Now I think it would of been an amazing if some of the sound effects created for the SA-X were just like in Super. It would of been a nice reference and interest the players to insight them to play Super.
@@foulestsauce2404 I knew Samus Return's progression was too linear, it felt a lot like Fusion, even having the same walljump mechanic to limit sequence breaking. At least they added IBJ.
The editing is fantastic! Only thing that'd make this better would be if the SA-X boss music were, say, replaced with the Dark Samus music. Prime 2 version for the chases, Prime 3 for the actual fight. Just make sure you stall the fight so that we get to hear the full song!
@@Sketch_XRwho knows maybe before metroid 6 we may get that to build up hype and reintroduce new players to that along with new areas and bosses even weapons (2 or 3 max) and even access to the ice beam and omega suit
I love this a lot! If Sa-X's AI were better though in Metroid Fusion, this would make it feel you are actually facing a full power Super Metroid version of Samus Aran.
It was an artistic decision, to (1) compliment the SA-X using Super Metroid SFX and imitating the player during that game, and (2) as a little extra touch to pay homage to fact that Samus became part metroid due to the prologue of the game.
im fine with the changes they did in fusion to the SA-X's sfx compared to SM items, only wish they kept the screw attack sound effect from SM and ice beam
Only one thing missing. Needed to replace the creepy SA-X theme with the Super Metroid Crateria Main Theme so you understand that SA-X thinks its the good guy.
I'm still holding out for the day that MercurySteam gets to remake Metroid Fusion like they initially wanted to, so we can get an SA-X that perfectly mimics Samus in Super Metroid.
@@Sketch_XR Metaquarius was making a super metroid mod that was basically non-linear fusion with more sa-x encounters... but nintendo came after him It was called X-fusion
@@Knux5577 That sounds vaguely familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it. Regardless, it sounds sick as Hell and I will be checking it out. Thanks so much for the kind words!
I just realized the reason why the SA-X doesnt fully use morphball is becuase a soul is required to use it an the x parasites have no soul. When samus uses it she turns into pure energy and then her spirt/soul follows the ball so she can see where she is rolling.
Love how the SA-X monster form has the same kaiju sound effects that many of super metroid’s bosses had
Baby Metroid- Mothra
Ridley- Anguirus
well since the x parasite mimic abilities can also get memories of its victim maybe thats why it has has the sounds of the enemies in super metroid

I wonder if that unmade remake of Metroid Fusion that eventually became Samus Returns might’ve done so.

It sounds SO much better like this. Super Metroid has a far more oppresive ambience and that's even noticeable in Samus' sound effects
Really feels like you fight with the Samus from Super Metroid

This is beautiful, thank you for making this!
pretty cool. The Power bombs sounded way better in super
I like how much slower the explosion is in the Super Metroid version is. Sounds like it's more destructive that way.
And also the slowdown effect they have. Feels soo destructive
SO true, Fusion's supers sound more like a gust of wind than a screen wiping bomb
Never thought about how cool it would have been if SA-X had Super Metroid sound effects until now.
Why did samus sound like a metroid after being hit with a missle?

This is a masterpiece, and they should've done this themselves, but i dont think they could've

yes, this.... and you are the corrupted version. it thinks its doing what its supposed to. this would have been perfect.
This is brilliant! Such a clever idea.
The ice beam also should've looked like super
I heard those Metroid sound effects when Samus got hit and downed :]
Considering it's a super metroid sprite, it fits even better

Would’ve been cool if you made the chase music the boss music in super Metroid
If I had done another music pass before publishing, I totally would've done something like that as well.
Kraid theme seems like it fits, the battle would probably have the ridley, draygon theme
would've done wonders for the meta-narrative
I really like da crunchy missles :(
Oddly satisfying
Is it a Romhack or something similar?
Neither. The SFX were edited in post using ProTools, as a proof of concept. But I'm sure someone could make it into a romhack very easily.
