6. Let us move the order of Bus channels. So frustrating when you almost finished a track and need to add some extra effects or routing to have all the new stuff bunched up at the end away from everything else.
You CAN reorder the Aux numbers. Just Shift select all the Aux tracks, hold down Option, click on the left-most Aux track and set it to Bus 1. If done correctly all the subsequent Aux tracks will be in the correct number order.
That seems to be a popular request! I've never even thought about that. I guess I'm just used to menu diving after so many years of doing it that way. But it seems like a no brainer feature to add!
Great thoughts, but missing : - the glide/slide note in their Piano Roll (from Fruity Loops) - a better, more comprehensive output routing (that 1/2 stereo out is horrendous when working with consoles and such) - a stem separation tool - a freeze option ( for reverbs and delays, etc) - a better way to manage automations
@thirdeyetye Sure, there's a workaround for that (for now). Just convert the Track Automation into Region Automation, stored in a MIDI Region or even a Pattern Region, create a Take Folder for those MIDI/Pattern Automation Regions and done. You can switch between each Automation take just by clicking on them. If you didn't already know, Take Folders work not just for Audio but for MIDI/Pattern regions as well

My #1 ball-breaking missing feature is having Buss I/O names saved with the Project -- NOT as a global setting. It's absolutely maddening; and has been a near dealbreaker for me for a while now. Coming from Pro Tools, the I/O naming for auxes and send, etc. is part of the Session Project. If I open up someone else's session and they have a specific reverb bussed to, say, 31-32 and named Seventh Heaven, that's how it comes up for me. In Logic, their 31-32 Seventh Heaven may be my 31-32 Ac Gtr Sub. So the session makes no sense to the eye and GREATLY slows things down. Logic seems built for one-man warriors in so many ways. But if you want to collaborate with other producers, artists, and studios then fixing this feature is a MUST.

