    Auto Fanatic 100% has the BEST maintenance videos. Found this channel looking for a tutorial for interior rattle in my S550 and no other videos covered the exact solution I was looking for. Thanks for the great content!

    Love the channel. I'm planning on getting a gt350 as my next car and your videos are really informative and helpful to watch. Keep up the good work!

    Good video. Your explanation on this made me subscribe. Maybe you can answer my inquiry here? I have Ford Performance sway bars to install on a 2006 Mustang GT. These are made by Eibach for Ford. I have watched many installations that show the car lifted on a ramp and both the front and rear sway bars are installed and torqued to spec on the ramp. Some people say you need to put the tires back on and lower the car to the ground for final torquing to prevent preload of the bushings that lead to wear. However, the Ford instructions say make no mention of lowering the car to torque the front to final spec. I think that’s because it does not matter on the front as the sway bar end link is a ball joint design. The instructions do however clearly specify that the car must be lowered down on its wheels to load the suspension for the rear. I think this might be due to the fact that the ends of the sway bar in the rear mount to the shock with a bracket so this connection point is fixed as there is no ball joint connection here. In this case the links used on the sway bar are attached to the chassis. I’m not 100% sure but this is the only reason why I can see this unique instruction for the rear and I cannot find anybody who can explain the reasoning. Do you know? PS: some people even mention that having a person sit in the driver seat as you torque the rear on the ground is the best way to do it. Im not even sure if I will be able to torque it with my torque wrench due to accessibility so I’ll likely use blue Loctite and snugly tighten the connections. Thanks for your time!

    Great video, subscribed! Currently got a clunk on my rear (2017 GT). Shock already replaced, so end links will be next, and likely sway bar bushings as well.

    Great video! A Ford dealer replaced my front passg side magneride shock in my 16’ GT350 after going over an uneven/rough road patch at high speed. I now hear a clunking sound from that side of the suspension only when turning at slow speeds, like parking the car. What’s your best guess of the problem?

      honestly the front sway bar links are a very weak link and bend and wear easily i would start there

    Do I need alignment if I'm going to replace it with OEM parts?
    Planning to do this to a 2020 GT PP1. From what I looked, it's the same for part. The rubber inserts and lifting both tires at the same time trick is very helpful.
    Thanks for sharing.

    I was having only one side being lift up by a jack stand and was undo the sway bar end link nut and after I put it back I saw the the bolt kinda pointing down and I couldn't tighten the nut 100% to the edge. I took on a ride and I there was some sound right under my foot whenever I go over speed hump or any bouncing moment apply to the front wheel.

    Going to look into the rear cylinder block plate noise some of us get? Happens at 4K rpm when hot.

      Auto Fanatic, if you do the new part is covered entirely in a vinyl coating to change the resonance frequency. Need to drop the transmission or pull it back to put it on. I’m on my third try to get the dealer to do it, if they don’t it’s buyback time. Anyhow be glad you don’t have this issue.

  • @nickemangione

    Surprised that Ford would manufacture the end link like that. I would have guessed it would be beefier. Is this issue corrected on the later year GT350s?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      same link since 2014- present I bet even the new GT500 has the same part and that care is the heaviest Mustang ever made.

    Great info Auto-Fanatic - what are the mods you have done to your 350?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      wheels, lowering springs, interior custom stuff etc nothing too crazy the car is great pretty much as it comes.

    Do you feel that this part would have eventually warped over an extended period of time on smooth surfaces?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      its really how hard you drive the car if you load it up and do lots of twisties like i do on the weekends . pop a wheel off and check to see if your front links are arching, or if you have noise this can be the cause.

    Hello Sir :-) do you also know where i get the clicking noise from in the rear while deiving corners? (GT350)

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      could be coming from the internal parking brake assembly usually

    • @jarvisclark8195

      Auto Fanatic , thx for your reply. So you would say this is normal? It can be very loud, while driving mountain passes in corners.

  • @amac8487
    @amac8487 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow. I can’t believe how warped that OEM one looks. I would have never thought this. Doesn’t ford know this ahead of time that this would be an issue? I bet it’s like this on most performance cars and most have no idea....

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      almost any car driven on bad roads over time these fail you gotta see some FWD Import cars after a few years around here the joints completely pull out. the front end links on the Mustang bend easily and you would think they would have made a better unit for the Shelby, i bet even the new GT500 has the same links, this is typical cost cutting as the parts are cheap to replace they do not care.

    • @autofanaticcars

      waste of time to let a dealer tech touch this car, plus too risky for them to damage it. i rather do it myself plus dealers will say problem not found , waste your time and give you the car back, been there done that many times in the past
