The main issue with the "note spam" mods you're talking about is not their difficulty, it's that they have trouble putting together a melody because they're so rapid. As such, they function more as percussion. This is exemplified by how the Sheet Music Boss videos of Ballistic and Madness don't quite sound right. This is somewhat missing the point of FnF because the characters are supposed to be singing. I say this as a DDR veteran who appreciates and enjoys the "note spam" mods because I can handle them. But I will admit they don't quite fit.

The fact that Fading is so short makes this even more depressing than it already is, Fading actually feels like you’re saying goodbye, but you just can’t bring yourself to do so, and the aftermath just makes you want to cry because you never got to say everything you wished you could in that small amount of time.

The sad part in this mod is that when Garcello said: “Hope you don’t mind me smoking, it helps calm down the nerves.” It felt like Garcello lost someone close to him and in order to move on, he resorts to smoking. And since Garcello was having as much fun as he had with his old friend, he finally felt like he could move on and he felt like he made a new friend, although it was short. Respect to Garcello.

We need more mods like this. It doesn’t try too hard to be hard, it has amazing music, the art style is phenomenal, there are cutscenes and the story actually affects you emotionally.

We need more mods like this. It doesn’t try too hard to be hard, it has amazing music, the art style is phenomenal, there are cutscenes and the story actually affects you emotionally.