I want to be able to rearrange tracks in the mix window! This drives me insane! I should be able to hold down command option or shift and be able to move a track around…
Hell yeah baby! This has been the #1 issue for me since purchasing Logic back in the 1850’s. If I can move/switch/rearrange the channels in the recording/listening window, why not in the mixer. How stupid are Logic’s genius developers. Aren’t there some 14 yr. old programmers around to help them? If you’re talking about pulling a channel strip out of a Neve or SSL to swop them, of course you need at a minimum a screw driver..but Logic, this is a dang computer..let’s get this done. Can I get an Amen?!
@@sangstersounds one last thing that kills me and takes up so much time is defaulting the freeze function to the option where it doesn’t just do the source audio. This kills me because I’ll freeze everything and then realize it’s all the wrong color. We should be able to choose which one is default.
With Direction mixer you activate “Split” and a select your cutoff frequency where everything under will be summed to mono. Everything over the cutoff point can be panned as well as adjusted for stereo width percentage. Hope this helps!
Aside from a crap Environment layout one of many that perplexes me is the confusion of Bus and Auxiliary channel strips in Logic, it has always been a mystery… why not just have auxiliary channel strips?
The environment is long overdue for a major overhaul! Buses and Aux tracks are a major source of confusion in Logic Pro. If you are interested check out my Definitive Guide to Buses in Logic Pro that you can download in the description box to this video. It may help you out!
8:55 You can already do this. Create a new empty MIDI region from a software instrument track. Select the audio track you want to automate, go to Menu, Track > Other > New Track With Same Channel (or use the corresponding key command). Place the empty MIDI region from before onto this newly created Track with Same Channel. On this Track with Same Channel, create a new Track Alternative. Open Automation view and switch to Region Automation by clicking on the blue ‘Track’ button so that the button now says ‘Region’. Draw your automation in directly on the MIDI region. Duplicate this Track Alternative and draw in a different automation line from the one before. Duplicate the Track Alternatives as many as you need, drawing in new automation every time. To switch between the different Automation ‘takes’, just hit the key command to switch between the different Track Alternatives you’ve created from before to audition each one.
Good list.. I’d add the midi Record Wait feature I use all the time in a different daw. Place your playhead where you want to begin recording, usually somewhere to replace a section that you’re not happy with, enable Wait, press record and as soon as you play a note on your keyboard, recording begins. Also, it would be cool if the faders were color matched.
The "Loop Region" problem you're talking about is fixed IF you use the audio browser inside of Logic. I know it's much easier to drag and drop from the Finder window - but the option you're looking for (playing at original speed/pitch) can be accessed through Logic's own browser (it's an option).
Thanks for the tip! For me, the browser will audition them at the original tempo and pitch but when I import loops they are still auto recognized as loops and conform to the project tempo and pitch. I know this is what we would want most of the time but I still think there should be a region inspector option to change the recognition of the region as a loop or audio region.
I compose my vocal lines/harmonies on piano. I sing to the guide track. Now, I’m a good singer. But just occasionally Flex Pitch will analyse a note wrong. Which is a major pain if I’ve sung a dozen takes in a stack. Why can’t I import that piano guide track into Flex Pitch? Yes, I know I can correct the note using my keyboard, but I want to import the note info for the whole track and then be able to tell Logic how much leeway it has in correcting my singing. Sort of the opposite of extracting note value from an audio file and exporting as midi.
There’s a very easy fix for number 1 and number 6. For number 1, set up your own template and set up the Pan knobs to be Stereo instead of Balance. If you have to create a new track just duplicate one of these tracks with Stereo already set up. For number 6, in the same template create an empty software instrument track, create a new empty MIDI region and then HIDE that track. As long as there’s a region somewhere in your empty template, when you go to add a loop from the browser Logic will not change the tempo. That only happens when your project has no regions in it whatsoever. Anybody who isn’t a beginner should always be starting projects from a custom template. Starting projects from the “Empty” project is a total rookie move only because there are so many defaults that don’t make any sense. Having to go in and make these changes every single time is a pure waste of time. Plus you save yourself a lot of frustration like what you have on display in this video.
Good idea about templates! Im often times getting Logic Projects from mixing clients so I would still love a setting I could just switch on to make things easier. My issue with loops is that they are auto recognized by Logic as such and we can't change this behavior.
@@sangstersounds Ok, in that case what you can do regarding the Pan knobs is to Shift select all of the tracks, then change the Pan knobs in one of the tracks and all of the selected tracks will switch from Balance to Stereo in one shot. In regards to the loops, yes, that's just the way it works with Logic + Apple Loops but as I said if you already have at least a single region (audio or MIDI of Pattern) in your project Logic will not change the BPM when you drag an Apple Loop in. In my custom default template for example I have a hidden track with a single empty MIDI region on it for this reason. My template looks visually 'empty' since the track is hidden and I don't have to deal with the BPM changing issue.
A real Logic expert with so many good ideas. I think Apple will listen to you. Perhaps not every suggestion will be dealt with in the next update, but … I‘m happy about the free guide to buses. Thanks a lot. I‘m sure it can help as I‘m still not very familiar with this topic. 💪🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
#0 A search engine for plugins! #1 Agree. I overcome this by saving my sounds as patches, where the pan setting is embeded. #2 I agree too, even if I never use the notepad actualy #3 Would be great, I would use varispeed more often #4 Agree #5 Well, don't realy care # Bonus Good idea and my bonus #7: Relocating the strips in the mixer. We can do that in the environment window (remember, our good old environment window, now almost hidden?), why can't we do that in the mixer window?
My main wish for Logic improvement would be better collaboration tool… to allow multiple people to work from the same master project, and eliminate all of the importing and exporting involved with sharing files to multiple band members.
