Since your comment he passed over a quarter century ago, but like many other of his era he was greatly appreciated in an era which won acceptance for being female impersonators/satirist. Sadly in the interim so many other legends have passed leaving us with so may (not all) drag acts which insult or flirt with audience members in the belief it's entertainment, few if any will achieve the legendary status of Charles Pierce and his contemporaries.
A pioneering original. He became his characters. He really has never been replaced. That happens with comic geniuses.

Charles pierce will be dead 20 years in May 2019 and yet he still continues to make us all laugh out loud, he was a true star.
