Supernatural has always been my favourite pack throughout the entire Sims franchise. I can't play the sims 3 anymore due to my computer practically falling apart, but I can't wait until I can enjoy it again. Thank you for this video, it brought back so many lovely memories!
At first I though the attic bedroom in The Van Gould mansion may have been meant for a butler, but then again it's just too creepy for it not to be intentional. I looks like a prison cell or a dungeon cell. One think I'm sure though, the name Moonlight Falls was definetely a reference to The Vampire Diaries' Mystic Falls
There are some obvious references to Twilight, but this pack came out when I was a teenager obsessed with The Vampire Diaries... And let me tell you, most of the stories are from that show! Starting from the town's name Moonlight Falls (Mystic Falls in TVD), and the town hall with the clocktower is identical to the one on the show! Anyway, awesome video as always :) I remember playing in the Van Gould mansion with a family that I made and I used the attic bedroom as the live-in-housekeepers room! She was a witch and the family living there were vampires :D
Considering the year this expansion came out, its not too surprising it was a huge reference to Twilight. (I never liked Twilight but I remember seeing the trailer for this expansion and you can just...tell)
not sure if this has been said, but the train set & door in the attic, plus the description suggesting you may not be able to leave, could be references to Beetlejuice?
If the Van Goulds have lived in the town for centuries, the creepy attic room could just be an old servant bedroom. Live-in servants having a room directly under the roof was pretty common in old mansions, and it would fit the Van Gould's old money backstory. But Ayden having hypnothized prisoners in the attic is a super creepy theory. And the room being an old servant quarter wouldn't even torpedoe it.
22:03 the pickup truck might be a reference to twilight! It’s nearly identical to the one Bella is gifted in the movie and she got it from Jacob’s dad who granted while not a grandfather like Pappy, is similar enough.
Currently doing a play through of supernatural and it honestly might be one of my favorite sims 3 packs! The world is so stunning and nostalgic with all the twilight references and all the occults in one single town just makes for so much fun and chaotic gameplay! It’s even more chaotic when you put one of each occult in one household and just see what happens which is what I’m doing!
Despite the twilight references in the sims living there, Moonlight Falls looks more like Mystic Falls from the Vampire Diaries TV show, which it also has a similar name too, I kinda wish we had more variety in the character references, sure we've got Bewitched, a small Charmed and a slight True Blood reference (one in a game mechanic not just characters) but it would have been nice if those references were a bit deeper and we had more, like a Sabrina (original since Chilling Adventures wasn't a thing at the time) and a Vampire Dairies or maybe some references to less well known media and books like Vampire Academy or House of Night. Still my favourite town to play in, Moonlight Falls is utterly beautiful and even if you strip everything away to build it up from scratch, it still maintains that mystical feeling.
Not sure who these families are exactly based on, but the name of the town and the layout is 100% a reference to Mystic Falls from tv show "the vampire diaries". Even the bridge in Moonlight Falls looks eerie similar to the one Elena Gilbert drove off and almost died. It also had conflict between vampires and werewolves, but it's a pretty common theme in pop culture. So excited to see all the videos about this town! 🤗 It is filled with references to all kinds of supernatural shows.
moonlight falls is my all time favorite sims world (i won’t lie, partially because of twilight lol!), i’m so happy to see you shifting over to it! can’t wait to hear more about its lore :)
These sims 3 lore is sooo nostalgic. I have every single store world (they all came with soooooo much lore) and all the expansions. I've been on a Sims 4 kick because....the nodding community is so great. But I really miss the pre built lore in Sims 3. I kinda wanna boot it up soon and play around lucky palms with all those hidden pregnancies and cheating situations 😂 I've been having to make my OWN lore in Sims 4. ❤
Moonlight Falls. My most favourite Sims 3 wold and one of my two most favourite premade worlds/neighbourhoods in the whole series (the other being Strangetown in Sims 2). Interestingly, before Supernatural, I never liked the supernatural lifestates in Sims series, I tried to avoid them, actually. I don't know what, but something in this EP made me love them. Nowadays, most of my gameplays in Sims 3 involves supernaturals and most of them are in Moonlight Falls. So, I am looking forward to see more about this world.
