That really was a gorgeous house but it is also very sad looking at their forgotten memories! It's nice that people like you keep their memory alive. I never understand why family members aren't interested in preserving their history. ☹️
I can’t even stand how sad that such a grand home could be left to just rot away. All the antiques and original architecture would be worth a small fortune in total. Obviously not many people know about it or it would have been cleaned out and vandalized a long time ago. She must have been beautiful in her day. Horrible shame.
It happens, a couple owns a beautiful old house. Either they have no children or the children don't live near by and don't care at all about their parent's home or possessions. Or the kids simply can't afford to maintain the house or the taxes or there are no jobs for them in the area.
Depending on the state this house is in and others abandoned full of items, it is possible the last owner went into a nursing home and ended up with Medicaid to pay for their care. When that happens, these states have a Medicaid recoup clause and homesteads are taken by the state to recoup the funds. Now, the state is not interested in the house but the land it sits on. Many are never put on the market to be sold. It's one way of the state to take back ownership of the land.
I would LOVE to go through these old homes , I've always wanted to go in odd shaped houses to see how they were laid out and all the treasures they've left behind
It actually pains me to see this incredible place left to rot. What a truly remarkable piece of architecture and thank you for documenting it!!! I second the other person who said it’s worth reaching out to Laine at Our Restoration Nation to bring it to their attention. Check out some of the other beautiful true historic restorations they’ve done. Again great video!
I loved hearing the old train pass through. Moments like that shouldn’t be wasted. Think of the time when that home was in its prime and the old Air Force pilot and his lovely wife in the home of their dreams, just relaxing and to hear that old train come through town was a symbol of a time that America was thriving and full of people that were proud if their heritage. That home is a prime example of what our parents and grandparents were all about. Family was a sacred thing. Freedom was accomplished becsgse if that young msn you see in those pictures risking his life, spending months at a time away from his beautiful wife that he no doubt missed dearly. I’m sure those old letters from him to her were sone of her prized possessions. I can only imagine the love those two had for one another. Very good video buddy. The best I have seen yet. It saddens me to think that old hoise is falling to shambles. I’m sure the old couple would be proud to see it preserved. Simply amazing.
Children born after the boomer age don't want their parents old things. Few seem to even care about their heritage and family history. A few more generations and people will have no sense of what their forefathers endured to settle this land. Losing a lot of history.
I believe this is maybe the most beautifully built and laid out plan of a house Ive ever seen. I just imagine it clean and decorated with those beds and different old pieces ,I love it,and it would be my dream house. I was born and raised in the South.

Thank you. Brought back memories of my parents who wrote love letters when my father was in WWII. I, their daughter, am now 74 years old. The fact their letters and WWII items are still in the house indicates that the last resident was probably their son who left everything as his parents had it. I get the feeling he had no children. It is possible that any relatives may have died without surviving children. Very sad that no one to retrieve these personal items before the house falls in.

Big banks the game is called carrom. I'm in my 30s and remember playing with my grandfather growing up who was in his 80s when he passed. Thanks for the memories!
Heart breaking to see such a beautiful home falling apart. Equally saddening to see all of their things. Letters. Pictures. I bet he brought a lot of things home from other countries seeing he was military. Which brings me to wondering where his medals are. I pray family has them and continue to honor him. He definitely was reloading the ammo. I sold those along with the tool (wink) they go with. It was also common back then for them to reload their own as it was cheaper. I live here in the south and would love to know more about this home and the couple that lived here.
I found this video on Facebook first and had to watch the full thing. This is incredible! I always felt I should have lived in the old times in a place like this! Thank you so much for sharing!!
It just breaks my heart to see homes left like that. Usually you see signs of like an elderly grandma or grandpa who lived out their days there. But this home looks like an entire family just went poof 😢 I hope family clears those beautiful memories out before it’s to late.
The room with the stuffed turkey was really creepy. But the one dresser had baby shoes that were bronzed. Growing up being cared for by older people they believed in saving their childrens shoes by bronzing them. They also make them into bookends. Those old hats were awesome. There are people that collect old hats. And they were in such good shape. The woodwork is stunning work.
