      Absolutely the worst review ever 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡the video is Mr Clean talking throughout the video. We see the laptop from far away and back side only. Nothing up close!!! Where is the keyboard at? I open it up and show us the apps. Show us how long it takes to power up and down. Comparison is horrible. Accent is worse. Did I mention the keyboard again. Unsubscribe. Thanks for the review. Having used earlier iterations of both im leaning s5.. personal preference but being able to operate comfortably on your lap allows more flexibility for work while travelling. S9 is much more expensive as well, with features (using as a deidcated tablet, and the pen) that are not worth the added cost.

    Hello Mike - THANK YOU for everything. I am having a really hard time deciding. I had the MSP 7 for two years, and I absolutely loved it. The cons was trying to have on lap at times and the stand feeling like it was "scratching" everything, BUT the pros won. The Pro made me want to work and do work. It made me happy to work. I am wondering would the laptop be better because it holds firmer everywhere and has a bigger screen. I am wanting to start some videos as a youtuber/video influencer/editor. I am in real estate. I am going to be using my laptop for editing videos, Checking Emails, Browing. Which laptop you think? Surface Pro 9 or Surface 5?

      Hey Ann! Thanks for watching and happy to try and help. I’m kind of with you on the surface range. I love the idea of a pro but struggle with the stand and smaller keyboard. That tends to nudge me to the Surface Laptop. However, right now, with the new 13th gen chips in the Galaxy Book 3 range for example as well as Lenovo Yoga etc. I think you’d do well to explore other options as the surface line is feeling dated while we wait for the October refresh. Might get more bang for your buck too.

    hi Mike, due to the software I have to use in college im forced to replace my 2017 MacBook 12 with some kind of windows laptop. I have seen a lot of them and although my MacBook is slow performance wise, none of windows under 2000$ feels the same, screen ,built quality, and most importantly touchpad which I am using frequently seem to be a potential downgrade. I am thinking of buying surface laptop 4 or 5 but there is no store in my area where I could see them in hand. Do you think Surface laptop would be a good choice?

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SL5 is definitely a good choice from a quality perspective, but the processor isn't going to super powerful if you're editing video for example (I'm not sure on your use case as you didn't mention it). I haven't played with one recently but the Lenovo X1 Carbon is very popular in the Windows world and super configurable so that could be worth a look too.

    In the airplane, with the keyboard attached, the surface pro’s screen leg would hang outside the front table edge. Bc there is a hole between the table and the airplane seat that it’s attached to. So it won’t hold your screen. With laptop you won’t have this problem bc the screen weight is supported by the laptop base, not by the leg. Keep in mind this, if you want to use your surface in the airplane

      iI have an 8th gen Dell xps 13, I love it. I loved it so much I spent £2100 on a Dell XPS 15, the cost difference is probably £1700 and in no way was it worth it. The perceived performace differennce for me did not justify that type of money between my old and new laptop at all, one of the many issues being battery life, old laptop doing nothing got 10 hours new laptop doing nothing got 4 hours. Dell were pretty good about providing me with a return and I will likely go back to buy from them again but I don't think that's gonna be for even the 13th gen intel XPS 15, hopefuly 14th gen will be something special but until then I have my ole faithful Dell xps 13.

      Hey Amanda! I think you could absolutely use a SP9 for college. But if you don’t need the tablet functionality that much, you have other options in a laptop form that might be nicer for long amounts of typing / trackpad use 😁.

      Not to me. The specs are what they are based on what someone buys and there’s tons of places to get that info. My goal was to provide comparative info for folks who just need a device that handles all the day to day basics of an average user.

    Hey,
    I am confused between buying the surface 5 and surface pro 9. I will be attending college where i wont be doing heavy duty stuff like coding, designing, etc. I will be using Microsoft 365 a lot. But i want to buy a 2-in-1, for me it looks and feels better. What do you suggest? Will surface pro 9 live upto the task? Or do you suggest something else? Cant be on iOS, have to buy a windows

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  ปีที่แล้ว

      You know the bezels do disappear once you start using it so it’s not too bad. And you can charge using the USB C too so you don’t have to use the surface charger when you’re out and about 😁

    • @liam4184
      @liam4184 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikedropstech That's true. I'm coming from a dell xps (which I personally hate due to about 10 different issues I have with it), so that's why I think the bezels look so bad. I'd be happy if they made them half the width.
      The USB c charging is great, apart from the fact they only have 1 usb c. I'd be a lot more accepting if they had another usb c on the other side. Personally I still wish their charging port turned into an SD card slow ot something 😊

    Who needs 19 hours of battery life? Like seriously? If you go 6 to 10 hours on this device regardless, you’re telling me you’ll never be next to an opportunity to plug it in? that’s assuming you go a straight 6 to 10 hours on it? Never gotten to 30% mark unless I was purposely doing it because quite simply when I would put the device down and knew I wasn’t going back to it I would plug it in. Both my work trucks have a USB-C port that can charge this device so when I’m working, I’m still capable of plugging in if need be, which I’ve never have to do because I’m never running the device 10 hours straight. I may use it for hours out of a 10 to 15 hour period and if I’m using it for a larger workload, then I would generally have it plugged in already.. it just seems like a pointless argument today. Give the device battery life to last three or four days when I go to bed every night the charger easily available to plug into at the end of every day…
    To be clear in my experience with the surface pro 9, leaving it on 120 Hz, And better performance mode, I’ve never used it in a long enough concurrent session to kill the battery before I had the opportunity I’m putting it down and plugging it in when I was done with it. Nobody complains about the Apple Watch battery life that can barely make it the day but that’s because you plug it in at night before you go to bed… And then the argument there is that it requires its own specific charger so now you have to carry a cable around that doesn’t match multiple devices so on the go, the watch is no good after a day.

    • @mikedropstech
      @mikedropstech  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think some of it is the anxiety of worrying you ‘might’ run out for some folks. Although personally, I hate carrying a charger and easily burn through surface batteries in a day consistently. 😔

Testing conducted by Microsoft in August 2022 using preproduction software and preproduction Intel®12th Gen Core™ i5, 256GB, 8GB RAM device.
