Honestly, I think that's better than the "3 shakes and pop out". I get the idea of calculating multiple times being equivalent to the shakes, but it really would be better if the ball missed/shook once before breaking out, or shook three times and was successful. None of the shaking twice or thrice. Also... I say that, but now I actually can't tell if you were being sarcastic or not.
@@NicolasClark7732 no I wasn't. It's actually really nice when you know that you've got the pokemon. Gen 1 catching feels very rewarding for some reason if I'm being honest.
Poke-balls in Gen 1 are actually perfect for speed capturing Gen 1 Legendaries. You get two types of Capture Moments: You Missed or Captured. You don’t have to deal with the Broke Free or It’s Close. Just Miss or Capture.
About the Mew Glitch: someone actually developed a way to make that work. And by that, I mean they basically looked through the raw data of the game, figured out what actions to take to make the string for "encounter Mew", and performed said actions successfully.
An American girl is replying to a Korean guy who is watching an English guy who is reacting to a French guy explaining a Japanese game. Awesome. (I can delete this comment if you want or anything)
In fairness to Beldum’s catch rate, it was introduced in a generation where you only get one and it’s a gift from the Champion. They made it with the mindset that you’re never going to be in a position where catching this thing is even an option.
Would really recommend checking out the Gen 2 mechanics video that they did before this video as... while this shows how weird the catch rate system is in Gen 2... I was honestly beyond shocked at some of the things I saw for that video lol

I can verify the information provided in this video is accurate. I have been playing Pokemon Red via emulator. Never was able to beat the game as a kid and i beat it for the first time near 20 years later. I also completed the Pokedex for the first time and I can verify getting a low catch rate legendary to half health, putting it to sleep, then lobbing great balls is a good strategy to catching pokemon. Caught Zapdos in one great ball, caught Moltres in 5 and caught Articuno in 10. Mewtwo I caught with the master ball. Funnily enough Articuno gave me the most trouble and it ko'd my hypno I was using for sleep and I had to use a revive to bring it back.
