I remember Magnus saying in an interview that many young opponents can't beat him because they're afraid to play for the win and so don't take chances. Anna so happy that you're gunning for the WIM and good luck tomorrow!
I remember a couple of days ago levy said Magnus found his equal... As you can guess the guy doesn't respect Magnus in the slightest
@@ecardozo7043😂
Thats one of the things I admire Vincent Keymer for (Young, strong german player) He plays aggressive against Magnus and if he thinks there is a chance to win he take it. No fear from Magnus. He knows he can beat him. He knows he can play chess.
You did good Anna
Hikaru said that's also why, in his opinion, Levy hasn't got his GM norm. At some point you need to go for it and be aggressive.
I have been watching Chess on TH-cam for 8 years now and this is easily one of the most enjoyable and wholesome series that I’ve watched so far.
I agree this is a stand out excellent series, for one the competition makes it suspenseful especially since we don’t know the outcome till the end, also the fun with the poker face is an added fun challenge to see at what point I can know the outcome, funny thing is that I’m always able to know the outcome but not right away, last game really had me confused until she asked and at that point I was 100% sure she won. Now this game I was leaning draw the whole time but wasn’t 100% sure till she was talking about pushing the pawn to win or take for draw and then I knew for sure a draw. Also the analisis is really good. I really hope she continues this format in the future.
@@davidjoseph7142 well said, my friend!
Absolutely! I love watching her tournaments.
I prefer thechessnerd's series if you haven't seen them I recommend them strongly
Here here, love watching enjoyable and wholesome 😊😊😊😊
This is a brilliant series of videos, Anna. Great insights into the games and the psychology. Good luck for the rest of the tournament!
Yes. The analysis/narration has been very useful. I've already started sharing links to individual games. Looking forward to the playlist 🙂
At this stage of your career you have every reason to trust your inner thoughts. The fact you could have won this game by trusting yourself, validates the notion you’re likely better than you think you are. You are a pleasure to watch and your bubbly outgoing personality is contagious!! Victory follows those who challenge the risks, 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Your smiling face, passion and enthusiasm is why I come here and to try to learn chess. I have only a rudimentary understanding of it but your attitude is magical!
Love how you share so much of your journey with us! The calculations, the stumbling blocks, the exciting feelings, the humbling realizations, such a pleasure to be along for the ride!
From "screwing the screw" to "twisting my brain" , the Annaism's are getting more legendary day by day . 😅
Annaism is a pretty good find too
This setentenses maybe are better in spanish o al menos a mí se me ocurren los símiles en español como darle otra vuelta de tuerca o exprimirse el cerebro xd
And "multi-faced." Ann at her finest.
But screwing the screw is a good expression!

I don't even play chess, but I've watched every one of these tournament updates! I have no idea half the time what Anna is talking about... but her enthusiasm is contagious. :)
What a nail-biter of a game. I would be a nervous wreck. Totally understand your playing for the draw near the end, especially if you were down on time. You played really well against a strong opponent! Good luck tomorrow.
Anna, you’ve already won at life by being the person you are. Not even close to a draw when it comes to your kindness, humility and poise. Thank you for being so authentic and being authentically good. ❤
Not to mention her shanenigans 😅
I loved the emotional roller coaster ride you took us on! Good Job Anna. You are amazing!
I love the clip of watching your parents walking side by side. So wholesome :)
Anna's positivity throughout is motivational.
Sorry? She has one problem. She has a lack of confidence and positivity. Crack that and she would be the greatest
Good luck tomorrow, Anna! You’re gonna crush it 👊🏻🏆
tomorrow in the video is today - she lost.
@@wolfyoy420 Oh :(
@@jessicarose1991 but as a team they won, so atleast something.

So exciting looking through this whole game with your passion and excitement. You rock and your video coverages are even better! You will get there!!!
I love how you made us go through this very special journey with you.
Its honestly an honor.
she and her family are so nice- how can we not root for her and really enjoy her videos with her thinking, her explanations, her emotions, her smiling face, her enthusiasm...?
Thank You so much for the joy and honesty you bring to this game (btw : please consider keeping the picture at 1:24 for your instagram)
You always make your videos so interesting. Thank you for uploading and keep going
The lesson from this game, Anna: "Trust the Force!" You are playing so well! Making us all proud!
