  • Boat fishing consumes more than 1 full day and it costs some.
If you do not want to go to such an extent for fishing, you probably look for walkabout fishing spots within city area.
I visited Kota Kinabalu more than 10 times, and based on what I have discovered, I made this introduction video for fishing spots in Kota Kinabalu
I hope you find this video useful for your future travel to Borneo Island.

The Government should encourage fishing activities. They should construct comfortable and accessible fishing jetties to be made available to the general public. Thanks for the video bro.

Yes, Fishing is huge business anywhere in the world.
I know people in Malaysia also love fishing too.
I felt the need for more construction for fishing spots within city areas.

Hey man, I love the video. I have just been looking and hoping to go to that area. Is a permit required? Also, you mentioned fishing nearer the cities. If I managed to get a car to drive to more remote parts is it possible to catch some bigger fish? or would you say it is mostly fished out? Hoping to try freshwater as well. Cheers, any advice is much appreciated

Hi Entering the resort does not require permission. I am not sure if there is any change over time but at least went went there several times no one stopped as there are restaurants, golf course, cafe too, so it should be open to every potential customers.
If you go to remote parts, it much depends on where you go rather than just going to remote areas.
I recommend Kudat if you are prepared to drive 3 hours east
