    visiting this 2 years later looking for a piggyback for my g87. great content and analysis!... one thing to keep in mind on the rwd cars is that the jb4 power spike at 3k may cause loss of traction making it slower than the more progressive power delivery of the race chip. also, I believe jb4 allows you to limit boost in lower gears to avoid this.

    The only serious drawback is that you have to connect it to the OBD2 port for it to work. All other analogical piggybacks on the market had it engineered it with no obd2 requirement.

    I don’t have any tuning experience with RaceChip, or JB4. I’ve been tuning turbo charged cars, since the mid 1990s and to my highly untrained eye, it “looks” to me like the JB4 chart being all over the place, is it trying to control the waste gate. That’s really the only thing that makes sense to get this kind of spiking. The RaceChip is clearly better at controlling either the map sensor or the boost solenoids.

    • @WhatsyourForte
      @WhatsyourForte  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The JB4 is trying to control the waste gate where the Racechip is trying to control the cam sensor. You can fix this issue with the JB4 by running a custom map

    Really REALLY good analysis putting the Racechip up against the JB4. There are a lot of variables that also need to be looked at and I feel like you touched on all of that.
    With another dyno on your car with the racechip in efficient I think we will be able to see a better overall picture.
    These cars are just not consistently responding the way they should be. We need a piggyback that is able to consistently put up higher numbers on the most aggressive driving setting.
    I feel the same about running “E” I will never use it so I’m more interested in what the car can do on 93.