Your ability to learn from both winning and loosing is an inspiration to all of us, wow
It was great to see in the stream how close you come to winning yesterday. But your time management once again got everyone close to having a heart attack :)
I LOVE watching these and when I wake up, I go to Twitch to see how it's going. ALL the games, including when you get hammered, are EXCELLENT. Please continue these competition games. Pia is amazing, your Dad is superb and your good vibes are just BRILLIANT.
Bravo Anna! Keep going!
I tend to think we should go with our intuition even if it's wrong. Our intuition can learn, but if we ignore it, it can't. Great job so far, and thank for documenting your incredible journey!
Good luck to you and pia. God bless you ladies. Love how well you both explain.
I think her smile is so contagious, it's impossible not to root for her success.
lol, Anna sees things so far ahead, its crazy. Around 10:23 I would have moved my pawn from f4 to f5, allowing my rook to proceed towards h4/h5 , allowing my queen to move to h7 for a check or check-mate but that is why she is a pro and I am watching TH-cam. I love watching her strategy
I love your enthusiasm Anna. There's no shame in drawing.
your nail-biting storytelling makes it impossible to predict how any game unfolds. so well played, keep it up and go crush some folks the next days! 😊🥳
Well done Anna, and good luck in the next game. Be confident in your ability to find great moves ! We are all rooting for you. 🙂
It was sad to see emotional contrast after since u didn't lose but the norm is coming, it's closer than you think, you work so hard and play so well. Best vibes.
So good you’re still in the running for a Norm. Wishing you the best for the next 2 days. You are learning so much. Good luck Anna ❤
This is just great, not just the vast knowledge, also the honesty and transparency about all of it. I root for you!
Thanks for your videos! It's so interesting to see you climbing to the top
Anna, I think you have absolutely the right attitude. You have insight in your strengths and weaknesses, you're confident enough to become an even stronger player, but you're not overconfident. You feel the blows opponents deal you, but you're ready to learn the necessarly lessons and stay optimistic. You're dealing with all this in a very rational, healthy way. I wish you the best luck for your future journey.
Great video!! When I saw your reaction to the game I t thought that you were disappointed so most probably a loss. I have not finished the video yet but I think it will end in a draw, explaining the disappointment…
I think a great asset for you is reliving the games right after for youtube viewers. You talk the game through and that is positive reinforcement for you. Wishing you best tomorrow.
Smiling from ear to ear is not a common poker face 😆
She's always smiling... so for her it is !
Anna, first of all great job. Your honesty in this video is refreshing. Whether it is chess, poker, an important athletic event, we have all been in a spot where we felt we choked. And as a competitor it's tough. You feel like you let yourself and your team down. All you can do is learn from it, and hopefully next time in this spot you will convert. You played well. Don't lose sight of that! Thanks for your content!
Love your videos Anna! Wish you all the best! Go get em! ❤
You've already won in our eyes. You bring the best out of your followers and the game itself. Keep up the confidence and know we're all behind you in your endeavors. Good luck Anna
Good luck in the next game! Great performance here.
25:21, internal dialogue and weighing risk can be very hard when under pressure. I'm glad I was wrong about the loss, Anna. You played superbly given the strength of your opponent! You should be proud of yourself!
a multi faceted lesson - thank-you Anna.
I have seen some of your vids before and stumbled on this after not watching your stuff for a while. Being an older man and having studied philosophy, arts and science I can only say that what I hear is passion in your recounting of your game. Passion is in a way like, and or a form of love, Eros and Thanatos (Thanatos the Greek mythology meaning is death personified, and Eros is love) and so Eros and Thanatos are forever fighting struggling and we all at different time and for different reasons have these struggles some little some epic. And for me I have come to believe that Eros (love) is very close to faith and with the two of these together one can find the way froward to pay what ever price in the name of passion. Sometimes artist can say hard things so well and so simply and this brings to mind a song by a Cuban artist, Silvio Rodríguez - Oleo De Una Mujer Con Sombrero, which has a line, "La cobardía es asunto De los hombres, no de los amantes, Los amores cobardes no llegan a amores Ni a historias, se quedan allí, Ni el recuerdo los puede salvar, Ni el mejor orador, conjugar". So I have not looked at your final results yet, and I think at the time I am writing this it might be all over and ended but perhaps this thought might help you in the future. Basically, sometimes in life passion and faith can be enough to move towards what might be uncertain and fearsome. One must undertake this danger and overcome because that is life and we are all going to loose the big game sooner or later and before that time comes it must be that we stand straight and boldly and move ahead because at the end the only thing we regret in life is not the struggles we lost but those we did not take on due to fear. Tienes que Bailar para llegar al punto que pudes decir, "Que me quiten lo bailado. Suerte.
