Hmong clothes were made sewing by hand, my mom actually sew her own Hmong clothes for the family here in the US for the Hmong new year. Anyone can wear them, and it would be awesome to see more people wear and appreciate them outside our culture. Thanks for shinning the light on us Hmong!

Nyob zoo! I'm Hmong American (born in the US). Thank you for your interest in the Hmong culture. In my opinion, anytime I see different people wearing Hmong clothes, it's a compliment in my eyes that someone else finds our traditional clothes interesting enough to wear. I appreciate your mindfulness too.

I would love to see other people wear our hmong clothing. It is beautiful clothing and if you think it is beautiful as well you should buy it and wear it proudly. It isn't culture appropriation it is culture appreciation. I would love to see both of you in full hmong outfits.

Heck yeah guys, buy it and wear it. We don't do the "cultural appropriation" thing in our culture. Hmong people appreciate seeing other people wear our clothes.

Yes!! You can wear it. I collect their beautiful skirts. I probably have about ten I’ve bought over the years.
I wear them with t shirts. If I have one on in CM ,,, many Ladies stop me and smile,, and point.
They really get a kick out of it.

Thanks for the respect you show to these people. The time and effort needed to hand make those products should tell the rich tourists to stop trying to bargain all the time. I import hammocks made by the hill-tribes north of Chiang Rai and they are great people. I didn't know there was a Hmong market in C. Mai cause it is more Lannas territory.

It is not cultural appropriate, you can wear, buy and what not. It's only cultural appropriate if it's exploitation, disrespectful, and or stereotypical. You both are appreciating it. So it is completely and totally fine. Big plus since you know a bit of the history. So thank you for showing the internet.
