- Hydroponics is a technique of growing vegetables without soil, but using nutrient rich water and different substrate to hold the roots. For this we use different systems. Examples being, NFT, Dutch bucket, aeroponics etc. These can be adapted to our requirement, availability of space, type of crops, climate etc.
In this video, I am explaining few popular hydroponic systems in use now a days.

I tried growing lettuce.
1. germination was poor. 2. Growth was not good. 3. Leaves came out bitter.
You can try growing few now (winter time) and experiment 👍🏻
@@FreshLeaves yeh because of seed Veritys, needs just cool weather, not more water if you harvesting lettuce if you watered so much the leaf will be bitter.

I live in Aluva, where can we buy Micro nutrients from. My understanding about macro is 2g NPK, 2g Calcium nitrate & 1g Epsom salt per 3.5litre of water. Is that right? Can I call you over phone?
Usually the salts available in our stores are for soil application. For hydroponics there are special water soluble nutrients, and they are in certain specific proportions. The local available salts might work, but i never experimented with that. I usually follow hydroponic ready made nutrients.
