I've always been an introvert. Lived in NYC for three fantastic years and never felt lonely at all! NYC forces you to squarely focus.

I only feel lonely when I'm in the States. When I go abroad, especially Europe or Latin America, I feel free and connected to people.

Exactly. We (men) have furnished them with technology, social media and what not, and then they turned around and showed us the middle finger.

Technology definitely added to the problem big time. But also I feel, a lot of people grow up in homes. Where they aren't allowed to communicate freely and this builds bad habits. For where you don't know how to understand someone is going thru or they'd more so look down on them first.
Also growing up in a city like NYC is so bad. Because the way the city mentality is built. It's just about keeping your head down, minding your business and staying out of the way. And due to the large crowds, lots of people develop wanting their own space more often. Because they are surrounded by the crowds daily and in turn. You then have a lot of people who worry about themselves.
