Beware doubling the 7th in the bass and tenor (no measure numbers) at 4:45. I know it looks on paper like a strong beat D7/F# going to a weak beat a-min/C as a kind of extended-passing chord but it sounds like a chord re-voicing (which it is what it really is at the very early middle ground, structurally speaking if you are familiar with that kind of speak) of the D7/F# to D7/C resolving to a G-maj/B on the weak beat of the next measure. But, hey, I don't have the greatest ear, so don't take my word for it. Nice work in any case!
Thanks. Interesting comment. Due to the E in the soprano, the second chord in that measure only sounds to me as ii6 in G major (functioning as neighboring chord to the following V42), so I do not hear two 7ths at that point.
@@MiltosMelengoglou It's interesting. This type of bass ("bass walked") Bach (and, even before him Handel) "copies" it from Corelli, whose works he knew well. In particular: Andante largo from Concerto Grosso number 11. and also the Preludes of the Sonatas 1,7 and 8 of the op. 2, the Grave of the Sonata 12 op. 1, the Prelude of the Sonata 2 op. 4. It's a very nice geometric harmonic construction that Corelli first elaborates, and in many ways. Bach appreciated its value.
@@uigliam Yes, I know that this kind of "walking" bass originates with Corelli. I wanted to compose a prelude in the same style, the similarity is intentional.
@@MiltosMelengoglou Naturally. I too think these are still useful templates for delving into tonal composition. They are archetypes. You're doing great work, and I know it's not easy.
If you are asking about my book, it should be released later this year. I will announce the release in the description of my videos, for whoever is interested.
Very nice composition, wonderful fugue. BRAVO!!!
Thank you very much.
The walking bass makes suspensions easy and fun! The fugue is very impressive and sounds like Bach.
The fugue is great. Especially the double fugue section. But compared to that the end stretto was a bit weaker. But overall really well composed ;)
Fantastic ! Bach would be proud of such a good disciple. I guess this is a MIDI recording ?
Thank you! This is just Musescore's playback of the piece.
Wonderful work :)

congratulation for this new
professionell new Chanel
Thanks
Pleasant exercise. 👍 Remember Bach, the 24th Prelude, where Bach imitates Arcangelo Corelli...

Thanks. You are right about the Bach prelude.