Very good point! I feel like collaboration between multiple studios is something that will be improved in all DAWs in the coming years. If Logic could work similar to how google docs does it would be incredible.
Great list! Add to this the ability to search for plugins when you open the plug in window. So annoying to have to navigate menu trees when you could easily search to find what you need.
A great idea. The score editor leaves a lot to be desired. I usually mess around with it for 5 minutes, get annoyed and switch back to the piano roll lol
Small quality of life change would also be to make it so when you press the “+” button on a channel in channel strip in automation view, it brings up the parameters that you have already automated
Just click on the small triangle on the bottom left in Automation view, all the parameters you’ve already automated will pop open. This feature has been around since forever
I like your suggestions! On the pan thing, one issue I have always been annoyed by is that when you have a stereo track that is set to Stereo Balance the tool tip still says "Pan" which is confusing. They should fix that while they are implementing your suggestion too!
Here are the things that i just wish logic could implement 1. Themes 2. Search for a plugin with typing just like ableton 3. A better piano roll just like Fl Studio c':
For me the biggy would be waveforms that reflect the actual state of the audio, i.e. so they show what all that compression, limiting, EQ etc etc has done to the audio. I really think that many people using Logic have no idea what's actually going on in front of them as they are just forever looking at the source waveforms! Another helpful addition would be input headroom traffic light (red yellow green) leds on the plugins to show how hard they are being driven, I've seen projects where either the input is way too hot into distortion or far too low to even get the plugins doing their thing! Oh and please rename the 'Secondary' ruler as Time! If you don't agree then the Marquee ruler should be called the Tertiary ruler ;o)
In Finder, you can use the find and replace tool to change "_1" with " ". Use this for batch edits after export. Yes, it's an extra step but this is how I do it. This way you don't have track numbers either.
If you just want to shift pitch the easiest option would be to select all the regions and use the transpose option in the region inspector. You may want to do only the tonal elements of your song and not the percussive elements. If you want to adjust pitch and tempo I would use varispeed. You can change from percent to pitch to dial in the right key. Hope that helps!
Turn On the Flex button on all the audio tracks and then select all regions and use the key commands to transpose up or down (Option Arrow Up or Down). That’s pretty much it.
I totally agree when mixing and exporting stems you definitely helped me with that I use to dislike that “_” for sure. They have to thst underlining thing away completely
Gave me the idea of adding to my already beautiful template that I use every time and saves tons of time, I'm gonna "save channel settings" so I can just recall all sends, and maybe plugs that I always use, so "new track", whatever it is, will be pasted with let's say "Chris' channel template" and BAM, you got all your usual settings and save time, I now Use the Remote on iPad and it;'s easier, but saving the channel settings so you can load them in, is my next move. Now, the audio vs Loop, I found that "add to untagged loops" works wonders, I can get the original tempo OR the audio file comply to the project tempo, doesn't work for everything, but it's pretty damn close.
1. Multiband processing. We want this. I don't want to switch to Ableton Live or Bitwig. Or just make the multipressor multi-output, would be a good start. 2. Modulate a plug-in parameter with and LFO or enveloppe IN AUDIO TRACKS. It's possible for MIDI tracks so it shouldn't be very hard to implement. Again, don't make me switch to Live or Bitwig. Or you could even make all tracks hybrid (Reaper / Bitwig). I got a bunch of other requests, but these would be the biggest steps logic could take and would make an enormous difference (especially for EDM producers but not only). I love Logic, its UI, its instruments and effects, its library. Been using it for almost 15 years. I just wish it was a bit more flexible. Logic 10.5 update was amazing though.
Track search like Cubase or the ability to print to audio file with a right click and it makes it instantly an alined new track and mute the old one would be nice.
To me it is absurd that whenever I'm tracking, for example, a choir part with the same singer and I WANT every pass to become an audio recorded track for itself (let's assume the performer is well prepared and you really just need to do multiple times the same recording - hence a choir track): so basically i'm referring to the comp function but basically choosing not to comp but to have all recordings by themselves instead. This will eliminate moving everytime to a new track, record, create a new track.... there are many applicable situations when you need to double track something (triple, quadruple and so on)
Oh my god the Notes window. I mean, seems like the fix would be trivial, but if you use it, it's so annoying that you can't detach it and get a full project window for everything else. Thanks for expressing my frustration!
@@sangstersounds cos i am tired when we have more than 40tracks, it will becomes a lot of tedious scrolling up and down to find the tracks I needed! I hope it will happen in the near futurn!
Great video. Hope they add at least #,1 #2, and #4! I also hope they look at improving Mixer and Browser too. For example, FL Studio's Browser has become so much better now (not talking about cloud integration here). Cheers!
Clip gain with visual representation on the waveform (like in studio 1). I know they just recently added a gain tool, which is great, but this is a pro feature that top engineers need to prepare tracks for hitting the compressor properly.
There’s always been visual representation for Gain. If you lower or raise the gain, you can see the waveform change too. Also I would recommend using the key commands for Gain instead of the Gain tool. Much faster and more efficient in my opinion.
Good suggestions but I guess some trivial operations are deliberately left out to reduce program app size. With the Notepad one, one can open Notepad outside of Logic and paste the info in the detached document. This can be pasted back in the DAW if any changes were made. Would be great though if the Notepad of the DAW was detached 🤪.
#4 can’t you just go to advanced features and change import audio settings from adapt/ auto / keep? I think there’s a hot key to convert audio regions from blue to purple orange and there treated differently in flex
Thanks for sharing! You can change the project tempo settings in that way but this doesn't change that it auto recognizes loops. The issue I have is that we can't change that auto recognition.

