This ain't country music folks, this is "western" music with a shot of blues/jazz mixed in..... Amazing and unique. Why aren't these guys in the RRHF...???
i wanted the hear this song for about 5 years. sad to think but i could not remember anything about it but sand over my trails.....so this is truly one of my favorite songs... it is everything you would want in a song. peace
This song inspired me to pick up the guitar again and to learn the lead guitar riff. The original lead by toy caldwell, from the original soundtrack. Great stuff.
I lived in Spartanburg, SC in 1971-72 and saw Marshall Tucker when they were a local band doing mostly Allman Brothers covers. They had just ceased being the Toy Factory. Drummer Paul Riddle was also a year ahead of me in high school. As a result, I have always tended to underrate this band. I heard the album version of this song on our local college radio station yesterday and it blew me away. MT is really a very talented band capable of doing many different styles well.
MY GRANDDAUGHTER LIVES IN COLORADO AND THIS MUSIC IS PLAYED THERE AND I HAVE HEARD THEIR WONDERFUL MUSIC IN MOVIES ABOUT THE SOUTH ,EASTERN AND WESTERN STATES AND NO ONE CAN PLAY OR SING THIS BETTER THEN DUGE,AND THE BEST BAND EVER FROM SPARTANBURG S.C.
I remember when Doug joined the band and we MTB diehard fans knew everything was going to be alright!!! We miss our Caldwell boys but who could ask for more than getting Doug to carry on??!!
I would like to know myself. This was not actually the real Marshal Tucker band but one or two as mentioned below by a commenter. I wanted to look this guy up, who was playing the lead guitar, thanks!
No disrespect but this isn’t the MTB….Doug at this point in time was the only OG left…for awhile…Doug Jerry and Paul were still tourin’ Tommy passed in ‘80…and Charlie played fiddle on this tune….Carolina Dreams holds the original of this….good on Doug for still tourin’ today…but….I mean no disrespect because I’ve always been a Tucker fan!!
@@rabflorida I don’t…sorry and he’s good…they certainly draw folks, more of a feel good band…I’d think this show woulda been early 90’s.. still I’d never disrespect what Doug has done to keep the band alive, but he lost his voice back in the early 90’s and he’s had surgery to repair it…somewhat..

It's 2023 and nuthin' today matches this band and this song; period.

This is the rarest form of what makes the wild west a music that hits home with all generations of deep south true country-rock ! #uno

Absolutely love this slower, blues feeling, heart and soul version of this.

I wouldn't call it Texas swing, but it is good.

Shot at billy bobs in fort worth texas
Oh.... Debbie I miss you....
Country music fans, that sound you don't recognize is a saxophone. The other one is a flute.
Mine too
Come join "The Marshall Tucker Band Group" on Facebook!
Love this song and wish someone would post a lesson
Muito bom!!
MTB forever... 😎
I like this live version almost as much as the studio, but they kept the fiddle player in the dark!
The keyboard player was actually doing the fiddle part on his synthesizer.
If ya can’t have the original that was a dang good line up and a great song
do you.have the heard in a love song live on this same performance
+mark lyon , No sory.
+rabflorida I meant sorry
What a great song! How do we get this on DVD?
Toy you da man!
Tempo?
Are these videos released on any dvd?
I do not know where you would get this one on DVD,
being live on stage....
Hear it be
You’re missing the SLIDE!
Who's on the slide? You know the lead guitar player's name? Thanks
who was the lead guitar player?
I would like to know myself. This was not actually the real Marshal Tucker band but one or two as mentioned below by a commenter. I wanted to look this guy up, who was playing the lead guitar, thanks!
His name is Rusty Milner
Where's the steel
This is not the Marshall Tucker Band . It’s Doug with a great band .
Good point.🙂
i want to be his sax
omg this guy messed this song up!!1
The sac player favors Jerry if it’s not him.
At first glance, they appear to be playing in E-flat for the benefit of the sax player. They aren't.
Do you know who the lead guitarist was??

Yea, I know, I messed up. Do you know who was playing that lead guitar?

I was at this concert had to be late 90 or early 91 . MTB one of the all time great southern bands .
Nice!! @@boweevil6442
I have no idea.
Great song.... speed it up...
A tad too slow.
I agree, kind of slow, but still nice.
