    I sent Jena's 8 outs in the E Bank into the Bitbox triggers and with a little modulation got the most amazing jazz-combo sound I've ever heard. It sounded like two drummers improvising, but always locked to the rhythm.

      Thanks for sharing. I still need to try this, probably in Episode 05.

    Yeah, that 'Lipsk > Erfurt > Gera' combo is unbelievable, I wish I could get that combo, it seems like the kind of odd rhythm generator I freaking want. Your demo of it is insane, mate!

    23:03 God this last part sounds just incredible. I'm not into heavy noise or distortion but when there's just a little bit it can add such a satisfying texture to everything... With those "bwomm" bass stabs coming in.... I'd listen to a 5min generative recording of that on loop

    I could listen to your Leibniz experiments all day.

      I wish I could but I can't listen to noise all day. I am so happy I finally 'discovered' reclocking.

    Great video! I loved the "patch-only" rhythms.

      Me too! I'll try Jena's rhythm banks in a next episode.

    Glad to see you’re finally having fun with your Leibniz system(s)- and thank you for the ‘clocking Drezno with a 258t’ idea, which would never have occurred to me because all my Buchla gear is in a separate case!

      It was funny. I read about 'reclocking' the bus in the manual, but the information got lost due to lack of knowledge and experience. I got the idea of using the 258t while taking a walk, which also inspired me to try the Sinc Iter from Noise Engineering. And then, days later, it occured to me that Berlin is designed for that role, and Poczdam could already do it from 0 to 2 MHz. Now the manuals read totally different because it makes sense. Information only works when you're capable of digesting it into knowledge :).

    I've been watching Tom's Xaoc videos, he was the first to explain the Leibniz system in a way that I understood. I read your description before watching the video, you say it's a better system for CV than audio. My Xaoc modules so far (2x Batumi/Poti Mk1 combos, a Zadar/Nin combo, and Samara 2) are all utilities, as are the next 3 I plan on - Warna, Sopot, and Bytom. I'm taking my time to see if I want to buy into Liebniz, not sure yet. But, I always enjoy your videos, so we'll see.

      I am not saying it's 'not good for audio', it's just that 8-bit audio has its limitations and you'll need to be creative with it. I am wondering if I can make 1 bit audio with the hyperfast Berling clock but I guess I'll need a second Berlin. I am currently investigating if/how to expand my Leibniz set and if it will make a difference.

    Awesome explorations!!
    Seeing your Five12 Vector I wonder how much you enjoy using it? Are you also planing on any deep dive video on it? Curious how you would utilize it :)

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Actually, I added it to the case to make sure I learn how to finally use it and I've been playing with it for an hour or two. It's sad I almost never used it when the MK2 is now out...

    • @v.rtx_void
      @v.rtx_void 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @CinematicLaboratory AFAIK the MK2 has only the advantages of having an additional set third subsequencers and CC messages per track, apart from more memory for Presets and Templates, so function wise it is still similar to the MK1 except the additional CV X/Y outs

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@v.rtx_void Indeed I saw the Superbooth video and they had to make a MK2 because of chip shortages. Super cool the new expander is still compatible, but damn it's expensive. So I decided to get a second Lipsk and Poczdam. I don't need a drum sequencer with Leibniz :).

    I try it multiple times, its really not easy to get my head around it.
    Why do you not like wavetable OSCs so much?

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      A single wave in a wavetable only provides room for one cycle, which is either a basic waveform (a sine, saw, etc), some metallic buzz, noise or spikes. I'd like to work with the basic waveforms and go from there. Doing EXPO or (TZ)LIN FM on two sinewaves gives me much more interesting sounds and timbres so I'd rather use a complex VCO. If I were to use a wavetable VCO, i'd use the basic shapes the most. There are a few exceptions, like NE Cursus Iteritas (which generates wavetables from scratch) and the awesome Intellijel ShapeShifter which qualifies as a complex wavetable VCO and goes into 'Serum' territory.

      @@CinematicLaboratory Ah, with the help of ChatGPT I get what you mean: =)
      With the Neuzeit Instruments Warp you can also build with a additive approach your Wavetables from the ground up.
      Anyway, you Video showing how great the Xaoc Subsystem is for rhythms, that made it really interesting for me.
      I really consider to get Lipsk and Erfurt for my case. Thx

    Aha! .. a man after my own heart .. Marbles & Bitbox .. I've been hacking around, in this corner of the universe, too. And interesting to me, .. is what Stages can contribute, as well, just harvesting the gate signals. Example: a series of gate/red channels, which allows for all the syncopation that is desired. A person does have to have enough voltage to trigger Bitbox, though.
    (Excuse me, .. it's the Erfurt that's doing most of the lifting, I see ..)

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Indeed, Marbles is just sending the clocks to push Erfurt back and forth. As for Stages, it's one of the most versatile modules I have in my rack and I guess it would be cool to use it as a sequential switch in the Leibniz universe.

    • @KenSwanson-p4i
      @KenSwanson-p4i 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CinematicLaboratory Robert, .. I believe it was this video, where you commented on viewable (vs not) controls, and of course, Stages is the poster module, for being "viewable".
      Another rabbit hole, that I've gone down is to set 4 step/orange channels, in sequence .. and then harvest the trigger signal off of the 3rd step, let's say, .. to another grouping of the 3 gate/red channels, to obtain a triplet sort of thing. Promising notion .. though, I'm using up precious channels, for other things, .. just having 2 modules.

    • @KenSwanson-p4i
      @KenSwanson-p4i 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Weeeeell, overoptimism/whatever .. now, I can't get Bitbox to trigger responsively, to these quick hits, of a triplet type function, off of Stages. The signal out of Stages is correct, (still modulating Beads, correctly) .. but it's apparently too weak for Bitbox to initiate a pad to sound .. I've looked awhile in the Bitbox manual, .. and I'm not finding a sensitivity setting for voltage in .. drats ..

    • @KenSwanson-p4i
      @KenSwanson-p4i 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To anyone, reading this far in .. there is a way, to do the above mentioned .. have another channel, to the left, also set to gate/red .. with the pot fully clock-wise/almost no time length, of the left-most channel .. THEN the other 3 channels operate Bitbox, as I was hoping for. It seems strange, eh?
