i just bought this guitar yesterday, sound is good and the default sound specially the sound library is all that you need. Good Stuff boss
Do we fail to mention that the guy demonstrating it is very good and extremely professional?

@houghbear Yes you can, just turn the distortion off on the pedal, and up on your amp. You can then play with whatever other effects you want. Remember, the ME-25 (and any effects pedal or multi-FX) is independent to your amp settings - experiment changing both about to find what sound you need.
just got my me-25 yesterday !!! its freakin awsome !!!
If you have an extra guitar cable or a headphone jack thingy and put it in the phones thingy on the pedal it will make the pedal sound extreamly better

@miko1975guitar of course, but i was talking about the interface. In the ME series the magic resided on the option of use the manual mode, you know, individual effects blah blah, but here the take that away, so the create a great multi-effects pedal, but with the same limitation of the Zoom 505.

@notslinky99 first go to the effects you want, press the two buttons(this enables your to edit) then select the memory number you want to save the effects with, then save as usual

Exactly right. I know of many great artists who don't get a dime from Line 6, like Dug Pinnick from King's X (who last I checked was still using a Line 6 PODxt Pro for his killer bass tone).
And I know this is BOSS ... I was saying I like BOSS, I just like Line 6 a little better for its amp tone, but I love the BOSS non-amp tone on its mutli-effects gear.
@ThePowerFromTheEvil well i dont listen much to those 2 artists but i know zakk wylde and yes u can get very good distortion, its OD/DS lets u choose from 10 different distortions including OD-1,Dist,Metal,Fuzz etc with fully ajustable paramaters.
i dont think u would be disapointed but since this is my first pedal board im still learning how to use it to its full potential

Some boss pedals are $h!t but this has alot of good sounding effects when a cable or jack is in the phones thingy on the pedal. If you have an extra guitar cable or a headphone jack thingy and put it in the phones thingy on the pedal it will make the pedal sound extreamly better
No. It has many distortions, but you need to save it on a Patch, you can't turn on and off the effects. Then, you can have a clean and a distortion patch and go up and down.
I bought this today, it will be returned to the shop tomorrow.. the unit looks,works fine, and is easy to use but the problem for me is that my sound is muffled/toneless/ very altered/ dull and lifeless, this is in the bypass with no effects on. Called roland about this and was told that I was not the fist one to call about the problem.. If you have a Crap amp then this thing will be fine. Also roland told me that the voicing of an effect is not the same over there whole range.

@notslinky99 you can't. you can save the effect n.28 on the number six or four if you want to change sound quickly...i think so cause i've the same pedal and i have ever done so

if you wnt to play live, i think it is easier to use the ME-20. However, it is pretty similar to the ME-25 and it has more options.
so yeah, the ME-20 is better for live because of it's simplicity but the ME-25 is still great.
@IkanaLink98 I agree... I hated the me-20. The sounds were bad. The new one is so much of an improvement for me! :)

STILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been unable to see how or IF the solo volume can be adjusted and SAVED on patches, if it can,t be , I NEVER would have CONSIDERED buying the thing in the first place. Is ME-25 good for playing live? I'm asking this because I've heard it's better for recording. Any opinions? I think about getting ME-20, ME-25, ME-50 (used for sure) or Vox tonelab st. Not sure what to do.

hey guys i got this pedal effect but it seems that when i play live and connect it to the whole live setup the distortion patches sound much different than in the studio...why is that?

i have the ME 70 and i have to say....they mess up, big time with this thing. It hasn't any relation with the ME series...It's more like the Zoom 505... Just a patches saver. Good product with a wrong name(sorry for my english)
these things are only good for a guitarist who want everything in one, but if you have the money go for the best amps and then add a few stomp boxs for effects. they may seem amazing but u can get better sound than this

@ThePowerFromTheEvil all Boss distortions sound artificial and just plain nasty. if you want a goo distortion get a good tube amp or one of the blackstar distortion pedals

its not about who is being given a lot of money to endorse a company, its about the sound. don't just listen to the so called pro's. i'm just saying unless u have a lot of top quality gear behind this thing it will sound shit. btw this is a boss product, not that line 6 are any better.

it came with instructions yes ! unfortunately it was one of the WORST Boss owners Manuals I ever saw, and they are usually excellent, despite the bad Japanese to English translations !