Moonlight Falls is one of my fav towns, in addition to Bridgeport. There’s also a custom world called Fortress Rock that I recommend Simmers look up and download. It requires many stuff packs and expansions, but doesn’t have cc.
I want you to know that I clicked "like" on the video right after the "fangtastic" pun. I usually give a "like" when there's less than a minute left, but this was too good to wait until the end. Also, Waylon has a special place in my heart, because his clone, Cloylon, became the father of my heir in my Lepacy Challenge. Ever since his genes got involved in my family, we ended up with four generations of fantastic jawlines.
I spent my entire life here in the PNW. Honestly, do believe this is like a twilight inspired dream- however I used to live on the Columbia River Gorge- Moonlight Falls reminds me of Cascade Locks/Hood River/The Dalles on the river. If you look those places up in your maps- IDENTICAL YALL.
I love the Moonlight Falls lore! It's one of my favorites towns that I play very often. One of my legacies is a witch who was married to Mike Nix but was deeply attracted to Waylon Wolff (after his age up). They are engaged and have 2 children together, and Waylon is an awesome dad. He's super attentive and always wants to practice the painting skill. I think Emelie Van Gould skipped town in my game 😂
i love your videos so much! my sister and i recently got the sims 3 and we made ourselves as supernatural sims so we moved into moonlight falls! (i’m a witch, she’s a fairy)
LOVE THIS!!! Did you know there is a tv show called Moonlight about an vampire detective lol but the show midnight Texas reminds me of this town! thank you sooo much for doing this!!
Due to slower aging and the presence of the Summerdream family, I have a theory that Moonlight Falls is set before Sunset Valley and even before Twinbrook. Titania and Oberon have weird ages (one is older than the other in Sims 2, but in MF they swapped who's older), but despite that both are younger than their Sims 2 versions and don't have kids yet. Sims 3 fairies have a lifespan 5x longer than a regular sim. It only makes sense to have Moonlight Falls being set like 50 or even 100 years in the past in relation to Sims 2... that would explain why the connection between SV Wolffs and MF Wolffs is pretty "loose" in the lore, there's probably a lot of people in the family tree between Waylon and Thornton. I just don't understand how the Goths ended up there... Frida died too old, i think she wouldn't even been born. Idk haha its all wonky.
I don't get it. It's been almost a week and this video didn't even reach 20k views. Why? Your content is SO interesting! I never thought that Sims (though I play it for 19 years) had this much lore! I wish your channel to be more popular in sims community! ♥ ♥ ♥
I think you should talk about the Swain family next because its very obvious Bailey Swain is designated as a love interest for Tristan. The Swain family could not be a clearer reference to the Swan family.
Thanks that you saw my suggestion and honestly I love your perspective about this topic as an intro to Moonlight Falls. I've written a fictional story about this in my story and you just gave me enough clarity to revise it. Waiting for your next video about this Amazing town. Vadish! xoxo
I think the Wolff’s are my most played with family. I’ve had a couple long term, legacy style save files with them but the old ones have either been lost or corrupted. Currently, I’m about year or so into the game. (I’d check but I gave up video games for lent) The kids have all aged up making Waylon a young adult and Willie and Gator teens. It’s actually odd for me to see Willie as a child since I forgot that’s how she comes packaged with the EP. Dwayne’s also an elder now and Pappy has sadly passed away. I think EA was trying to set up a Romeo and Juliet storyline with Waylon and Emilie but in my previous save files, the Wolff’s find out that the two are dating and Waylon is disowned. He then goes off to live with Emilie in their own lot. However in this save file I decided that Dwayne and Erica are better people than to disown their oldest son. Still…I might break the two of them up depending what Bailey Swain is doing.