I have been told that you cannot make a smooth fade like you can with audio because of the limited velocity steps of midi information. However, I have no knowledge of coding so I fully admit I am just repeating what I have been told and have no way to verify this claim completely.
Good Video! #5. I never noticed because I always use "increment" first to get my export in the same order as my arrange window. Good Eye! My own request: ability to save complex automation shapes and insert them with a key command (drum editing).
Here’s a workaround for automation shapes. Just create a MIDI region with your complex automation on it and drag it into the Loop Browser. It will be converted into an Apple Loop which retains the automation and you can drag them into any of your projects in the future.
@@drvoodoo3073 that is interesting!, but I need the automation shapes when I am editiing audio. My current workaround is faster, which is I set up my automation shapes on an empty audio track and copy/paste. Ideally , I would like to "paste selected automation at playhead" with a key command.
@@thaddeuscorea MIDI regions and the new Pattern regions (which can store automation data as well) work on audio tracks for automation too! Assign the parameters you want to use and BAM. Since these are MIDI/Pattern regions, you can use select them and use the "Move Region/Event to Playhead Position" key command to quickly move them to wherever the playhead is.
I'll say it again for those who fail to understand. I mix clients' music on different rigs, in different locations, so not having a plugin search function is horrible. I knooowww... Purchase plugsearch right? Wrong. Am I to purchase plugsearch for all my clients who uses Logic? Instead of trying to convince me of workarounds, how bout letting the developers know how important a search function is. Anyone who takes my observation personally is nuts.... unless you work for Apple. Lol.
Using the actual bus name in the sidechain menu, so annoying that it doesn't just use the name you gave the bus channel eg "DRUMS", so you have to either go manually check the bus number if you want to use it for sidechain, or you have to look for familiar track names under the bus numbers. I gave that bus a name so I could find it easily, why would they not include it next to the number? if I have 8 bus channels, what am i just supposed to guess what number my drum bus is by order of creation? so annoying
Well Reaper is able to add Fades to Midi items. It just adjusts Velocity there, If his is not how you'd want ot to work that may be But it is similar 😅
@@sangstersoundsIf you want to take a look at it, though I have to warn you, it can be a little beast... But my version now looks like Logic and has the same capabilities, but my workflow. Biggest downside in comparison is the lack of Instruments and the UI, which both can be changed though.
He he. I've been a Logic user for 30 years or so and I've always hated Logic but I'm also too lazy to change. :/ Here's some changes I would love to see. 1. Why the freekin tooltip in the pianoroll window, seriously, why? 2. The space between the main arrange window and the loop marker is too small, I always click on the loop marker by mistake when double clicking to start a song at a certain point. 3. Why is there no EQ for individual sounds in the sampler, it's otherwise really great? 4. Why does the files automatically open when adding audio files in the audio list window? 5. I wish there could be a sort of a "rubberband" function that grip holds audio files together, I don't want to join them? So much easier to move many channels of chopped up files that way. Yes you could make a folder but it's not as good. 6. Why not some kind of "preset function" for channels and files where you can add a bunch of files in a certain order or way, which you then could drag-drop to place the main arrange window for chorus nr 2, 3 for example? 7. A better way to align let's say two different vocal takes, like the software Vocal align, or actually just like in Cubase. 8. The possibility to disable the loop function completely (in the settings) 9. An EQ where the sound is resampled, for example, if you want to remove a hihat from a kick drum sound. Good results from editing the audio with the pen are rare. 10. The interface for the ES1 and especially ES2 is absolutely horrible. I actually really like the synths otherwise. What I really should do is to buy Cubase, I wanna come home.
Dragging audio files onto the timelien should create a new track inside of the folder where you drop it. I absolutely loathe having to drag it up from the bottom. Same goes for creating new tracks without duplicating another track - when I create a new track inside of a trackstack, it creates it outside of the track stack! So annoying
NO plugin searching!!NO Macros!!! Bad Midi editor!!! Rudimentary mixer!! Automation editing bad!! Browser is a joke!! Latency bug over busses/sum bus!! NO Control Room!! Former Logic hardcore user here, now on Cubase 12/13 and finally very happy, I must say... higly recommend.
LPX is a great daw to use, but the problem is that they don't have a big community, and that plays a big part in making things better, for example by them not adding plug in search, stems search, dragging vsts or fx plug-inss or updating their piano roll, this list gos on but other than that i love the daw, its just their biggest downfall is they're slow when it comes to updates versus other daws have much faster updates. Apple gotta get it together, by them moving slow, it makes people move away from LPX and go to other daws.
I agree. Although I do think the online Logic Pro community is growing right now. The problem I think lies with Apple's priorities. With the majority of their business coming from the iPhone I just don't think they prioritize updating Logic Pro. Other DAW manufacturers have an advantage in that the DAW is their main business so they can focus on it entirely.
@sangstersounds I see what you're saying, but at the same time, they need to hired more people as far as daws updates. If logic had major updates like the other daws, I'll be the number one daw as far as sales, and not only that, more people would have switched to logic, but at the end of the day apple gotta get it together, something gotta give, other than that logic is getting better on the updates even though they're slow but hopefully they realize it one day
Varispeed automation is my number 1 request please please please. Also not mentioned here would be an FX rack like Ableton has. This way you can save fx patches and load them onto tracks, as opposed to having to save an entire channel strip
@@drvoodoo3073 Well, unless there's a shortcut or "hack" I find that I have to enlarge the track view. It would be nice to be able to highlight a section and be able to raise and lower Volume et al that way. There's too many steps in the process.. The sustain pedal editor should be permanently at the bottom of the midi editor and snap to 100% on or off. Editing sustain should be extremely simple and it’s so frustrating in Logic
Totally agree! This is way to complex for something that should be super simple. I usually end up just recording my sustain pedal on its own instead of writing the automation.