I thought for sure it was going to be a win for you! She played some challenging moves to stay alive there. You still played so well against a WGM ❤ Good luck tomorrow!
tomorrow in the video is today - she lost.

I love how you played to win. I’m so glad you are competing again. I have missed these videos. I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s!
Anna, your chess skills are amazing; you're on track to be a great Grandmaster-keep pushing!
Great to see that you are getting even better as a chessplayer as you already are.
Your mom fighting against Alexandra Kosteniuk is insane!
Every game gave you more experience. All the best for your next game Anna! Have a good rest and tomorrow is a new day. This is just one part of the journey, and it’s already amazing you didn’t make the game easy for her at all, even got some engine best moves.. It’s normal to feel all those kind of emotions especially going for something that you want so much with all those different factors involved. We know you’re an amazing chess player already, and really enjoyed all your game analysis and sharing. Thanks for sharing with us. I kinda sensed your energy today was pretty exhausted, understandably, hope you were able to get a decent rest! 😊
Just remember every game you play prepares you a little better for the next one, you explain your game and thinking really well. I wish you the very best of luck in your next games, 'the only thing to fear is fear itself'.😉

I'm portuguese-born who has to learn English as a Second Language (ESL) and I understand the desire to learn new catchphrases. Polyglot's are cool.
Don't stress for result and opponent , concentrate on your play , svetozar gligoric say in the title of his book :i play against pieces , not a person
You’re awesome! Thank you for taking the time explaining everything so detailed, I learn so much while you explain so many interesting things, it is fascinating to me! Trust your guts and play for interesting moves in the game, because you are already awesome and kind like your parents!🎉
This might be the best chess content on the yt. Keep going
I've been in Sweden for 50 days for work, and I was really hoping that I could meet you. Your content is amazing and I'm really wishing the best of luck in every tournament that you play on!
Regards from Brazil
Thanks for a great recap. Psykology is also a "player" always. But you are on the right path. Keep up the good work and recaps. You will secure the norm, I am sure. /Bo
5:15 Anna, I believe you meant to say 'multifaceted' meaning 'having a variety of different and important features or elements'. Zero worries though, what you said made sense. I'm happy for you and your Mom getting to play in more tournaments together. That's so cool.
IM Anna Cramling sounds so right. Keep going any you'll build your confidence point by point. You have the talent we all believe in you, you'll get there if you just stay on the path. : ) BB.
I like the black and white to try and throw us off of the smile. A valiant attempt but instantly knew you win or draw but definitely not a loss. Great game and good luck. Looks even so far you got this.
What a golden moment for you to grow as a player. May you cherish this lesson and push even higher in the near future. Good game. (And yes, I predicted the draw.)
Great game, keep smiling, good luck tomorrow. Can't wait to see it. This was an intense video. How you play at this level is insane. GG's Anna and Team
I think you're gonna draw this game, you play really good Anna. You are inspiring! Good luck for tomorrow!!!! 🏆
It sounds like you learned something really important for future games. I enjoy your honesty about your progress!
Good luck for tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing how it goes. 😊
Anna I don't know how you do it! Not only are you playing your opponent, you are fighting your nerves, managing high hopes and your inner psychology is like playing a second opponent simultaneously! When you get the WIM (not if - I am certain you will get the WIM in the future) it will be a sweeter day because of struggles like this. Love from Canada, always! - Ryan
Congratulations and Good Luck. You Rock!!! 😊
For anyone wondering "que me quiten lo bailao" can be loosely translated as "you can't take away the fun I already had" meaning that even if you lose our the thing ends in a low note you can be happy looking at the good parts or in this case even a draw can help you positively reinforce where your game is solid
I love your videos Anna :)
The more experience you gain in these situations the better you become at keeping your nerves calm. Very cool to watch your chess journey, good luck!
Never be scared of your opponent. Recognize when their ideas work and when yours dont but always go for the kill if you see it
Spot on. If you play the right moves, you can beat everybody.
@@dannyrasmussen4988 No mercy on the chessboard
my favorite part is when you said you want to be honest with us. That right there is why ur such a smashing success at this. We can feel it...ur trying to tell us like it really is.
At the start of the video i thought you lost but at 18.19 your position is so good i think you drew the game.
