    Awesome video! As a strictly English speaker living in Korea it’s difficult to find fishing content. Your videos are very informative and your editing skills add so much value to the videos.

    Thanks for creating this video, it's great information! Just arrived in Seoul last month and am still a bit lost about going fishing in Korea, because I don't speak much Korean. I would love to go fishing with you, if that offer still stands :)

    Perfect timing to find this video....my son is right now standing in Gangneung. I think he was headed out to the white or red lighthouse on the seawall. I sent him this to watch.

      This is Acuta's son, actually drove out to Samcheok yesterday. Drove a little south to the Hujin Embankment where I saw my first fish actually being caught since ive been here in Korea. Was able to cast my line out just before last light and caught my first fish here! Gave it to the ajusshi's to add to their collection before driving back home.

    I Love your use of google Sat maps. Drone footage. Ground video. To help the viewer better understand the location.
    Great overview of the various regions of the south Korean Peninsula and the types of game fish targeted.
    I’m from the USA and am interested ahead of my trip to S.Korea.

      Oh I am glad to hear that the information I provided was helpful for you! It seems like you are living in Korea. In case you have an opportunity to come down South to Geoje(거제), we can go out together. But it has to be from July for big fish.

    Flying out to for my first trip to Korea. Landing in KR on Sunday. Myeondong area.
    Hopefully I will find a good tackle store and go look at local fisherman fishing. 😬

      @@rockyshore-english I figured out how to navigate around and also how to get some tackle shops to show up on the Navi Map app. I hit up a bunch of stores. Some are amazing.
      There as so many tackle and gear. For various fishing technique that I am not familiar with. I purchased a Korean fishing book and hopefully can learn some of the methods from the diagrams and pictures. Anyways, I spent many days seeking out and browsing the Korean tackle store. Even managed to purchase some new fishing gear. And the store even packaged up the rods in heavy duty boxes to make the trip back home.
      Rods were all in their packages so it’s hard to shop for them. Especially since I wasn’t able to communicate properly with the store staff. I show the staff an example of the rod we use for the lightweight surf setup in southern CA. It was the Phenix Trifecta Lite 904MH rated for 1/2-1oz.
      He suggested a NS rod as well as a Shimano. However, he feels the Shimano one was the better of the two. So I picked up a 23 Dialuna S90ML paired with a Vanquish C3000XG. Such a pretty combo, like it was made for each other. Was hesitant and unsure if the ML action had enough backbone for the Flounder (Halibut) and Corvina and Striped Bass I wanted to target in San Diego. Happy to say this lightweight surf set up is perfect after coming back home and fishing with it. Has the power, and nice bend to keep the fish pinned. Plus still sensitive. Throws a 110mm jerkbait minnow well.
      I asked the shop staff where to fish in Seoul. And seems like one must travel to the west or eastern seas to fish. Quite a trip just to go fishing. So I didn't get to try fishing in Korea.
      My wife and I are already looking into a follow up trip. We're thinking of Busan. The only negative of the whole trip is the summer heat and humidity. It makes it hard to move around when one's constantly soaked with sweat like I am. 😅 The amazing cafes and coffee every few steps made up for it.

    Hello! Great video. Is bait fishing common in Korea? Using squid, octopus and shrimp? Also, are there fish like grouper, drum and emperor fish?

    • @rockyshore-english
      @rockyshore-english  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Common bait in South Korea is what we call krill which is smaller shrimp.
      But if also use blood worm, sliced mackerrel too.
      We have grouper and drummer. Emperor fish can be found in the far south such as Jeju island but other parts of South Korea, Bream can be found.

    Love the videos. 형 do you know where I can find fishing rules & regulations for South Korea? I would love to get back into fishing in Korea but I don't know of the regulations in Korea. Preferably in English but Korean is fine. Thank you

    • @5injo
      @5injo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well... maybe there is no rules and regulations written in English. I don't think we have any special rules and regulations for foreigners.
      But you have to keep your safety by yourself and release minimum fish size by the law.

    • @difreshjo
      @difreshjo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can call and ask to the city hall if you are ok with speaking in Korean.
      Im from Busan and only fishing at fresh waters like reservoir, river kind of places so ye there are rules and regulations for a lot of fishing spots, you can easily find warnings on the board near by water says not allowed to fishing at this area or not allowed to use powder based baits (like the one for asian carp fishing) plus there are rules and regulations for endangered species you cannot bring those and cannot fishing.

      Hi April is not so great time as the sea temperature does not recover yet. You can target cold water fish like cod in the east sea or rock fish.

    • @Baywolf_films
      @Baywolf_films 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. The information really helps us plan. We catch Cod and rock fish here in Washington, so probably won't fish in Korea this trip then.