I want to be able to rearrange tracks in the mix window! This drives me insane! I should be able to hold down command option or shift and be able to move a track around…
This should have been on this list! I couldn't agree more! Definitely a top 5 missing feature!!
@@sangstersounds I was waiting for you to say it baby!
Hell yeah baby! This has been the #1 issue for me since purchasing Logic back in the 1850’s. If I can move/switch/rearrange the channels in the recording/listening window, why not in the mixer. How stupid are Logic’s genius
developers.
Spectral panning: pan only above a certain frequency, to keep the lower bass frequencies mono but can pan the frequencies above a chosen threshold
With Direction mixer you activate “Split” and a select your cutoff frequency where everything under will be summed to mono. Everything over the cutoff point can be panned as well as adjusted for stereo width percentage. Hope this helps!
@@kyaal thanks, I did not know this is possible in Logic. I will try to find this feature!
That is a great workaround! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks! Great idea! I have used that feature in other DAWs as well and its a helpful one
Not being able to name busses on a per project basis drives me nuts
This seems to be a common one! Thanks for sharing!
That is a great idea, I have never thought about that before!
This would be a game changer for me.
Thanks so much! I appreciate your support! I hope you find the guide helpful
being able to search plugins would be a start, having to go through menus to open a plugin is INSANE in 2024
Yup! Lots of people feel this way. Seems like a no brainer add for the next update!
#0 A search engine for plugins!
#1 Agree. I overcome this by saving my sounds as patches, where the pan setting is embeded.
#2 I agree too, even if I never use the notepad actualy
#3 Would be great, I would use varispeed more often
#4 Agree
#5 Well, don't realy care
# Bonus Good idea
and my bonus #7: Relocating the strips in the mixer. We can do that in the environment window (remember, our good old environment window, now almost hidden?), why can't we do that in the mixer window?
All great points! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea! Lots of people have mentioned this and I totally forgot about it when making this list. Thanks for sharing!
1. Dynamic EQ with side chain per band.
2. A multi band compressor with more bands and side chain.
3. Clipper only plugin
4. Saturation plug-in.
All great suggestions!
Great ideas! I would add improving the score editor to be on a par with that in Cubase or Studio One (both have fairly recently made great strides).
A great idea. The score editor leaves a lot to be desired. I usually mess around with it for 5 minutes, get annoyed and switch back to the piano roll lol
All excellent ideas but “automation alternatives” is 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much! That is my dream new feature for Logic!
Small quality of life change would also be to make it so when you press the “+” button on a channel in channel strip in automation view, it brings up the parameters that you have already automated
Another great idea!
I like that one too
Just click on the small triangle on the bottom left in Automation view, all the parameters you’ve already automated will pop open. This feature has been around since forever
I like your suggestions! On the pan thing, one issue I have always been annoyed by is that when you have a stereo track that is set to Stereo Balance the tool tip still says "Pan" which is confusing. They should fix that while they are implementing your suggestion too!
Agreed! Thanks for checking out the video!
For Logic to find the Key of any sample
GREAT CALL!
Logic actually does that but it should be added more easily as an metering plug-in for example
Here are the things that i just wish logic could implement
1. Themes
2. Search for a plugin with typing just like ableton
3. A better piano roll just like Fl Studio c':
Great ideas! Thanks!
Automation comping would be dope. Also, sometimes I’d like to save a channel strip setting and use that as a bus setting but can’t.
Great point about the channel strip settings on buses! I want that too
pretty nice "wish list"! well thought-out... great graphic examples too! 😉👍
Thanks so much!
