I am in Scotland, where we have had the biggest slug population explosion due to a very wet Spring. My one foot tall sunflowers have all been eaten, as have half of my dahlias. The ducks are doing their best but its alot! Love your honest garden tour - it will all come good in the end.
I too get child like exited about little plants popping up, garden is looking good 🎉
Great veg garden and lovely ducks, They are the bees knees.
I still need to plant out the garden, our last frost date is the 10th of June. So don't feel bad. we have 110 growing days. I wish I could grow watermelon like growing up in FL. Your garden looks beautiful. Thank you for the tour.
Fantastic success with those beautiful gardens! Thanks for sharing! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦
Ben's having a horrific time with squash bug's. Chicken's & ducks won't touch them. He's asked farmers in your area how to get rid of them. THEY ALL JUST LAUGH AT HIM! NO JOKE. Good luck getting rid of them. Can't wait for cook & harvest time. Have you been to see Meg & Bens new baby? If so l hope you filmed it. God bless you all and ☦️ many prayers ☦️ 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister ☦️ 🙏🏻
So far, we’ve only found the squash bugs on the single plant that the ducks can’t reach. I’m interested to see if the ducks help THAT much because they eat those things right up. Same with the vine borers 😃 we brought them dinner when she was first born, didn’t film to let them have their privacy but she’s pretty darn cute😊
Love that you are into gardening, it’s hard work especially when it’s time to can everything.
I also have long hair (though not as thick as yours appears) and I always put it up in a ponytail or braid when I'm working in the garden. I've been doing it for so many years, I can't imagine working with it down loose.
Your garden is looking lovely and healthy. The flowers will be such a nice entrance to the garden and the sunnies will make a beautiful backdrop. Your small peppers might surprise you since we do have a long growing season here in NC. The bolted cilantro flowers will be wonderful for the beneficial insects and pollinators. Your carrots and peas look delicious. I didn't have my beds ready in time to plant them this year but am hoping to try some in a fall garden. You are a brave woman to plant mint directly in the ground. Enjoy your family visit!
I started Strawberry Mint and it’s really struggling to get going. It’s amazing to see how much farther things are for you compared to where we are. Our nighttime temps are still in the 40’s and compared to previous years I started my seeds a little late so I guess it’s working out. I was finally able to get some zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes planted today. Even after up potting they want to be in the ground. We will likely have some issues tomorrow but hopefully everything will bounce back. At some point stuff just needs to get into the ground. Tomorrow the rest of the tomatoes, peppers, pickling cukes, squash and pumpkins, and cantaloupe, sunflowers, corn and whatever else I’m forgetting. I have a few herbs coming from Azure this week as well so looking forward to getting those in the garden.
Nice tour, thanks for sharing. I hope you have a great week.
Wow, here in the UK, our peas are just starting to flower. You are far ahead of us for sure. Looks like a great garden!
We have planted almost identical things 👌 although you’re much farther ahead…
Great video 😁
Yes, my little garden is growing good right now! I’m growing some mild peppers for the first time and I’m seeing the peppers starting to form! It’s exciting!
You both have worked so hard and it is certainly paying off
Enjoyed the garden tour
Wow, your garden is so big!!! We live in Ashe County and we’ve had rain too! Hopefully this week we’ll see some sunshine!
I’m late planting too-you are not alone! My tomatoes just got planted, green beans are looking good, but my squash hadn’t even come up yet! We’ll be eating it all before you know it!
I love it when you mention Ben & Meg! I’m sure they are great neighbors! Have you met Elizabeth yet?
Enjoy your company! Happy weeding too! (never ending)
Thanks for watching! And yes we have. She’s the cutest little thing! We brought them dinner when she was a week old & got to meet her😊
I love ALL Calico Cow Acres videos!
Enjoy watching things grow also!!!
Aww man! I wished I would've known you guys were at the Farm Where You Live event in 2023. We were there too! I would have loved to have met you.
Hoping to go again next year. It didn’t work out this time around for us. It was fun in 2023!
Love your enthusiasm! I find myself saying the same exciting phrases too…smile.
My lavender didn't come back this year but my butterfly bush did.
The garden looks awesome 🤗
Everyone is dealing with a lot of rain this year and I live in Utah!
Very good job looks fantastic
Lần đầu tiên tôi thấy củ cà rốt màu đỏ như vậy. Ở khu vực của tôi nó màu da cam😮😮😮
😊
Garden looks good. Have you topped your onion sets yet? If you do the bulbs will get bigger. Learned that from MIgardner
We cut the scapes off & use some of the greens for green onions!
Make sure you hill your potatoes so they don’t get sun on them because then it poisons them
These aren’t varieties that need hilling for more growth, and the thick straw keeps them well-covered via the Ruth stout method we’re using 😊