I'm with you on loving Victorian houses!!! I also love houses that have nooks and crannies. I'm definitely in the minority these days, cause I don't like open concept houses at all! Thanks for showing us this gem of a house! Also love the fretwork! You're right BB, you don't see tons of it.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! This is such a sad, sad story 😢😞😰 All of the gorgeous feature’s in the magnificent home!!! All of the wooden furniture, wooden floors, doors, door casings, window, window casings, door transoms, banister, ceiling wooden decor…medal hardware on the doors, all sooo very beautiful!!! All sooo worth saving 👍🙏❤️All of the clothes, household items… if not wanted by family members, could have been donated!!! Someone would have loved to receive & utilize those beautiful items!!! Donate, to museums, libraries, homeless shelter’s, if no longer useful to you!!! Sad that the pictures, letters & personal belongings aren’t saved!!! Those items, once lost, can never be enjoyed again 😞😢😰 Memorabilia lost forever 😞😢😰 I would love to see, someone with money to afford to buy this place, save & restore this property!!! Sooo worth saving 👍🙏❤️ Thank you Bankz for sharing this wonderful story with us!!! I truly loved it ❤️❤️❤️
Such a Magnificent and beautiful old victorian house. Craftsmen during this time really took alot of pride in their work and you can bet that everything was cut and carved by hand. They didn't have power tools back then. It's so sad that it is left to decay. And I don't get it that people just leave the whole kit and kaboodle without taking valuables or selling what's left if they don't want it. Hope she gets saved!
Hi 😁 So this is a house that needs to live again! Your attention to all the things that brought characters to life. But no actors needed, just you and Explomo and the quiet.and hearing the old train blowing in the background.Sweet reminders of a softer time, The baseballs,Board battleship game, The hats of all kinds (antique)The real work involved in building the place, and the love letters of long ago. The exquisite furniture, beautifully designed. So glad you checked on this one 👌👍💖😁💥🥂
Yes, I agree. I saw many Hummel figurines which are worth hundreds of dollars individually. Actually, I am more sadden by the photos, letters and memories left behind.
OMG!!!! IT IS MAGNIFICENT!!! I wish I could buy it with all of the furniture. I would restore everything! And keep it restored. I believe houses have souls and this one should be treated as a Goddess ❤
All these items need to be salvaged. It would be a catastrophe not to save them. And what has happened to the family?? It is a travesty to see all these wonderful things from the past just left to decay. And a building built so beautifully with such wonderful craft work as well. Thanks for video.
Awww, I love this house. It looks so sad on the outside, but the inside speaks volume’s. What makes people just leave their belongings behind? Death maybe? Is there no family that wants to take on the responsibility of dealing with another’s belongings. You would think that if there were family that they would want things like family photo’s or a figurine. Heck, let me get to the old vintage Christmas stuff. There has to be tons in a house that size. Those floral rug’s all over that house have to be worth a pretty penny. What a shame that everything is just sitting there. Thanks for sharing another beautiful house.
Great video! Love the way you take your time, talk to us & show us everything. Feel like I am there with you. I can't believe this beautiful house has not been vandalized.
Oh my God this house is giving me the chills in a good way! My grandma had a Victorian house and this is somewhat similar this house may be bigger but Uber similar
Haven’t even gotten out the foyer yet and already those rugs, that clock, all things my grandparents had and my family got rid of. So happy to see your appreciation for the history of houses and objects and those who inhabited them. 🙏💗
I love how Give us a history and also really cool with the title to capture peoples interest from stranger things so they can appreciate this beautiful piece of history and imagine themselves as the characters from stranger things going through the house!!
What a wonderful house. I wish it was closer to me. I'd find the money to get it and fix it. Thank you for the tour. You mentioned Explomo but never showed Maurano. I hope he's doing better and closer to getting to go home. Have a great weekend.
I so wish people wouldn't trash these places! I'm so glad you don't subscribe to that behavior. Do we know what happened to the owners? I always love to know that part of its available. Such a beautiful . So much character! ❤ Really enjoyed this tour. Thank you.
Definitely didn't expect that place to be so well off on the inside based off the outside but the elements are getting in as nature always reclaims what's been taken from it...
So many of the original features were in such amazing shape it would be heartbreaking 💔 for a treasure like this to completely deteriorate great video 👍🏻
The purpose of transom windows was to allow air flow. As fireplaces are for heating the house, transoms were for cooling. Heat rises and if it has nowhere to go, it comes back down, making sleeping in the summer miserable. So people would open their windows at night and allow whatever cool air came in to pass over them and out of the room via the transom window, making the room cooler and more pleasant to sleep.
