"The composer Johannes Brahms was in love with Clara Schumann - but unfortunately she was married to the composer Robert Schumann, one of Brahms' best friends." Knew this after watching Do You Like Brahms?
@@jass254 yes. Brahms corresponded with Klara, but not about feelings. His tender and caring letters had big supportive power for her to continue her concert life during very hard times and Robert illness. He encouraged Klara to continue with her own compositions. In other words Brahms selflessly gave his heart to a woman without asking anything in return! Besides he was Robert Schumann’s BEST friend until Robert’s death.
He fell in love with Clara after Robert's health deteriorated and was sent to asylum where he died 2 years later , brahms was there at Clara's house to support her and her 7 children mentally, bonding started to form between young brahms and Clara (then already a mother of 7).
This takes my mind to wonderful places. From running down beautiful green meadows on a sunny day to walking down a cool semi dark forest where you can see sunlight peaking down the tall tall green trees. Is that the ocean I hear over that cliff ahead?
The third movement (Poco Allegretto @ 1:15:49) of the Third Symphony in F Op.90 is possibly the most sophisticated, bittersweet and haunting pieces of music I have ever heard. It is made even sadder in comparison to the previous sweet innocence of the Andante movement. As it progresses the third movement grows more worldly wise and any attempt to return to the former sweetness is met with a new cynicism which makes each note dig deeper into the heart. Thankfully, the fourth movement triumphs over the heartache but its memory is indelible. Does anyone else agree or am I just over intellectualizing something that should simply be enjoyed? I have love Brahms for years but I am unfamiliar with so much of his music I am always thrilled to hear pieces that are new to me. Thank you for this opportunity! Now a lot of my friends think I'm nuts but I have always preferred Brahms over Beethoven, finding Beethoven a bit too ponderous for my taste. Beethoven is bratwurst, sauerkraut and potatoes, filling but heavy, where as Brahms is more schnitzel with noodles, satisfying and delicious. But then, I have always preferred the modern Russian composers, i.e. Prokofiev and Rachmaninov to the Germans. So sue me. BTW does anyone know if Rachmaninov or Rachmaninoff is correct? I've seen it both ways and it's too late to ask Sergei. Such is life living with our present dilemma; disputable information and fake news! And thank you Hayden T for pointing out the absurdity of commenting.
I don't think you are over intellectualizing. You remind me of my music classes at university. I think you are a high-spirited person and that's good! To answer your question about nov or noff, it sounds like noff, but is written nov, with the German hard v.

I'm a Heavy Metal guy ,I love this music ,I love this, unbelievable music, brilliant, can't imagine not hearing this😮😅😊
1:08:49 -- this might be just me, but I love how the music is made so that is mostly coming from the right side with a little from the left, creating this unsettling feeling.
What piece of music is this?
Lindo! Uma pena que aqui no Brasil a mídia não valoriza esse estilo musical e por consequência poucos conhecem.
"The composer Johannes Brahms was in love with Clara Schumann - but unfortunately she was married to the composer Robert Schumann, one of Brahms' best friends." Knew this after watching Do You Like Brahms?
Yes same here
I literally am watching that show😂
Does that really happened? (Irl
5:33-7:50 orchestra version, 7:51-8:55 piano version.
Thank you Mister Brahms :)
Danke, Herr Brahms. Alle beiden Versionen finde ich wunderschön :-))
¿Cómo se llama ésta obra?
This takes my mind to wonderful places. From running down beautiful green meadows on a sunny day to walking down a cool semi dark forest where you can see sunlight peaking down the tall tall green trees. Is that the ocean I hear over that cliff ahead?
СПАСИБО !!! Слушаю и отдыхаю !!!
Brahms is a genius composer ... his Hungarians compositions douse your soul !!
Official TwoSetViolin representative here. THIS IS MY JAM!!!