In Finder, you can use the find and replace tool to change "_1" with " ". Use this for batch edits after export. Yes, it's an extra step but this is how I do it. This way you don't have track numbers either.
Great workaround! Sometimes I use the app namechanger to get rid of it.
Why can't Logic do midi routing?
Most other DAWs can.
You can sort of do it in the environment but its a real pain. Definitely could be easier like it is in other daws!
Please let me know how to transpose or key sift change the total project after recording.
Hah you are so right! A couple these have had me scratching my head for sure!
You and me both pal!
I totally agree when mixing and exporting stems you definitely helped me with that I use to dislike that “_” for sure. They have to thst underlining thing away completely
Glad to help!
I’d like for Fades to be visualised on the waveform. Lots of other DAWs have this feature.
Great idea!
Great ideas! Thanks!
Tap tempo button would be great. I know you can assign a key command for this but still.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing
Very insightful. You just proposed answers for questions I didn’t even know I had. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Plug search combined with a stream deck. One button push and any of my main plugins are pulled up without second thought
Searching Plugins!
Great point!
Track search like Cubase or the ability to print to audio file with a right click and it makes it instantly an alined new track and mute the old one would be nice.
Track search is a good idea! You can bounce tracks to new audio files in that manner in the right click menu, but not the whole project.
@@sangstersounds I mean where it makes a new track - same name and then mutes the midi or ampsim or wherever it came from
@@stephenkain6603 yeah if you right click and choose bounce in place, then in the bounce window choose mute source track it will do that
@@sangstersounds well then I need to do that…
To me it is absurd that whenever I'm tracking, for example, a choir part with the same singer and I WANT every pass to become an audio recorded track for itself (let's assume the performer is well prepared and you really just need to do multiple times the same recording - hence a choir track): so basically i'm referring to the comp function but basically choosing not to comp but to have all recordings by themselves instead. This will eliminate moving everytime to a new track, record, create a new track.... there are many applicable situations when you need to double track something (triple, quadruple and so on)
This might help you out... go to the record menu, then overlapping audio regions and change it to 'create new track'
Oh my god the Notes window. I mean, seems like the fix would be trivial, but if you use it, it's so annoying that you can't detach it and get a full project window for everything else. Thanks for expressing my frustration!
Yes!! I'm glad you understand
Split view in arrangement windows! Split it like word processing software! So we don't have to scroll up and down anymore!
Great idea! I've never thought of that before
@@sangstersounds cos i am tired when we have more than 40tracks, it will becomes a lot of tedious scrolling up and down to find the tracks I needed! I hope it will happen in the near futurn!
Logic pro x is really need to update piano roll.
Like skill highlights, show key notes, midi transform.
I miss the feature to replace samples just by drag and drop, like you can do in fl studio and studio 1
Good idea! Never thought of that!
Great video. Hope they add at least #,1 #2, and #4! I also hope they look at improving Mixer and Browser too. For example, FL Studio's Browser has become so much better now (not talking about cloud integration here). Cheers!
Thanks!
It changes after the fact, not as you change it, and its not as precise as you need it to be. @@drvoodoo3073
Yeah thats a good point!
How about a nondestructive and easier way to normalize multiple audio regions?
Normalizing isn't a big part of my workflow but I can see how this would be helpful!
I agree 100% with all of these changes. I would take any of them over Mastering Assistent!
Thanks!
@@sangstersounds I gotcha, if that is highlightable problem along with the no problem word search logics doing pretty dang well! < people bugging about that have lost the mark and there marbles. at least we have decent workarounds for both!