Nice vid!! that was the first town i ever played in the pc version of TS3 when i was 14 i starded playing this game pirately with 21 packs for like.. 3 months i believe..? Considering the year this expansion came out, its not too surprising it was a huge reference to Twilight.
(I never liked Twilight but I remember seeing the trailer for this expansion and you can just...tell)
well this expansion had the sparkly effect on the vampires so they wont die from the sun (it's a huge giveaway)
Wolffs: okay let's give our first two children fancy names. The baby? Ah let's call him Gator
I like to play with every household in the SIms 3 in different saves so I can see their POVS. I especially do this with Moonlight falls.
not sure if this has been said, but the train set & door in the attic, plus the description suggesting you may not be able to leave, could be references to Beetlejuice?
If the Van Goulds have lived in the town for centuries, the creepy attic room could just be an old servant bedroom. Live-in servants having a room directly under the roof was pretty common in old mansions, and it would fit the Van Gould's old money backstory.
But Ayden having hypnothized prisoners in the attic is a super creepy theory. And the room being an old servant quarter wouldn't even torpedoe it.
I always played the Rodgers and Hoppcraft families. They have a really cool story.
I always play a family, I forgot their name but they are based on the Weasleys from Harry Potter
@@Sirens_kai The MacDuff family. Total lip service to the Weasleys, LOL
Okay who did the play testing of the mansion? I wanna speak to their manager. 😂😂 Sooo much roof clipping it hurts my eyes....
It’s even more chaotic when you put one of each occult in one household and just see what happens which is what I’m doing!
whenever i play moonlight falls with story progression, i like how emelie always ends up marrying waylon
Pappy: *is a technophobe*
Also Pappy: *loves electronic music*
Make it make sense Sims 3
I've got issues- I immediately went "Oh like twilight" as soon as u mentioned the families had a rivalry-
Not sure who these families are exactly based on, but the name of the town and the layout is 100% a reference to Mystic Falls from tv show "the vampire diaries".
She drove off the bridge?
In Moonlight Falls there is a car next to the bridge in the water...
Ah my favorite town and my favorite rivalry in all of the sims
La Shove Beach: La Push in Forks, Washington 🤣
moonlight falls is my all time favorite sims world (i won’t lie, partially because of twilight lol!), i’m so happy to see you shifting over to it! can’t wait to hear more about its lore :)
I ADORE moonlight falls! So excited for more! Amazing video!
Oddly enough, when I've played Sunset Valley in the past, Thornton has, on multiple occasions, ended up being a werewolf. 🤔
I’m so excited.
As much as I like vampires I think the Wolff house looks better, but I’m sucker for 1970s home aesthetics.
Damn, a family feud between vampires and werewolfs? Sounds kinda.. ruff
Moonlight Falls is one of my fav towns, in addition to Bridgeport.
There’s also a custom world called Fortress Rock that I recommend Simmers look up and download. It requires many stuff packs and expansions, but doesn’t have cc.
I clicked so fast! I play this world quite a bit. Im pretty hyped forbthe lore!
my vampires wiped the floor with those dogs
Moonlight falls has been my fav world since it came out...i love the premades from here
Their story is also derivative of the Sunset Valley struggle between the Goths and the Landgraabs over who founded the town.
Altos and Landgraabs
Plot twist the goodfellows found the town as they could of been living there before moonlight falls was a town
This is everything I needed for the evening of this less than good day!
I'm still waiting for the lore behind the Swains... they were my favourite family to play in Moonlight Falls!
absolutely my favorite town AND families to play!
