Canonically speaking,...an ogryn has gotten the jump on and pummeled and chaos astertes. Both times were boneheads, and both times, they were augmented in more ways than standard ogryn boneheads. It's still funny that it's happened twice. Beyond that, ogryn charonites cannocially wrecked world eaters so bad fugin Horus had to show up just to get his men away.
Limbsplitter sounded cool, but I noticed that if I hit something within the 4 second window it reset the cooldown. Thrust+Slaughterer made the Branx a pretty good all-rounder, still specialized vs. single target but serviceable against crowds with the push attack/weapon special into heavy-light diagonal combo. I think the Karsolas gets two overhead attacks after the pull or push attack, either a heavy and light or two lights. I think they both have their place, but I'm preferring the Branx for raw power. I don't have a decent Borovian yet, it feels the most jank of the three so far but I'm sure that's somehow gonna make it the best lmao
Yeah I am with you. For me I think its just that its much easier to get overwhelmed by shit and if you’re caught in the middle of a slow recovery animation or something thats a big ol GG. I have gone down more with pickaxes than anything else lol. I also am not good so there is that
@@METALTHUGX I've definitely had to change how I play, I'm blocking more than I do even with the shield. If you get the momentum going it keeps going strong but the moment something goes wrong it's hard to recover and get back to swinging consistently. I've always preferred the big, slow, heavy attack playstyle anyway so I feel right at home with the new picks. Poxbursters coming in at the wrong time are definitely the worst part so far.
I played a game with the middle pickaxe, we went through an airlock and there was a pack of enemies waiting. I just put up the parry and pushed, pushed pushed while going through and the team savaged all the enemies on the ground, then 3 crushers were coming at us and I just bull rushed them and pickaxed them all. So savage. Everything in front of that pickaxe just dies, even big enemies. If fighting chaff pull or slide sideways to get more of them each swing. The rest kind of solves itself. Hooking shields is awesome too. Ogryn love pickaxe.
Rock & Stone, dawg I love hearing lore from other ogryn on their great feats of strength and hard thinking. It recasts my belief in humanity buff. Yeah I will forever forget that I can do it but it is fun pulling the shield
After testing you would htink the horde clear would be decent but at the highest lvl it chains so slow that you get messed up by hordes. Made me drop it
@@Soki09 Great if you got a solid team that clears hordes so you can slay hard big targets without being bothered by chaff. Destroying a monstrosity or single shot kill crushers is fun until you get swarmed by a horde and the ants bring you down with sheer numbers. Playing with randoms pick the middle axe so you can do more horde clear. Also don't forget to pull mouse sideways as you swing to hit multiple opponents.
I don't get why everyone says the borovian is bad, it has single target when you need it and first heavy then light repeated has all the wave clear I've ever needed
Limbsplitter on the all strike down pickaxe can oneshot mutants on a single heavy making it pretty useful. You can get a setup to one shot crushers as well as an alternative to thrust 3-4 for one shot potential. Depending on how you want to set it up thrust allows quicker high priority target take down’s with dedication for damage. Limbsplitter lets you be more free getting essentially max thrust 4 every 4ish seconds. Id recommend having at least 2 curio’s with stamina regen to sorta horde clear with your push attack chained into a heavy lets you sorta horde clear well enough considering the swapping attack’s patterns are good… I’ve noticed the range of attacks when using the pure strike down variant like this is well shorter then it feels like it should be range wise. Both means of using the strike down variant can one shot: crusher’s, mutant’s and anything beneath that with either thrust 3-4 and limbsplitter, having both on the weapon feels overkill but you can become a boss killer with this combo. I would recommend using thrust for boss targeting and limbsplitter for free assistance horde clearing as it can help you reach certain break points for one hit kill’s on a bunch of enemies when using block push attack chained with heavy. I like these pickaxes but the horde clear vanguard variant appears to be the slowest version like the zelots alternate heavy eviscerate that is only wide sweep’s.
Damn, dawg I SUPER appreciate the info dump. I am pretty trash at min maxing so I take like everything at face value then let people tell me im wrong or an idiot. I have such a hard time coming off of Haymaker though and I don’t think I am good enough at the game to run a pickaxe on the reg HOWEVER, a boss killing build does sound like something I can get behind.
For the first pickaxe use push attack into heavy and light and repeat
oh word, okay, thank ya!
0:28 ,,Large and in charge" I like that 😂
You know how it be lol
I watched an ogryn pummel his way through maulers and bulwarks with it, im convinced you could take on a chaos astartes if you get the jump on him 😂
A Good Ogryn in the right place with a pickaxe can accomplish anything.
Oh I believe it. If you optimize this especially
Mining kills babyyyy
@@KillerOrca Pickaxe is pure Ogryn love. So fun to play.

I would like to point out the Branx has good Chaff clearing when using the Chain heavy light it loops It worked good
