I worked for the family when I was a teenager and have been doing gun business with them for almost 50 years. They're very good people and have always been great to work with. The rifle came from his grandfather's collection and he had a bunch of cool original winchesters and such. Funny story! The word funny I guess is dependent on one's point of view. I for one have always been one that goes along just because its trendy. Example when every Harley motorcycle rider ha every thing jet black, and on brand specific, i found redundant, and cultish. So as buckskinner for so long that i wore a Tabacco brown fringes and mostly handmade. In the cap&ball ball replica world i prefer Remington over the colts. When it comes early levergun, the redundancy it 1873 colt, and winchester content. Because of this i have decided that the burgess rifle, 1875, and 1890 Remingtons has to be for me. I just haven't accomplished it yet. Everything come slowly at my tin wigwam. However a R92 in .454 casull has to be first to pair with BFR Griz Gettr. Against the grain Mountain man
@@billortloff4215 originally it would’ve been using black powder quite possibly, but also stick cordite powder was coming into use about that same era. The rounds that had been loaded for the gentleman that owned the weapon were loaded at pressure‘s actually lower than cowboy action loads so they were nice and safe.
@bradbranch6462 ok. My family had a .38 wcf. (.38-40). The barrel was poor because I thought of smokeless powder. A loaded round, when fitted, lead first into the tip of the barrel it went all the way to the brass casing. Sadly, the barrel shot out.

It was a very pretty day and I don’t know where all those damn ladybugs and bees came from, I know that there is a beehive close to that area because anytime I shoot soda jugs, especially the fruit, flavored sodas the bees just show up within minutes, but normally they’re paying attention to other things. They’re not trying to just crawl all over me, but they weren’t being angry. They were just flying around. I guess I just happen to be wearing the right cologne that day lol Here’s hoping you and your whole crew over there very merry Christmas as well brother!!