Edit. I was right, but at what cost :(
I'm a new follower and a beginner chess player but your humble personality and knowledge of the game is enticing! Bravo!
Keep going ❤🎉
I enjoyed watching this recap, however, it had me in tears when I saw that you were sad about drawing the game from a winning position. Don’t ever doubt yourself and fear your opponents, you must trust yourself because that is the way of winning. You are spectacular, and we are all cheering for you until the end. Good luck to you with your next match.
I really enjoy your analysis and honest assessment. I’m just a beginner (at age 68, lol) but your videos are so motivating.
When I was on the wrestling team in high school, sometimes there'd be kids that would cry after they lost.
If at the next tournament, they threw EVERYTHING they had at their opponent and still lost, they smiled. Every time.
6:32: A good synonym for logic or logical system that basically means approach or principle and that you might like is the noun heuristic. In French, heureux means happy, but incidentally, there is no relationship between the two. Heuristic comes from ancient Greek and just meant discovery, or finding. However, in English today, it's often used to talk about a rule or practical approach that one uses to shortcut things so as to solve a problem.
What an amazing life Anna has. The child of two grandmasters, she grew up in immersed in Chess and loves it. Widely traveled, internationally known, it must be like a dream every day she wakes up but this has been her life from day one. Incredible.
That was an amazing game and you were very optimistic and took away a lesson instead of just being mad; that’s really hard to do for some people. I learned a lot with this one. Good luck tomorrow!
25:11 a better word for mentality here is outlook or feeling. Mentality can be used to mean this, but often it is used to refer to one's general perceptions and attitude. For instance, "a people have a certain mentality."
This is a common pattern in sport when you face a stronger opponent "on paper". You have nothing to lose coming into the game and then suddenly you're like "oh shit, I'm actually winning this" and then everything starts feeling very differently all of a sudden.
Your emotion is palpable in the video but as you said this can be a huge confidence boost, so congrats, and keep the energy up! 🍓🍓
Good luck with the final game, Anna!
Your game analysis is wonderful. Your honesty is admirable.
11:53, you could say "A knight on the rim is dim". Alternatively, you could make something up for C4, such as "to open more doors, place a knight on C4", but beyond that, I know of no adage (pronounced add-ij, with emphasis on the first syllable) related to the C4 placement of the knight.
You got me with "Que me quiten lo bailao" 😆 I'm literally enjoying chess for the first time in my life, and I started to practice and play for fun thanks to the channel. This video is so funny! And the passion and the excitement! Probably this comment will be lost in translation, but keep it up! Eres una campeona!
My favourite chess channel your bubbly personality is helping promote the game k feel other chess feeds aren't doing this in respect you are a winner keep it up
Thank you Anna for sharing your challenges and successes with us! I am rooting for you in these games. Oh, and the term is "multi-faceted" instead of "multi-faced." The decision not to push f4 was difficult, although I found myself literally saying "push it, push it" to the video.
“Que me quiten lo bailaó” 😂
Great video!
I think you meant "multi-faceted move" (like a cut gemstone) meaning one with many sides or positives. It's also funny as heck that she's more worried that Dad will give her grief if she lost a piece early on !!! Pretty adorable Miss C.
26:21 Anna diciendo “point” en lugar de “period” es lo mejor. ♥️😂
Porque dícese así. Y punto!! 😂

18:37 I'm so nervous. It's such a tense back and forth. But I really think Anna is gonna pull a win! You've got this!
18:16 Seeing you smiling like this makes me happy, I'd say that you've won this game :D I'm looking forward to your next Recap :)
*Anna you are special.😇* Not because of your amazing grandmaster parents, but because you allow your subscribers and viewers to learn from your good and "not so good" choices. Once you release that Spanish-Swedish Tiger inside, you will place fear in every opponent. Great wishes!
Being afraid is the absolute best way to stop yourself from thinking clearly.
The expression you were thinking of is “my gears started turning”! I feel that struggle though. Even though I am a native English speaker and have lived in the U.S. my whole life, I always mess up idioms and expressions! My husband thinks it’s funny haha, I’ll be close but get one or two words slightly off. And sometimes I pause mid sentence just to try to remember how an expression goes. I just think it’s more fun to use those kinds of phrases than to say something in the more straightforward way :)
Ey Anna, quería pasarme para comentar que este es el tipo de contenido sobre ajedrez que más me gusta de todo lo que he visto (que es bastante). Sigue así, ver los entresijos de los torneos desde tu punto de vista es genial.