How can anyone afford to walk away from this beautiful house ….let alone all these fantastic items? It’s ashame that this house is left to eventually rot away. So sad.🙁
OMG that house is so Beautiful. All of that woodwork, The furniture .It had to be a show place back when it was built. I wish you could find out more about it. It makes you wonder why they just left and didn't take at least the pictures. love it !!
A wonderful job of filming this great place. I never would have thought when I saw it 30 years ago that I would actually be in it and the family would be gone. Even then it did not have paint.
I don't understand why the family didn't go back for their possessions. I mean there's tons of family photos and stuff. You'd think the children or someone would want that stuff.
I have watched tons of your videos and love all of them. Love the verse on each one :) But I am 65 years old and a Victorian lover!!! This is my favorite one of all. I hate to see something that beautiful fall apart. Just gorgeous! Take care! Thanks for the videos...God richly bless you and all who are with you!
That is such beautiful home I wish I could have it I would definitely take good care of it it is beautiful and the people that owned it they look like they were beautiful people too thank you very much for showing us this home it's something that I've always wanted something like that thank you again
This is one of my favorite house's, It's so beautiful and everything is vintage I'd really hate to see this house just rot away all those antiques even the clothes ect. The towns people should see if there is any family members that are alive and I guess can get the house. Even just to get the photos.. if there is no family. Then the town should have an auction to buy the house . It's worth saving. I love these homes you can sell the antiques to help with the costs of fixing the house. I wish I could buy it . Thank you very much for sharing this.
The game with the 4 pockets was Karrom or Carrom I think. My mum had a board. You play with your fingers and flick a thick round disk/counter towards other round counters from your side of the board into one of the pockets. Kinda like finger pool. Great for siblings lol. Thank you for sharing as always .
Someone needs to stop that water leak, even if it's a temporary fix! Things are already going to decay and it's only gonna accelerate! Sad too see. 🥺 The screened in 2nd floor porch is my absolute favorite place in the house. Sit out there in the evenin and have a cold one 25:42. In love with the turkey too! 🤠 😉 26:11 Two great explores in a row Big Banks! Thanks! 👍👍👍👍👍 PS I belive the transom window rod is supposed to slide up and down and not turn. 27:27
I reported it to the city. I will probably be in that area sometime soon and we will drive by and check and see if the door has been fixed. If not, I will call the city again. I think they must mow the yard.
This is Bonkers how can anyone let this place sit and rot. Did they not have kids im devastated this place is just going to fall into disrepair if anyone is watching this video and you know these people have relations please get in contact with them dont let this property fall victim to its former self where we all wished it could of been saved i live in the uk and buildings like this home would of took over by the English Heritage. If i lived in that area i think i would find a way to purchase this house its to good to let go. Great video x
If I was about 40 years younger, that house would be loved. OMG, that's my favorite type of home. I hope, like you, someone comes and rescues it before it caves in totally.
I literally could not get over the gorgeous beautiful baby blue beautiful girls room I was dying over such a beautiful elaborate vintage girly things my mother appreciate it so much too because her home looks very much like this right now she has a whole room decorated with vintage Darling keepsakes from the past!! Literally this looks like my moms blue room that is our guestroom. It is so precious to imagine a teenage girl of Last century getting ready for a date in this precious room
A wonderful sad visit to a fabulous home! Love Victorians! Praying it an be saved! A good job for Kevin and Lanie, Who restore falling down old homes! Thanks, Big Banks, love your videos💖
Whatever happened to this family that they could abandon such a beautiful family home? It would be interesting to hear the history of these people who lived here.
From my experience with the elderly and also elderly relatives many people may not have had children or passed away suddenly and actually don’t have anyone to leave things to may have been in a nursing home or hospitalized for a long time and didn’t have an estate plan and because there’s a lot of illegal stuff involved leaving behind properties and belongings to be assumed by the next generation or friends or relatives sometimes there just isn’t anybody assigned to it. My parents have a dear friend who is elderly luckily he has my parents he never married never had kids was hospitalized for six months fortunately my parents took care of his estate even his bills without them if he passed his home literally would’ve went to no one And his home would’ve become one of these places- it is that easy unfortunately.
Absolutely stunning home. Yes, he packed his own bullets. Please keep us updated on this house. It's a sin that nobody has come to claim everything in there. There's some very valuable things in this house. ❤❤
Blown away. This is amazing and sad at same time. Again I’m a 70’s baby and love history. Thank you for the videos. I’m 51 and feel a 150 now lol. I know what everything is. Yes he made his own bullets.
