French overture?
Yes.
Sounds like wf bach fantasia in c minor
Bach a fait beaucoup mieux !
Beware doubling the 7th in the bass and tenor (no measure numbers) at 4:45. I know it looks on paper like a strong beat D7/F# going to a weak beat a-min/C as a kind of extended-passing chord but it sounds like a chord re-voicing (which it is what it really is at the very early middle ground, structurally speaking if you are familiar with that kind of speak) of the D7/F# to D7/C resolving to a G-maj/B on the weak beat of the next measure. But, hey, I don't have the greatest ear, so don't take my word for it. Nice work in any case!
Thanks. Interesting comment. Due to the E in the soprano, the second chord in that measure only sounds to me as ii6 in G major (functioning as neighboring chord to the following V42), so I do not hear two 7ths at that point.
Excellent work!
Thanks!
Fantastic ! Bach would be proud of such a good disciple. I guess this is a MIDI recording ?
Thank you! This is just Musescore's playback of the piece.
Wow, this is really elegant. i loved how melodic how the melody just flowed like a river, great work.
Thanks!

Love the fugue. Beautifully crafted. Didn't know what to expect with the subject but loved how you developed it
Thanks!
The thematic work ist Not that great. Pretty boring
Trolling, eh ?
No.
Very nice composition, wonderful fugue. BRAVO!!!
Thank you very much.
A beautiful and great composition! I like it very much! Thanks for uploading!
Thank you very much.
Beautiful.
I am very excited for the release of your book! When will it be available and where can I purchase a copy? And do you perhaps have any additional resources available online while we wait for the the book's publication?
Thank you very much for your interest. The book will be released in a few months, most probably before the end of 2023. When it is released, I will post a link in the description of my videos for those interested in purchasing it. I am sorry but I don't have any resources available online at the moment, whatever resources will be available will appear after the release of the book.
@@scooterk23 Thank you again, but I am afraid what you are asking is not possible. Please be patient, it is only a matter of a few months until the book is released. I hope you find in it what you are looking for.
Αγαπητέ κε Μενεγκόγλου (ελπίζω να το γράφω σωστά), τι όμορφα, που μας γεμίζετε με τέτοια μουσική! πού θα μπορούσε να βρει κάποιος τις συνθέσεις σας σε παρτιτούρα;
Well-composed fugue. Incredible. And of course, I'm not going to ignore the prelude; that was also cool.
Thank you very much.
Great harmony, I think this approaches the style of Handel pretty well. Just be wary of hidden consecutive fifths and octaves. For example at 1:03, the C in the 3rd voice would sound better to stay at a C rather than jumping to F to form an octave with the bass. Similarly at 1:58, the C in the 3rd voice jumps down to an A to form a fifth with the bass, it would be better to rearrange the inner voices to avoid that. If you listen closely to your recording you will notice the places where the voice leading sounds a bit weaker, which can usually be improved by moving one or two voices around. I'm curious to learn more about your book by the way, do you have a release date in mind?
Thank you. With regard to fifths and octaves, I don’t really see any problem with the instances you mention. They are not really cases of "hidden" fifths or octaves. If you think that in these places some other voicing of the chords would sound better, that is fine, but if you look at Handel’s (or any other composer’s) scores, you will find many similar cases to the ones you objected to here. Do not forget that this is an orchestral score and not a harmony exercise, where inner voices generally avoid unnecessary leaps. If you look at Handel’s overtures, you will see that the inner voices make a lot of leaps that would be out of place in a harmony exercise. With regard to my book, I hope it will be released by the end of this year. It all depends on the publisher. In summary, the book is a harmony manual in the modern sense (using chord inversions and Roman numerals), at the same time adopting the “schema” approach by incorporating those of the 18th-century schemata (stock harmonic progressions) that are found in Bach and Handel. The book focuses on practice and does not require any prior knowledge of harmony or counterpoint.
Excelente, me recuerda mucho también a Czerny Op.822
Love this ❤️. I wish I could play it.
Me recuerda a Czerny Op.856, excelente trabajo
Está hermoso el preludio