In Oregon**
I love the Moonlight Falls lore! It's one of my favorites towns that I play very often. One of my legacies is a witch who was married to Mike Nix but was deeply attracted to Waylon Wolff (after his age up). They are engaged and have 2 children together, and Waylon is an awesome dad. He's super attentive and always wants to practice the painting skill. I think Emelie Van Gould skipped town in my game 😂
omg, i was literally gonna ask if you could make a video on this feud, i love playing in moonlight falls and i love its lore, thank you queen !
i love your videos so much! my sister and i recently got the sims 3 and we made ourselves as supernatural sims so we moved into moonlight falls! (i’m a witch, she’s a fairy)
LOVE THIS!!! Did you know there is a tv show called Moonlight about an vampire detective lol but the show midnight Texas reminds me of this town! thank you sooo much for doing this!!
Moonlight Falls remains my favourite town
Oh I love this Town~ Erica Wolff is a badass granny in my save file now 😅Aww I've spent so much time with these sims
ah, I have nraas story progression installed, and the Van Gould-Wolff family is quite big in my save file :)
I agree
I’ve played in the Van Gould’s house and I knew about the basement but had no idea there was a 3rd floor ?!? My mind is blown rn 🤯
I don't get it. It's been almost a week and this video didn't even reach 20k views. Why? Your content is SO interesting! I never thought that Sims (though I play it for 19 years) had this much lore! I wish your channel to be more popular in sims community! ♥ ♥ ♥
Hahah I know, the algorithm hates me 😌😬💕
damn im early, i was about to go to sleep bcuz i hv exam later but i m gonna watch this first. wish me luck!
Good luck on your exam!!! 💖💖 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 Take this good luck!!
the room in the attic is (imo) most likely for a human familiar! basically a human slave that may or may not be promised to be a vampire.
This channel is a gem 💎 I love the Sims 3 lore stories, they're very underrated. Glad to see people still covering them!
Yooo, this is incredible!!! I need to play Van Goulds now, the house is so amazing! Thank you for this Moonlight Falls content
I played them. I had Tristan marry my CAS vampire sim and they had two kids, both close to their grandpa and auntie Emelie. :3
I think you should talk about the Swain family next because its very obvious Bailey Swain is designated as a love interest for Tristan. The Swain family could not be a clearer reference to the Swan family.
I thought Moonlight Falls is a reference to Mystic Fall from the Vampire diaries
Thanks that you saw my suggestion and honestly I love your perspective about this topic as an intro to Moonlight Falls. I've written a fictional story about this in my story and you just gave me enough clarity to revise it. Waiting for your next video about this Amazing town. Vadish! xoxo
I've waited for moonlight falls lore!
IT'S FINALLY HERE! ❤🧛♂️🐺❤
My favorite world of all time!!!! Thank you so much!
You have no idea how long I was waiting for this episode XD I loved playing with these two families. Also Genies came with Showtime not Supernatural.
Aaah, Moonlight Falls! I'm so happy, can't wait to watch this video at the end of work today.
"Misty valleys of the pacific northwest". Love seeing the area I call home referenced on this channel. Washington state 🌲❤
Nice vid!!
that was the first town i ever played in the pc version of TS3
when i was 14 i starded playing this game pirately with 21 packs for like.. 3 months i believe..?
(i literally got a lot of content in my first day at the sims 3 in PC and i won't forget how freaked the f**k out)
i do remember that i moved a small family inspired by a Disney tv cartoon show called "Gravity Falls" in that town
y'know because that town was full of mysterious shites and it's almost like Moonlight Falls!
it's good to see this town again:)
Moonlight falls is so much fun to play in idc what anyone says its underrated
I usually have a gold digger sim marry the Van Gould dad then kill the family. They then move off the lot, which will net them somewhere around 500,000 simoleons, then I go into 'Edit Town', and delete the Van Gould lot. lol
i love how epic the lore is and then in the actual game ayden randomly burns to death in front of the grocery store in week 2😭
I believe the attic room was indeed bonehilda's bedroom, maybe she owned it before she died?
omg i want more moonlight falls lore
love these videos so much 💜 i moved the moonlight falls wolffs into sunset valley and its been very cute !!
Ugh we need the Sims 3 back
Istg last night I was playing this town and thinking “this would be a great vid for the sims lore”
