Very informative, nice job. I believe the spoon with the bead by the bend of the hook was designed so the fish would not swallow the hook. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and tight lines
Have you tried using fish attracting scent to your yarn tipped Kastmaster lure? I use scent on my yarnie's when steelhead fishing, I assume it would also work on a spoon ice fishing.
I've never ice fished. I was surprised you didn't mention that little jigheads that are usually tipped with small worms. I always thiught those were the most populsr lure.
The jig n rap has caught me a few perch and almost a pike but it didn't hook up good enough. Tore up the lure to the point I needed to get a new one though lol. I've been using a small lip less but haven't had luck yet but the bite has been dead on everything for weeks. I have a kastmaster and it has caught me a dozen or so various panfish. I've been looking at getting a sweedish pimple just not sure what colors to use round me. I do have a pink lindy glow and rattle spoon. That hasn't produced yet but situation hasn't called for it.
Hello Dom! I was just watching your video on catfish, im just wondering if you have any rig recommendations for targeting bullhead or carp, thanks for the videos
Not sure if anyone cares but if you are stoned like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my gf these days :)
Excellent video, as usual! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! P.s. is it possible to use 4 lb. test flurocarbon ice rod/reel line on a tip-up? I accidentally purchased that line for my tip-up and when I went back to the store they were sold-out of tip-up line, and I'm going fishing before I can solve the problem..
@@pietervanvogelaar6501 4lb is on the lighter side, but it is possible. Fluorocarbon is strong and abrasion resistant, so it's a better option than mono. Take it nice and easy, and you just might be able to pull a bass or walleye with it.
Thanks! Just about to go try ice fishing for the first time today ever and your tute helped tremendously regarding lures and some tips on how to use them.
Great choice of lures in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan...
Hey! A Michigan man! Same here! Rock on!
Always!
Thanks for the input.. I'll put it to use on kananaskis Lake next Sunday..
Very good video with nice pictures. Thanks from Germany
Greetings from the USA! Peace be with you and your people, good sir.

Tungsten jigs are for sure the most popular for panfish, you're right 👍 They're my go-to for smaller fish

What is your opinion of the Banana Bug jig from Northland.
Great video. Please make a list in the description with links if possible. Thanks!
This is grate cuz I’ve been ice fishing for years and I have only used live shiners and didn’t know what the alternatives were

@Edgar Finley yea, been using InstaFlixxer for since november myself :)
Thanks for the knowledge bro
Thanks man. I’m going to try a few of those out
Do you tie right on or use a ring/clasp?
I used a rapala jigging rap and the plastic wing blades broke in half after catching a few fish, what do I do with it now lol
Dead stick it. It'll still work.

What are you targeting with the tip-up?

It would work for crappie, gills, perch. But for pike, walleye, I'd be leary.