These are very good German-style “French overtures”. Your knowledge of harmony is great! Also your fugatto subjects 😍. I prefer the French style though. Less heavy, more graceful. Are you acquainted with the French take on the French Overture? One of my favorites is Campra’s overture to Le Carnaval de Venise. You’ve been working hard, I’m going to go listen to your other works.
Thank you very much. Of course I like the French style, but my preference is with Bach and Handel, and I never tire of listening to their French overtures. I guess it is a matter of taste.
The walking bass makes suspensions easy and fun! The fugue is very impressive and sounds like Bach.
А где можно взять ноты этого произведения? Заранее спасибо
Thank you for your interest. I will post the score on my website, which will be launched in a few months.
I really like this song, who is the composer for this piece?
Thanks. I am the composer of this piece.
I thought this piece is from J.S Bach😂
@@gabrielwoonys70 That's a great compliment, thanks!
Pleasant exercise. 👍 Remember Bach, the 24th Prelude, where Bach imitates Arcangelo Corelli...
Thanks. You are right about the Bach prelude.
@@MiltosMelengoglou It's interesting. This type of bass ("bass walked") Bach (and, even before him Handel) "copies" it from Corelli, whose works he knew well. In particular: Andante largo from Concerto Grosso number 11. and also the Preludes of the Sonatas 1,7 and 8 of the op. 2, the Grave of the Sonata 12 op. 1, the Prelude of the Sonata 2 op. 4. It's a very nice geometric harmonic construction that Corelli first elaborates, and in many ways. Bach appreciated its value.
@@uigliam Yes, I know that this kind of "walking" bass originates with Corelli. I wanted to compose a prelude in the same style, the similarity is intentional.
@@MiltosMelengoglou Naturally. I too think these are still useful templates for delving into tonal composition. They are archetypes. You're doing great work, and I know it's not easy.
@@uigliam Thank you very much.
Καλησπέρα. Πότε θα είναι διαθέσιμο το βιβλίο;
Καλημέρα. Πιστεύω ότι το βιβλίο θα εκδοθεί μέχρι το τέλος του 2023.
Score please so I could provide a pianistic rendition... Or on an organ.
Thank you for your interest. I will post the score on my website, which will be launched in a few months.
Грустная. И. Легкона. Душе. Одновременно
I particularly like the prelude, bravo! The fugue reminds me of the A minor fugue of Bach's WTC II. Anyways, well done! Please check my channel, you could be interested!
👍👍👍❤️💕
Gracias por la partitura sube mas videos asi 😊 🎉
The fugue theme sounds quite similar to the second fugue from the Praeludium in G Minor (BuxWV 149) by Buxtehude)
beaucoup de travaille pour un bon travaille
Beautiful! Which soundfont/VST do you use?
Thank you. I use the grand piano from Muse Sounds, which comes with Musescore 4.
@@MiltosMelengoglouah, did they fix the issue where the first note was hardly audible then? Also, what do you use to record the video?
@@faleru No, I see that this is still unresolved. To make the videos I use Free Cam 8.
this fugue is super well done
The fugue is great. Especially the double fugue section. But compared to that the end stretto was a bit weaker. But overall really well composed ;)
I like the prelude quite much
95% of newly written fugues I find on youtube are trash. You're one of the 5% of people who knows what they're doing. Keep it up! :)
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.
Sehr gut
Thanks
Do you take requests for fugue theme composition? That was nice!
Thanks. Not sure what you are asking though.
@@MiltosMelengoglou Like compose a fugue out of a theme. I have a few themes...
@@schrysafis Thanks, but I am not planning to compose another fugue very soon.
Give me a theme and I'll compose you a fugue!

The fugue is very excellent with memorable episodes and a strong subject.
Thanks!
I love this prelude and fugue! Memorable themes and episodes. Bravo
