Here are several things I've tried:
- 2 grand families which are rivals.
There are tutorials and fan-made patches available nowadays to make TS3 run smoother, it's not miracle work but it works pretty well !
The sims 3 is always gonna be my childhood best friend forever, i grew up with the sims 3 and this game is also my comfort game, and i've many learn new things from this game, like a knowledge, and even boost my english language skill!, and every watching your contents, it's make me feel nostalgic and i'm miss playing the sims 3 so much because my pc is broken, i'm still waiting and saving money, one day i have my new pc, and playing the sims 3 again AAAAAAAGH I MISS THE SIMS 3 SO MUCH
i took a long break from the sims. i’m finally returning and had to come back to your channel because it’s one of the best. i love your videos!
One of my favorite pun names is the newspaper girl Dee Liver. Forgot from which town she was, but it’s just hilarious
I love the open world. In the sims 2 the way to get around it is. I build an apartment lot, but I also build like a library, gym and a club so my sims can walk over to make it seem like an open world.
open world and full customization just instantly make sims 3 the best sims game. i could play it over and over even with how laggy it is
Oh my goodness! When I watched this I felt like crying cuz my house went on fire and along went my sims three game with all the expansion packs so now I’m stuck with the sims 4! 😭
SO happy your back best Sims youtuber REAL!! Snack report: Bread simple and yummy.
Wow, thank you! 🥹🥰♥️ that sounds so yummy!!! 😮💨🎉
I'm totally okay with not having an open world. I just wish we could place lots of any size anywhere we wanted and had the ability to create your own neighborhood.
I liked teaching kid & teen sims to drive / ride a bike. Also the strollers.
Since the EA App was introduced, it hasn't been working for many players :( I hope they repair this soon, I want to get back to pretending I know what I'm doing creating a world! hahah
Oh how I’ve missed you!! So happy to have another video! 💞🥹 hopefully I can make it to one of your streams soon!
I love these so much. I never moved to sims 4 and I think sims 3 might be my absolute favorite!
When it came to Create A Style, I found that if I dropped out of it and back in when doing a lot of changes, it wouldn't start to get laggy. All would be saved, the changes would be permanent and no longer hog RAM, and I could continue changing the style of all of the sim's home and wardrobe.
''Get ready for that Nostalgia Throwback'' The way I left the Sims 4 era behind and have decidedly played Sims 3 ever since.😭😭😂😂
The Sims 3 was the first game I stepped into the game field, and have never regretted to spend my money for this game.
(The community continuing to serve what EA can’t.)
I’m tired of The Sims 3’s poor optimization and ambitiousness for it’s time being a reason why now into the 2020s - where the technology absolutely exists to optimize - we can’t have open world again.
I've even started to learn bout the stories of the people in town, the lore may I say, which I've never done before, I guess I've grown lol *All thanks to this amazing channel* 🌿
Anyway, I'll stay in Twinsbrook until TS4 finished. Can not endure another mods updating madness every time they release something lol
Speaking of silly names, there's this one time I visit a neighbor's house and they have an orange cat and its name is "EvilGenius Cat"
Ugh I'm so happy that your back!!
Thank you so much 🥹🥰♥️
TEXTURES
Imagine a game where not everything looks like plastic, crazy right
FINALLY! THE QUEEN IS BACK!
i missed you so much! :3
Sims 3 will be hands down my all time favorite ❤
They took advantage of their casual playerbase to convince them otherwise.
girl i really miss you so much! the way you narrated the videos is so valuble. 😍
Thank you so much!!🥰♥️🥹
Yay! A Ms. Lore video, what a great birthday present! I hope you are doing well! 🖤
Happy birthday!✨🎉
Thank you! You too! And happy birthday 🥳🎉🥰🥹♥️
I still play sims 3 to this day. The game is honestly amazing if you can get it to run! The ts3 feels so realistic and genuine compared to ts4
5:03 „want crazy purple hair?“
Me who just dyed their hair bright purple last week: 👁👄👁
I want open worlds and cars back. I’m desperately hoping the sims 5 will give it back and create a style
Oh my god you are finally back! I'm so happy, really made my day :D
Yay, thank you!🥰♥️
Even though I have every pack from TS4, I mainly play TS3.
