I think her break down ran deeper than just Jeremy dying I think being a vampire and losing her last family member the one she held it all together for made her feel all the other deaths 2× more and I think once she turned it off she felt free of pain, free of fear, and like now she could finally protect herself from all the threats seeking her which is why she didn't want to turn it back on I think she didn't want to feel all the pain fear and grief anymore and she felt free after everything she had been through and got sucked into it and let it take over
