A vice admiral leading a country with no navy says something about how quick things changed politically at this time.

Politically speaking, France had no right to push the treaty of Trianon, the UK and the US denied to agree to the treaty as it was disastrous for Hungary and its' people. In the end, the victors and their selfish desires win over reason and 2/3's of Hungary for taken away and split among the nations etc. etc. An extremely criminal treaty, one which should never have been allowed to be put into action.

@@Nr31HungarianRegiment Suffice to say, it made Hungary a tad salty.
But to be honest it should not have been entirely unexpected, the Hungarian Nobility had been marginalising around its ethnic minority's and neighbouring nations for decades before the First World War, by 1918 they had been decisively beaten. The Hungarians did not disarm in 1918 or sign a treaty and launched attacks under their government against the eastern entante, it was entirely predictable that it would be a defeat for Hungary and you can hardly fault France for not attacking its allies to stop the fighting, particularly with the threat of the Soviet Union nearby. While some of the Wilsonian parts of the treaty were clearly flawed after the fiasco of 1919 a punitive treaty was not exactly shocking, it is unlikely that the western entente could have removed the eastern entente from the occupied territories even if they wanted to. And even then Hungary attempted to dodge the treaty restrictions on every single category, I sometimes wonder if half the energy spent building secret arms factories and hidden air forces had gone towards the economy instead they may have actually manage to economically outpace all their neighbours.

They did have a navy, though it was a river fleet

@@Lancasterlaw1175what you mean that we were not disarming??? After the Aster revolution the new government (under Mihály Károlyi) started to disarm the whole army while there are still hundreds of thousands of hungarian men were in arms and were in somewhat able to take up the fight against the serbo-croats, the czechs and slovaks and the romanian who where already almost at the river Tisza. Only the the communist regime that couped the first republic were started to reorganize the army and made significant successes against the czechs and slovaks. Then the french promised that if we give up the we just took then they will force the romanians to stop at the Tisza. We did our part of the agreement but the french not. After that it was a matter of time till the romaninans reach the gates of Budapest.

@kyle857 We did have a navy and Admiral Horthy successfully fought the Brits during World War 1. However after the War we were forbidden to retain a Navy which had to be donated to Croatia. A leading vice Admiral with Military and Administrative experience was not a poor choice in the 1920's, to become Regent.

That Lucian 2 assault gun looks every bit as badass as the Stug 3! That's the first I've ever seen any of these armored vehicles and that thing looks freakin' COOL!

Multiple aemoured car designs based o Strausslers work have been in continous service from before ww2 to this day, perhaps the most prominent being the French Eland series.
The man was a visionary beyond his time. It could even be argued that he pioneered the chief design elements of what would later become the MRAP.

It is hard to say that Czechoslovacs attacked Hungary. Slovakia, which was previously part of Hungary, was now declared as part of Czechoslovakia. Some countries agreed, but Hungary unsurprizingly didn't. I still would not call it aggression from CZE side.