We bought a 1905 Queen Anne Victorian 3 years ago and are restoring it. This makes my heart hurt. The beautiful home, the antiques, but most of all the photos and the love letters. So sad 😞
Dude, you have to show addicts and you have to show basements. Those are awesome houses and really am. Interested in attics and basements as well as the rest of the house. Please, and thank you.
You got me with the name of this video, I thought maybe they used the exterior for filming the most recent season! Looks so much nicer on the inside and really everything wrong with the outside looks cosmetic. Hopefully it hasn't deteriorated too much more since you were there and someone comes along and fixes it up if they haven't yet. Great video.
I just want to rescue this home! This house reminds me the old 1962 James Stewart and Maureen O'Hara movie, Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation. Fantastic find! I hope someone will rescue this home before it's too late.
It almost looks like somebody has recreated this place to match what it should of looked like. Then maybe had it as a bed n breakfast or something. There is definitely modern mixed in with the old. Wat an amazing place. Where did they go? Such love put into recreating this place then poof ...gone...wow....amazing....great find....
This is simply a large home in South Carolina. Dad died in 2006. Property transferred to daughter, who lived there until her 2022 death. Nothing mysterious. Just yet another rural home that is unlikely to be economically feasible to fix up, full of "stuff" that the rest of the family may not value.
Great job of filming such a wonderful place !!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗😙 I'd love to be able to buy the house and contents and a decent amount of land around it and tottally fix it up like brand new BUT keep it TRUE to how it was built, then add on another section of bed/bath rooms, and such, have a full big porch top and bottom. Then build another building in the same style, to be used as a museum to show case the belongings, and what have you BUT of course be VERY respectfull of past family (s) to not invaide their privacy of course. It would showcase the history of the house and property. Fix up the property with gardens, trees, real veg. & medicine plants gardens, walking pathways, outside seating, big garages, place to park. Then use the property to live at, have a bed and breakfast, maybe a place folks could have weddings and stay at a wedding /full cottage in a pretty & private place on the property 💎I would also see about getting the place listed as a Historical land mark.💎 I'd like to have enough land with it to have and old fashioned carrage house/working barn or some horses, chickens, cows. Folks could have some nice carriage rides. BIG IMPORTANT THING that I'd like to make SURE OF is hopefully have a working plan that the house/grounds would be SAFE and well maintained after I'm gone, till then it would be great to share it with as many people as possible AND NOT CHARGE CRAZY HIGH RATES TO GET TO STAY THERE FOR A TIME. Well yeah, it's just a dream for now but the house deserves to go on. Folks who put so much work into building it so long ago and those past who've lived therr, now long dead, I think they'd be happy to see the above 'dream' come true. How's that dream sound?
Thanks for the the video tour of this Victorian-era mansion somewhere in the South. Many of these abandoned houses are, like museums, so old-fashioned and yet it's so sad to see them deteriorating over time. And a lot of stuff left behind, perhaps the last owner was the son of the couple who lived there. Shame that their relatives didn't want this well-built house. Maybe someday a person who can afford it will fix it up for his/her own use, who knows? 😔
That really was a gorgeous house but it is also very sad looking at their forgotten memories! It's nice that people like you keep their memory alive. I never understand why family members aren't interested in preserving their history. ☹️

I found this video on Facebook first and had to watch the full thing. This is incredible! I always felt I should have lived in the old times in a place like this! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Believe me, you wouldn't be happy...In those old days, young girls had to do housework and work outside in the fields
Excellent explore. Too bad the house couldn't be preserved as a time capsule museum. This may be my favorite. 👍🏻
Just so beautiful with only regular age on the house. All those antiques still there. This was a great video, thank you.
It just breaks my heart to see homes left like that. Usually you see signs of like an elderly grandma or grandpa who lived out their days there. But this home looks like an entire family just went poof 😢 I hope family clears those beautiful memories out before it’s to late.
It’s so sad to see that beautiful old home deteriorating!
I hate them to !! My house is 120 years old but it's nothing compared to that one.
Me too I don't like open concept either I love the pocket doors and separate rooms
Thank you for leaving these places untouched. There would be a lot of love in those walls ❤
Every house is my favorite, but I would definitely love to have this home. I wood and fireplace doors were absolutely gorgeous.
I see antiques everywhere in there. Lots of money just sitting there Dam what a shame😒
Not everyone has a family. Maybe they were the only ones left.
