    Wow couldn't ya fine some 1 X 12s that going to be heavy ~ i even glued 1 x 4s togather That works to. I like to make the holes next to the bottom where they can drag things out. Looks like you got the correct bee space : top to bottom and side of the frames! That very important ~ A Nice Strong Build

      Hahhaha it's built Ford tough. I did a 2" for better insulation. It does have weight to it. I'm not moving it once in place 😁 Thanks bud. We will see how it goes come spring.

    Following along. This would make it so much easier to inspect them. I think I may build one of these and also try a Poly hive.

      It seems so. We will see how it goes. I will run 5 of them with Italian and Cornies. You should build one if you can. I'm interested in that Poly hive to. Keep us updated on that

    I enjoyed watching your build. The detail to the top is a very nice touch to ensure a good waterproof fit. Now that you have been using this top for almost a year, how is it holding up to the weather. Has it been a problem with swelling and shrinkage? I want to use the idea on the hive I am building so let me ask you strait out, would you do it again, did it work over the long run?

    • @NKYHoneyBees
      @NKYHoneyBees  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joseph. Thanks for watching. The only thing I would change and will is the top cover. I will use metal to cover the roof. That plastic wrapped and water got to playwood. It didn't get in the hive but did under the top plastic cover. Other then that I love these hives.

    • @NKYHoneyBees
      @NKYHoneyBees  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe sun got to the plastic or I simply didn't have enough overhang to make sure water doesn't get in