Joaquin Le Chien
Felix Psyded
Candy Behr
Some of them you HAVE to say out loud before you realize it is a pun name lol. There are protests in The Sims 4 too. It came with City Living and the political career. You can stumble upon a protest at any time in the city and join it. Or you can start one yourself :) Honestly I miss the open world and create a style from Sims 3 the most :/
This is why I've continued to play sims 3 after all this time. I can't imagine not having create-a-style
a new sims 3 video thank god
sims 4 is a soulless corporate money grab, while sims 3 seems like it was made by people who actually care about the game.
Oh finally a new video!🩷✨
I miss you so much Ms Lore🥺🥺
I still barely have more than 30 hours in the Sims 4.
I have over 2000 hours in the Sims 3.
I still remember the playing it for the first time after having only played the sims 2 before, and being in utter awe when I realised it was an open world. No load screens. I used my sims go to bookstore or something self-interact option and wholly expected them to ring a cab and trigger a loading screen once they drove off
But instead the camera just kept following them, and I was like "wow this draw distance is kinda long"
I reached the lot and was pleasantly surprised it didn't have to wait and just assumed that the roads and pavements were simply unplayable sections in between lots that let them load in
Freeing my camera view and being able to move all around the town though and even command my sim to walk to completely different buildings is what blew my mind.
I also desperately miss create-a-style and I don't understand why it wasn't implemented at all; it's such an egregious step-back in customisation and features
i have almost all of ts4 packs and I still don't find myself traveling a lot because the loading screens take forever
I literally refused to play the Sims 4 when I learned that there was no open world lol so here I am playing the sims 3 in 2023
Please do more! I love sims 3 and I love any videos you come out with
Create a style needs to come back. Let me make my entire house and eyesore goddamnit! If I want a neon yellow fridge let me do it!
Kind of a late reply, but it seems to be coming back to Project Rene (Sims 5) so there’s at least some optimism for the sims lol.
I watch while tired ! Made me more tired ! Not from boredom but from relax !
Oh the switching focus animation in Sims 3 is the same as in Spore’s tribal stage
I remember I did make my sim play guitar and it was a protest. It was pretty good for getting some extra money if you play with no cheat codes
i’ve went from the sims 4 to the sims 3 and i am BAFFLED by how MUCH is in the sims 3. it is actually baffling how lackluster the fourth installment was in comparison. like seriously. i worry for the sims 5. lilsimsie says she fears a new subscription module coming for ts5. free to play, but huge paywalls. like how they’ve done now with the sims 4. the sims 3 has so many little details and love put into it, and trying to play the sims 4 after experiencing it feels very underwhelming.
i missed ur videos :( in those stressful times they make me happy :)
Woah the return we’ve been awaiting 🤩
I’m heeereeee Jiggly 🥰♥️🥹
This is why I still play the sims 3. sure, I would love if the foundation tool existed in the sims 3, but, I just like the execution of the sims 3 overall.
And there are mods that help keep the sims 3 functioning with ease, such as Nrass
You’re back!!! ❤ *depression dissolves*
0:45 -- first and ONLY**
I don't actually mind not having an open world, but I will say that it's really nice to switch back and forth between Sims in the Sims 3.
FINALLY MISS LORE IS BACK BACK BACK AGAIN!
about the open world thing: i do like it a lot and it's very convenient, however when i play sims 3 and switch from one sim to another, possibly on the other side of the map my game sometimes just freezes and then closes. which isn't great when you haven't saved in 20 minutes.
Snack report: two babybels, two Dairylea cheese triangles and two slices of ham and toast
i absolutely miss open world, i can't even play ts4 anymore because it feels so hollow and empty
I once encounted a sim named Edmond Redmond while playing The Sims 3 for PS3. Iconic.