Loved the video! I could cry for all the antiques left behind 😢
So many of the original features were in such amazing shape it would be heartbreaking 💔 for a treasure like this to completely deteriorate great video 👍🏻
I literally gasped at how beautiful this house is! Thanks for sharing this beauty! ❤️
The woodwork is the Best I've seen in ur videos! Love watching!
An old house filled with memories abound. On every room every thing. Good times etc. Good video.
So sad.🙁
Accidents happens car or plane.
What a compete waste ..totally impressed on how preserved things are with the holes in the house ... Thanks for what u do Big Banks...💯💯💯💯
Thank you for joining along! This place was absolutely stunning all the way through!
I don't understand why the family didn't go back for their possessions. I mean there's tons of family photos and stuff. You'd think the children or someone would want that stuff.
aw, as always another excellent video!! Be careful on you trip to Oklahoma. amazing video !! 👍🏼👍🏼
♥️👋🏼
I have watched tons of your videos and love all of them. Love the verse on each one :) But I am 65 years old and a Victorian lover!!! This is my favorite one of all. I hate to see something that beautiful fall apart. Just gorgeous! Take care! Thanks for the videos...God richly bless you and all who are with you!
How sad. Loved hearing the train though. Such beautiful features. I was gutted with this one
That is such beautiful home I wish I could have it I would definitely take good care of it it is beautiful and the people that owned it they look like they were beautiful people too thank you very much for showing us this home it's something that I've always wanted something like that thank you again
Absolutely stunning property, it just kept on giving!!! Anyway, adore your videos! I always watch them before bed because they’re so relaxing!
The screened in 2nd floor porch is my absolute favorite place in the house. Sit out there in the evenin and have a cold one 25:42.
In love with the turkey too! 🤠
😉 26:11
Two great explores in a row Big Banks! Thanks!
👍👍👍👍👍
PS I belive the transom window rod is supposed to slide up and down and not turn. 27:27
Great video and can you report the door issue to someone?Maybe go back and tarp it?The state historical society should help save this beautiful house
I reported it to the city. I will probably be in that area sometime soon and we will drive by and check and see if the door has been fixed. If not, I will call the city again. I think they must mow the yard.
@@SRay-or3nc thanks!
Very cool tour. I love this house. The doorways are phenomenal. Yes he made bullets. Very common. The dude hunts. Nice tour 🐟
If I was about 40 years younger, that house would be loved. OMG, that's my favorite type of home. I hope, like you, someone comes and rescues it before it caves in totally.
So sad to see this beautiful mansion and things inside rotting away 😢
What a find!! It makes my mind go crazy trying to think of why they would leave family memorabilia🤔
This was amazing, but sad,. to many personal things left behind. I hope and pray that some one will claim it before it is to late. Great job.
This is one of my favorites so far. And I am like you, I rather have a house like this than a new one!
What a joy it would be to buy and restore a home like that!!
Such a shame it’s rotting away.
Whatever happened to this family that they could abandon such a beautiful family home? It would be interesting to hear the history of these people who lived here.
She is still beautiful but I would love to find out what happened to make them leave every thing behind and go.
They got old & died, as they aged things got cluttered, they needed crutches, maintenance got deferred. Very sad.

Absolutely stunning home. Yes, he packed his own bullets. Please keep us updated on this house. It's a sin that nobody has come to claim everything in there. There's some very valuable things in this house. ❤❤
I was not expecting that after seeing how bad the outside was! Just awesome!
So sad 😞
This house is absolutely gorgeous, that furniture needs to be saved!
Beautiful, Very Sad All Those Memories Are Just Left Behind !!!!
So sad that it all just sits there and rots. The furniture alone is so valuable both monetarily and visually.
And those family photos. I imagine some relatives still are out there, and would love to have those memories.
I'd love to be able to buy the house and contents and a decent amount of land around it and tottally fix it up like brand new BUT keep it TRUE to how it was built, then add on another section of bed/bath rooms, and such, have a full big porch top and bottom.
Then use the property to live at, have a bed and breakfast, maybe a place folks could have weddings and stay at a wedding /full cottage in a pretty & private place on the property
💎I would also see about getting the place listed as a Historical land mark.💎
I'd like to have enough land with it to have and old fashioned carrage house/working barn or some horses, chickens, cows.
Thank you. You did a great job showing us everything. I'm new to your channel. Glad I found it.
What a beautiful gem of a time capsule!! One of my favorites!