I'm on 10.8.1 and still can't get it to work for some reason. Perhaps its a bug on my system. Glad it works for you!
We definitely need some to edit the actual waveform in the sampler I wanna make trap drill beats and all that but we can’t boost it shorten it and something to slide sound a better and easier way if Ben waiting for years and I tried so many daws but u can’t get out from logic so sad that they take so long to

I would love if Logic Pro could intergrate with some other apps like Musescore for example
Totally agree with this!
Great points and explanations!!

They just need to Fix the Browser. Browsing third party wav loops and sounds sucks
I agree. I always just use Finder instead.
Why does it suck
How is fades on MIDI regions a technology issue? It shouldn't be difficult to code this
I have been told that you cannot make a smooth fade like you can with audio because of the limited velocity steps of midi information.
Thanks! That is a great idea. A way to have automations presets would be awesome

How does logic doesn't have a "Searching for plugins" feature ?
For real!
Great vid, and as a long time logic pro user I didn't even know about varispeed - how embarassing!
Thanks! Its ok! I am still learning new things about Logic all the time
Dynamic EQ
Oh nailed it!! I definitely should have added this to the list!
Lol.
The n1 thing I love about protools
Using the actual bus name in the sidechain menu, so annoying that it doesn't just use the name you gave the bus channel eg "DRUMS", so you have to either go manually check the bus number if you want to use it for sidechain, or you have to look for familiar track names under the bus numbers. I gave that bus a name so I could find it easily, why would they not include it next to the number? if I have 8 bus channels, what am i just supposed to guess what number my drum bus is by order of creation? so annoying
You can save a channel as default with your settings
I've tried this many times to solve the stereo pan issue, but for me the pan setting never sticks, I'm not sure why
i agree. great features that are missing
Thanks!
For me it’s definitely that you can’t go trough samples while playback, like you can in FL…
Yeah thats a good call, and one I never realized
Well Reaper is able to add Fades to Midi items.
It just adjusts Velocity there,

the worst one is not being able to view overlapping MIDI regions on separate lanes
Great call!
8. The possibility to disable the loop function completely (in the settings)
Thanks for sharing! All great ideas!
Dragging audio files onto the timelien should create a new track inside of the folder where you drop it. I absolutely loathe having to drag it up from the bottom. Same goes for creating new tracks without duplicating another track - when I create a new track inside of a trackstack, it creates it outside of the track stack! So annoying

Thanks for sharing! I'm glad you found a DAW that works well for you
LPX is a great daw to use, but the problem is that they don't have a big community, and that plays a big part in making things better, for example by them not adding plug in search, stems search, dragging vsts or fx plug-inss or updating their piano roll, this list gos on but other than that i love the daw, its just their biggest downfall is they're slow when it comes to updates versus other daws have much faster updates.
If logic had major updates like the other daws, I'll be the number one daw as far as sales, and not only that, more people would have switched to logic, but at the end of the day apple gotta get it together, something gotta give, other than that logic is getting better on the updates even though they're slow but hopefully they realize it one day
Great beard my friend

Varispeed automation is my number 1 request please please please. Also not mentioned here would be an FX rack like Ableton has. This way you can save fx patches and load them onto tracks, as opposed to having to save an entire channel strip

Thats a cool idea! Never thought of that before
What’s “fiddly” about automation in Logic? I see this complaint a lot and I don’t get it
@@drvoodoo3073 Well, unless there's a shortcut or "hack" I find that I have to enlarge the track view. Let's say if I want to drop the volume on my GTR you have to place 4 points, pull down points 2 and 4 and try to get them even while trying to get it to stop jumping, land exactly where you need it (you want 3.4 vol decrease, but you can only get 3.3 or 3.5, as 3.4 has ceased to exist) and do it all without having to enlarge the track view. It would be nice to be able to highlight a section and be able to raise and lower Volume et al that way. There's too many steps in the process..
Imagine being able to type in values like you can with the gain utility plug in or the track editor.. Why can't that be done with automation?

The sustain pedal editor should be permanently at the bottom of the midi editor and snap to 100% on or off. Editing sustain should be extremely simple and it’s so frustrating in Logic
