I saw someone comment this already, but the "Preacher's Daughter" album by Ethel Cain is AMAZING! I would recommend listening to either "Hard Times" or "Sun Bleached Flies." "Hard Times" is a hard listen with the context of what it's about, but I would highly recommend. "Sun Bleached Flies" is my personal favorite
Wow! Thank you so much for checking out Phoebe's music! She's one of the most emotionally expressive artists I've ever had the pleasure of discovering 🤎 if you find yourself seeking more of her music, you'll be pleasantly surprised :) Moon Song, Chelsea, Georgia and You Missed My Heart are some of my all-time favorites.
The crazy thing about this whole situation is that Ryan hyped up this song and album to get her noticed more. She even said he guilted her into going on tour with him after their relationship ended. She only said okay because he threatened to harm himself if she didn’t do the tour. ALSO - Ryan used to make fun of Phoebe for being a Taylor Swift fan and then did the 1989 covers while they were dating. Total narcissist move.
Also if you're interested in doing another Phoebe song I highly recommend "Moon Song" from her newest album Punisher. Soul-crushing but soooooooooooo beautiful
I relate to this song so deeply, from the lyrics to the melody and pace. She's saying such hard words and talking about grief and revenge even in a monotone voice because as she said "I can hardly feel anything at all" with a dancy melody in the back. This song sounds exactly how my apathy towards abuse feels like, I've never felt so seen by a song before. Another mind blowing point for me is that she talks about emotional motion sickness while driving a scooter, which doesn't make sense at first because they're usually slow, untill I understood that they're typically used for *kids* . Honestly, one of my favorite songs ever with the most relatable and heart wrenching first line.
So grateful to see you experiencing Phoebe Bridgers. Stranger in the Alps and Punisher are two of my favorite albums in recent memory. My favorite songs are probably Funeral, Scott Street, Chinese Satellites, and I Know The End. Both albums are an incredible experience all the way through though. Love your reactions 💕
Love to see you reacting to Phoebe! She's such a great songwriter. I would also love to see you reacting to some of Adele's deep cuts from her last album 30, the storytelling on it is so strong. I Drink Wine, To Be Loved and Love Is A Game are probably my favorites tracks from it. You should check them out.
Please do more Phoebe Bridgers! I love her music, and I'm exactly like your reactions when listening to her music for the first time - confused because of all the emotions and stories being told, and in the end just captivated, walking away thinking about her words and movement in the music for YEARS ! So. It would really help to hear more analysis, and learn more from your knowledge. ☺️
I love that u explain stuff real good, even some that are supposed to be obvious. Cuz that makes people like me (who has english as a 2nd language) be able to trully connect and understarnd the song and what u’re saying. Tysm for this, Mere 💙💙💙
absolutely love your channel and when you once you finally get the chance to publish your books i'll definitely purchase them. it's an incredible thing what you're doing and i can't wait to see you achieve your goals and dreams! also, you should definitely react to more phoebe bridgers music. she writes amazing lyrics and when you find out some of the meanings behind them, they become even more meaningful and i think you would enjoy more of her art
Thank you so much! I'm so grateful for the support. I will definitely be doing more of Phoebe, my nephew, who edits the videos, loves her music so much too, which makes it even more fun for me.
I just wanted to tell you - THANK YOU for all of these videos. I have been going through a really difficult time recently - been used by another man, same old same old… I was a victim of manipulation and gaslighting in an abusive relationship a couple of years ago and unfortunately it’s been really difficult to move on to better things. It was really therapeutic to listen to you analyze these songs that I’ve been listening to for a long time now. It really helped me get some perspective. And heal, at least a bit. It also made me think that maybe I just didn’t meet therapists who would suit me before. Because you start to make me believe that therapists can actually be empathetic and not just judgemental. Thank you so much. Really, I had some really dark days recently and listening to you really helped me dig myself out of there a bit.
i loved what you talked about in regards to the whole age-gap relationship thing, that's something i feel very strongly about and people brush it off a lot. i get so worried at seeing young people wanting to and having relationships with much older people, i find it disturbing and honestly...disgusting, especially now that i'm a psych student, i feel like it's my duty to advocate about how problematic those relationships are.
"my husband" hahahaha i love u so much! can't wait to read ur book!!! i hear phoebe once, few years ago, so now i'm gonna watch the rest of the video and dive in the lyrics with u. sending love xx
I've been loving the taylor reactions and all the great analysis, I would recommend songs from Ethel Cain's album "Preachers Daughter" they are quite heavy but I would love your inside in those topics
Omg I just found your channel after Midnights and watched a few vids and had to subscribe so fast and on Halloween I made my spouse watch your Paper dolls videos me while we painted our pumpkins and now you’re covering Phoebe!!!? My other favorite artist? Gosh you’re amazing!
“never going to let him have it” could also be a double entendre. some people say “let ‘em have it” as in “tell them off” so phoebe is saying both i’ll never let you have credit for my accomplishments while also saying i’ll never be able to say it to your face how bad you’ve hurt me bc of the abusive nature of the relationship. might be a stretch, but that’s just what i was thinking
It's gotta be so surreal for artists to process their experiences and navigate their emotional landscape through their music and have 90% of their fans just bopping along like, "Wow, this is so groovy and fun!" Like you rip your heart out of your chest and everyone just bounces it around like beach ball.
Thoroughly enjoyed your video, thank you for posting! I'm a recent fan of Phoebe's; I am pleasantly surprised with how deep her music is and how some of her songs seem to touch exactly what I'm feeling in life... and I'm much older than the artist! If you're looking for some great Phoebe stuff, I'd like to throw the song "Steamroller" into the mix of recommendations. It's an older tune of hers, but so raw. Best wishes for your book!
if you haven’t already, i would literally give so much to see you react to moon song by pheobe. it’s my all time favorite and is so so incredibly beautiful.
Oh, I'm new here but I loved this, I love Phoebe's work so much. You NEED to listen to her album Punisher, all the songs there are perfect to analyse, but I recommend Moon Song, Savior Complex and Halloween as the main ones. There's also I know the end, of course. This whole album is just mesmerizing. I'd love to see you analysing Nothing New too. Sending love 💕

Looking forward to seeing your reaction to these tracks! :)
I love Phoebe Bridgers! I Know The End is also a great song to dissect, pretty much life summed up in 5 minutes (and a deeply profound auditory experience) :). Have a go at it!
I always read the line 'never gonna let you have it' to mean she's never going to give him the satisfaction of having a proper go at him to his face but instead she's going to just drown out his existence.
Please react to Waiting Room by Phoebe. It further dives into the attachment issues she made while being in this relationship. I love your reactions so much and your analysis inspires me ❤
i love this!! i would totally recommend doing some boygenius, phoebe is in that band, and bite the hand is such a good song, or i would totally recommend letter to an old poet, both are very profound but letter to an old poet it much more sad and feely
i'm loving your videos, the phoebe is a great addition! it'd be great to see your reaction/interpretation of the second verse of lana del rey's song wildflower wildfire, it's definitely something relevant to your perspective as a therapist. her song ultraviolence would also be a good one to react to; it's from the perspective of someone in an abusive relationship where they're still so in love with their abuser, to the point where they don't want to get out of the relationship (idk if i phrased that right)
Love this reaction so much and thank you for laying out the power dynamics of age gap relationships which some people are (wilfully…) ignorant of. I just found your channel yesterday and have already binged all videos you have haha. It would be delightful to have some reactions to Lizzie McAlpine, Melanie Martinez and even Olivia Rodrigo c:

If I may, can I suggest a few reaction/interpretations vid’s? Mainly, Katelyn Tarver’s “You don’t know” it’s a beautiful song that speaks about Anxiety, depression and how it feels. I think in the course when she said “I could scream to drown you out” that means drown him out of her mind. But when she said”You know I'm never gonna let you have it But I will try to drown you out” I think she meant that she’s not gonna let him live in her mind anymore and she’ll try to drown him by telling us in the song what he did. That’s my interpretation. I could be wrong.
I don’t think the word was out yet on what a douche Ryan Adams is when he got permission from Taylor to record 1989. I loved his take on those songs and now can’t listen to them. Loved this analysis and hearing your breakdown of the lyrics and the psychology of the power dynamics. Wish someone like you had been around in the 70’s 😂 Best of luck on the book. Really like your cover art art. Wondering if you’ve approached Hay House as a publishing option.
I love phoebe bridgers. Your view is slanted though. Self obsessed and applying your own inadequacies to the situation. You aren’t a victim, remember that.
Ryan Adams also dated Mandy Moore and that relationship left her completely broken, she even quit music for years. According to her interviews, this was cause he was an addict and she focused all her energy and time on him getting better (amongst other things) Check: Sunday Profile: Mandy Moore - CBS Morning // Mandy Moore Details Ex Ryan Adams’ ‘Destructive’ Behavior In New Report | TODAY 🤓🤓🥰🥰 I hope you get to publish your book. I want to RRREAD it so bad!!!
I know this video is older, but... The first part of your conversation really hit me. It explained everything I went to in my early twenties. Thanks for validating my thoughts and feelings.

If I may, can I suggest a few reaction/interpretations vid’s? Mainly, Katelyn Tarver’s “You don’t know” it’s a beautiful song that speaks about Anxiety, depression and how it feels. I think it would make a great video given your knowledge and background.
Also, Phoebe’s song “Waiting Room” (although it’s her VERY early work and she was like 15 or 16 when she wrote it) but nonetheless, it’s beautiful.
Thank you so much for the support!! I haven’t checked out Hay House but I will now! Thank you for that and watching, it means so much 🤍
If you want real emotional damage, listen to Moon Song!
Hi! Obsessed with your reactions!❤️🩹 please, can you do a reaction video for Selena’s song called “My mind and me”. I hope you will like it✨
I love phoebe bridgers. Your view is slanted though. Self obsessed and applying your own inadequacies to the situation. You aren’t a victim, remember that.
You're the epitome of white girl 😅 i luv you
this reminds me of my narcissist father
He sounds like a narcissist.
Ryan Adams also dated Mandy Moore and that relationship left her completely broken, she even quit music for years. According to her interviews, this was cause he was an addict and she focused all her energy and time on him getting better (amongst other things)

🤓🤓🥰🥰 I hope you get to publish your book. I want to RRREAD it so bad!!!
I know this video is older, but...
The first part of your conversation really hit me. It explained everything I went to in my early twenties. Thanks for validating my thoughts and feelings.
